DO NOT USE THIS SITE TO BOOK YOUR HOTEL ROOM. You can get a room at the hotel for the same price. THEY DON'T OFFER GOOD DEALS PLUS THEIR CANCELATION POLICY IS HORRIBLE!
I booked a room through them and saw a better deal with the actual hotel. So, I canceled this room with getaroom.com within minutes of booking it and they refused to give me my money back. They do not honor the 24-hour refund policy, which most hotels and other booking sites honor. They claimed that the hotel wouldn't refund them so they couldn't refund me and only offered 10% of the $860 that they charged my credit card. The total experience felt like a scam. I ended up paying double the cost for my trip to Louisville due to this company.
GETAROOM website offered the lowest hotel rate online for an Elevated Two Queen Beds Renovated room at the Strat Hotel compared to Trivago, Priceline, Travelocity, Trip Advisor, Traveluro, and other travel agency websites.
Further, GETAROOM was "honest" to include information about a Hotel Resort Fee and the "exact" amount the hotel will charge per night. This is my 1st time to make a reservation via GETAROOM. I am impressed by their integrity, professionalism, and dedication to provide the best hotel rates online. Godspeed!
I read a review that stated "These guys are a very sleazy outfit". That is my takeaway as well after dealing with them. I made a hotel reservation on 11/15/23 at 10:24 AM. I then canceled the reservation on 11/15/23 at 10:30 AM after finding that the rate was cheaper when calling the hotel directly.
I'm not able to cancel the reservation within 6 minutes of making it?
I recommend avoiding these guys.
You will definitely NOT be saving money by using them.
You also run the risk of being ripped off.

I booked a room thinking I was dealing with the Hawthorne Suites direct. Not. I paid then realized 1/2 later that we had already booked the hotel a month ago, Called to cancel. No refund. Scam scam scam. Beware. You may think you are dealing with your hotel, but you are not. Sneaky business.

I was booking a room through 'Get a Room' for an upcoming Monday, but accidentally booked it for the current day which was a Friday. I immediately called them and they basically said oh well, we cannot cancel it. I even went through my bank and they could not reimburse me for it. So I had to pay almost $300 for a room I would not be using. Obviously, I was not going to use them again after this scenario and will tell many others so I booked directly through the hotel and then realized that all of their misc. Fees came out to be well over $100 over the actual hotel fee. What a waste. Do not spend all the extra money on this company. They definitely do not have the customer service to put behind the extravagant extra cost.

UPDATE:Getaroom has responded to my request for a refund and is working to expedite the process. I want to thank you.

To check the estimate on the resort's official website, I entered the reservation information and card number and checked the final amount.
But surprisingly, after confirming that it included a very expensive charge, I pressed the Browser Back button.
However, an unwanted payment has been made.
And when I contacted the resort directly and confirmed the free cancellation and contacted them again, it was all about waiting (maybe they got all the refunds)
Their method is disguised as an official site, and after paying a high rate, they make a profit by booking with Agoda instead.
Also, when you know this fact and apply for a refund, you will remain unresponsive.
I recommend you never use this company! Also, I will do my best to get a refund.

I booked a room in a Dublin hotel for tonight believing I was on hotels own website for €124. When the confirmation arrived in my inbox €52 extra was added to the bill. This was not shown in the booking process and only appeared in the confirmation email. I await a satisfactory resolution from the company
Update: the company has reached out to resolve the issue quite promptly and efficiently offering a refund of the extra charges as a gesture of goodwill which I have accepted. As a result of their efficient remedy I am happy to increase my rating to a 3 and advise potential customers to please be aware of the extra charges and taxes applicable when booking with this site.

I have no idea how I went from the hotel website to get ROOM.COM. However, I ended up being charged with a NON-REFUNDABLE hotel room with a 40% service charge. At no time, was I aware that this was not the hotel's site. I am on with them now, and they are calling the hotel to see if they would allow me out of the reservation IF not, it is cancelled anyways and I have to pay the whole amount. Dishonest, criminal, how do these people look at themselves in the mirror? I have been waiting for a supervisor for 15 minutes.

Good overall, clean room and bathroom.
Coffee machine did not have the tray for the coffee bag, making bit difficult to percolate the coffee.

I thought I was booking directly through Loews Hotels, and this company spoofed Loew's Hotel's website. I have booked many times through Loews and was totally fooled by this, and also significantly overcharged by this company compared to the rates posted same day by Loews. Very deceptive. I knew once I saw the entire charge go through, and at higher rates. I can't seem to get through to anyone to attempt to cancel, and having now looked online, I am very concerned I have been scammed. They charged a "tax recovery fee" of nearly $800 added on to the hotel charge which as noted was higher than the posted rates by a lot. This is so upsetting - not at all the way a company should operate - trickery - and I am typically very cautious - AMEX has flagged this now.

I just booked 2 night stay in a hotel in Hong Kong. The rate shown was comparable to other sites so I did not compare the final total price. Once I hit the the button, I realized there was a tax recovery charges & service fee of $111.67 (other sites like Hotels.ca did not charge this fee since I booked 3 nights for an earlier dates). I immediately email and talked to the *******578 to ask to cancel. Was told No refund. Now I paid C$84/2 nights more than hotels.ca. The agent would give me C$28 refund only.Be aware! Don't ever use this site because it is deceiving! I learned my lession.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
