I booked a room through this website by accident thinking I was on the hotel website. When I paid for it, it had a different total at the bottom after I got my confirmation receipt it'll charge me an extra $469.13. Supposedly for taxes and other charges. This was more than a one night stay where I was staying. I had already paid the $75 tax on the room in addition. My room was total of $331 and night and I stayed for two nights. The total charge was $1172.13. I could try to call customer service and cancel at the timer check in and it was a non-refundable charge. I wish people like me to do stuff about this kind of things going on in the world but unfortunately, half this world is full of crooks.! Lesson learned

Unfortunately, we booked the accommodation in Diani Kenya through getaroom without our knowledge. The room was miserable and we had to find other accommodation. We canceled the room and getaroom not only kept the fees of USD 634 but also the price of the accommodation of USD 1600. Warning: pure rip-off!

I booked a room on getaroom.com, then cancelled it as I found a lower rate, when I found out it was non-refundable, I called customer service WITH my reservation number and asked them to reinstate the reservation. Was told the could not do that BUT I could book another room reservation. REALLY? I am paying 189.00 for a room you will not refund and then you think I am stupid enough to pay you AGAIN $189.00 for another room. Not happening. Oh, and she gave me a Case number for WHAT I am not sure, she wasn't doing anything for me.

They hijack you from the hotel web site then bait you with a low price then Switch to a much higher price once they have your credit card information then tell you it's non refundable.
Get a room customer service did reach out with a letter. The letter was a red herring The bank declined the refund. Because I had agreed to the terms prior to knowing they were going to charge an extra $300.00 +
So Get a room responded with a letter with again no way to contact them and no resolution.

They booked me a room in a wrong city. Despite me repeating at least 3 times that city I need a Warsaw, Poland. Refused to change booking and refused a refund. If I could give them minus 5 rating, I would.

Sponsored advertisement thought I was hitting the hotel website. Advertised a $475 room at $625 and claimed it was a last minute deal. Said the total was $625 and when I confirmed payment it charge my card $914 with no option to cancel. When I contacted the website customer service they processed a $60 refund and blamed me saying all fees were previously disclosed.

I went to the Wyndham website to book a room in Savannah, Georgia. The room I chose was listed for $107.00. After I entered all of my information to book the room, I got a confirmation indicating the total charge was $190.00, approximately $75.00 of the additional charge was for this sleezy outfit. NEVER use getaroom.com unless you want to be ripped-off.

I am absolutely baffled that this website is allowed to screw people over with their "policies." I booked 4 rooms for my coworkers and I for a work trip and I ended up needing to cancel 1 room, but that's not feasible to do since it's under "1 reservation." Instead, they wanted me to cancel the whole booking and rebook the 3 rooms. Kicker? THEY WON'T HONOR THE ORIGINAL PRICE - which, let me tell you, I already paid for! Unreal! They want to charge almost $100 more per room. I might as well just keep the original reservation and take the loss? This is extremely unprofessional and I will never recommend anyone to book through this site.

If I could give it 0 I would. This site is dishonest and predatory. The total cost of the booking does not show until the payment is made. The initial cost shown is always low, predictable, and then AFTER you have committed they add the "duties and taxes". When you cancel, because you have realised that using this site eventually cost you nearly double other similar sites, they charge you USD1.35 for it.

I called to book 2 rooms with double beds at the last minute as I was arriving at the train station. I thought I was calling the hotel directly, but I got connected to these scammers. The man said that they had 2 rooms with double beds and took my credit card info and he said "actually, we only have one room with a double bed, so the other one will be a twin." I told him to cancel it because that isn't what I asked for or paid for. I booked another hotel down the street. They charged me for the two rooms and when I called and filed a complaint they basically said "too bad." AMEX is dealing with it.

I recently had a terrible experience while booking a stay at the Grande Centerpoint Hotel- Terminal 21 Bangkok. I believed I was booking directly through the official hotel website, only to be redirected to a third-party website, "getaroom.com," without my knowledge or consent.
Initially, the price was $1,144.75 for 3 rooms for 3 nights (i.e. Rate per room per night $127.19) However, not only did the room category change without any prior notification, but I was charged an $1,181 per room for each night of my stay. For all three nights and three rooms, I was charged a total amount of $13,742.37
When I reached out to the hotel directly, they informed me that I had booked through a third party. Upon contacting "getaroom.com," the third-party website, they refused to provide any assistance or grant a refund. I have now initiated an investigation with my credit card company to rectify this situation.
I strongly advise anyone considering booking through this website to exercise caution and carefully review the terms and pricing before finalizing your reservation. I would urge others to avoid this website at all costs.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
