They spoof hotel websites. You are not even aware you used a third party. Very deceptive and almost criminal. They have responded to my complaint and partially compensated me. However, I feel that their business practices need improvements.

On Sept 28 when a category 4 hurricane Ian was heading straight for us. Do to power outage concerns I booked a room at a local super 8. I was not told I was speaking to a 3rd party and I was not informed I was being charged with a $114.00 booking fee. I canceled the reservation and yet was still charged a full price These people are Con artisit! BEWARE

I booked a one night stay at Baymont by Wyndham Henderson Oxford for September 8th as I was attending a music festival there and did not want to drive 5 hours home that night. I should have seen the red flags when I booked the room and the full amount with fees and taxes was not shown until AFTER my card had been charged. I showed up the night of the reservation after checking the day prior to make sure that everything was taken care of and that the room would be available when I arrived after my concert only to find out that the hotel had cancelled my room. I was assured by the hotel that I would be refunded through the third party which I booked and was given paperwork showing that the hotel had refunded about 50 dollars less than what I was charged to the third party to return to me. I questioned the difference between the initial amount I was charged and the amount being refunded and was informed that the refunded amount is what they actually received from the getaroom. Now here I am on the 28th, over two weeks later after reaching out multiple times with no response, receiving an email from getaroom stating that I will not be receiving a refund as the reservation is nonrefundable and that they have already paid the hotel. I am just getting the run around and I wasn't even the one to cancel the reservation. Needless to say I will never be booking with getaroom or Wyndham again.

DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS THRU THIS MONEY HUNGRY WEBSITE FOR A SERVICE NOT PROVIDED... I made a reservation thru www.getaroom.com about a month ago and for a night stay after driving 14 hours. I was making my reservation for a good price with only 3 rooms left. As I was unable to find my card for about an hour even I did I finished the reservation and went to the hotel. I arrived and gave the hotel host my name and info and he was unable to find my reservation we double checked the dates and it was for the following day (which I would no longer be in town for) the computer automatically changed booking days after 12am. The host said they were completely booked and did not have anything available but would have no problem giving me a refund since they would not be able to accommodate my stay... Almost a month and they refuse to give me my money back

Originally I booked a room with a view of the falls but when I called hotel had view of city. Had to cancel that room and pay for another. Hopefully all will work out.
I asked for two weekdays in October for a two room suite at a specific hotel. I was told that there were no days in October. I then asked for two days in November. I was given the same information, no rooms in November. I then asked for February 2023. For the third time, I was told the same thing. Eventually, the person said she would refresh her system and look for any cancellations. She then found two days in Oct and Nov, but only for a one bedroom. I selected a date in November. I gave the credit card info of my friend who was sitting with me and listening to my conversation. The person said my friends card did not go through. I then gave her another card, which did not go through either. I finally gave my card information, which went through. I was then asked to approve the card charge, which included an additional $170.00 in fees & taxes. I said this was exorbitant and did not agree. The person then said she would reduce the additional fee by by $113. I then agreed. This was a strange situation to me

BIGGGG SCAM. BEWARE! I WILL BE SPREADING HOW FRAUDULENT THIS IS. THEY CHARGE BOGUS Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees* AND DO NOT TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR IT! I PAID MORE THAN HALF OF MY STAY AT A HOTEL TO THIS COMPANY FOR A 5 MINUTE CALL OF BOOKING A HOTEL.
My Master card won't dispute the charge for me!

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
