I had the pleasure of speaking with Jeremy W. He helped me book a room at one hotel. After I researched the hotel I didn't think it would be the hotel for me. I called Jeremy back to cancel my reservation, he was very kind. Jeremy took the time to help me find a hotel that would best fit the needs of my family. I am happy to say that, being my first time using this website it was a great experience. I will use it again!
I was in the middle of an emergency with my son that was stuck at the airport. I had been trying to find a hotel around the airport that had a shuttle and could help us. I called Get A Room and the Customer Service Rep was so kind and accomodating. At one point I was crying out of flustration and fear and he told me to just hang on he would help me and it would all be ok. He put me on hold and actually called the hotel that we were trying to get into. He came back and told me the name and number of the hotel and the manager that he had talked to. We finished the transaction on the phone at finally at 4:30 a.m. I had my son taken care of. I know I couldn't have done it without the wonderful service I received from a great employee of Get A Room. Thank You
I was recommended to GetARoom.com by an article on Frommers.com about the best and worst websites for booking hotels. GAR was on the "best" list, and after my one experience, I'd have to agree. After looking around on the GAR website for rooms in the Los Angeles area, I decided to call them. Ryan suggested the Double Tree in Culver City. As I was speaking with him, I looked up the hotel's reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to go ahead with the booking. I think I asked about the cancellation policy rather than him bringing it up, but I was told there would be a $25 cancellation fee. I still went ahead with the booking. I received the amazing rate of $408 for six nights. Once I receive the $40 rebate which was promised, it will make the nightly rate about $60, which is much less than booking directly through the hotel. Also, by joining Hilton Honors, the $15/night parking fee was waived and free internet access was provided. It was a great hotel and a great stay.
Was directed to getaroom.com through kayak,. Com GAR had a better rate so i booked through them. The agent Jeremy was very friendly and helpful on all aspects of our stay, even offered his direct line if we had any problems, we saved over $300.00 on our room! Our cost for a high end suite with a view of the Vegas strip on the 29th floor was only $75! We will defiantly use this site again!
Our only problem was that we arrived at the hotel to early (9am) but the hotel staff held our luggage and when the room was ready delivered it and even called us to let us know it was ready.
Jeremy helped us get two rooms together near Disneyland. To make this happen we had to be willing to travel 20 minutes. (Which is a bummer but at least our rooms are together.) Looking forward to our vacation. Let you more later.
Jeremy was polite, informed and overall very helpful. I would recommend his services.
I found that they had the lowest price for a hotel I was booking by using kayak.com. I went to book the hotel using their website, and I had a problem. I called the phone number to book the room over the phone, and the service was polite and helpful. It turned out that the issue was on my end, not theirs. I fixed the issue with my bank, and called back, I was given an even cheaper rate on the room. I ended up saving about $20 a night, just by calling. Excellent service, very helpful staff, and great rates.
I have used GAR twice. Both times I received everything promised. The last time the hotel was not available, so I was moved to a hotel close to the other, and this was an upgrade. I was very satisfied with GAR's agents. They were knowledgeable and when I asked a question that was not in files, she put me on hold and called the hotel to get my question answered. I did call the hotel both times to confirm my reservation. Both times I was booked into exactly what I had asked for. I was very satisfied with GAR and will us them in the future. I do think it prudent to follow up with a phone call on your own, to the hotel, to verify everything is OK before you leave.
It was what they say it was. Call up, get a room for less then you could on other sites. Has rules and cancellation fees but that is what you expect to get a rate significantly less then other sources.
This was the first time I ever used this website. Everything worked out really well, and I will definitely call them again. I booked two different hotels in Vegas with them. Getaroom later called me to tell me there was a problem with the second one and that they were moving me to a different location. It turned out to be a completely remodeled place which I considered to be an upgrade, and this made me very happy!
Jeremy, was very helpful in getting a room for myself and 2 friends who were going to a convention and wanted to make sure the hassel of having a good place to stay near the convention center was done. He even make sure that a rollaway was reserved for us in case we needed it. Very helpful.
After having a problem with another cite that Ive used for years, I phoned GAR. They were friendly, helpful, caring and very detailed. The price was good, but the service was GREAT.
Firstly, getaroom.com is the worst example of customer support that exists in this industry.
They had an advertised rate for the historic cotton exchange in New orleans for 139 a night. When I booked that hotel then sent me a confirmation then called be back two days later saying that they could not honor that reservation and would book me another room with a 100 dollar credit.
Sure they booked me another room but the credit never came, on top of that when I called their customer service they could not even tell that they had booked this room for me and promised me a 100 dollar credit
What kind of a company has such poor customer service? The customer service rep who could barely speak english did not make any effort to keep a customer.
NEVER BOOK FROM THIS SITE! Big SCAM!
Shannon at getaroom.com has raised the bar on service. She puts service back into customer service.
Thank you for being so polite and understanding as the customer comes first! I LOVE GETAROOM.COM
I had a great experience with Getaroom.com. I was searching online for a hotel in San Fran., and trying to find the best rates with no luck. They got me a lower rate than I expected. What I enjoyed most was the customer service experience with Getaroom.com rep. Richard Purdy. He was patient and truly interested in finding for me the best rate for my price range and preference. Thank you Richard! JJ
I booked and prepaid for a room through this site and received both a receipt and confirmation email. When I arrived at the hotel they had no record of my reservation. They called the company and were disconnected (after many transfers) four times! The website had booked me at another hotel and tried to play it off as my error even though I had a print out of my confirmation with me! They were rude, no even remotely helpful and told me to just pay for another room at the hotel I wanted to stay at and then send in my emails for review. They wouldn't give their last names and no supervisors were available to come to the phone. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
As I stood at the registration desk and told that my PAID, CONFIRMED, room was not available and that getaroom.com never confirmed the room, I was apoplectic. I wrote management at getaroom the following email - they are terrible:
Your service is horrible. How can it be that I make a reservation with you, get a confirming email, and then show up at the hotel's check in desk to be told the reservation does not exist, spend 45(!) minutes waiting for someone on your 800 number to pick up the phone (after getting disconnected 3 times), only to tell me that the reservation was not 'accepted' by the hotel, That's the first outrageous thing. The second is that when I ask about getting an immediate refund your rep tells me that you can't process this immediately (you sure processed the initial charge immediately!) and tells me not to worry about it (like I trust you after you screwed me on the room). And then has no compassion about the fact that I am standing on a saturday night in a hotel lobby WITHOUT a room and with every hotel oversold. What was the rep thinking - I was just going to get something on my own. I had to go back to the airport, re rent a car, drive an hour back to a friend's house, and stay the night there, wasting $60 in rental and gas and taking an extra 2 hours out of my life, all because your service CONFIRMS a reservation and bills its customers whether the room is available or not. You are the not the kind of service I want to do business with - and I'll post this every place I can on the internet review sites so everyone else knows it to. You guys are horrible. Very disappointed - GF
I made a reservation thru Getaroom.com and they clear me told me that parking in the South Beach Red hotel would be $19.00 extra per day (I agreed) when I arrived the hotel advise that they, at one time had parking arrangements with a nearby lot but they have not had it for a while, the only option was offstreet parking which was only available about 8 blocks away and meters had to be fed regularly. The front desk was very apologetic and offered to refund my money but when they started to process it thet discoverd that it was a Getaroom.com reservation and the refund would have to be handled by them. We called Getaroom and they quickly informed me that they only book a place to sleep and they did not get involved in the amenities part and therefore there would be no refund. IN MY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS WE CALL THIS FRAUD, We had to book at another hotel and we hope to fight this out with our credit card co. They were about $10 a day less than others but the deceit made a a NOT WORTH IT RATING I recommend you stay away from loopholes when booking your vacation stay
At my buddy's suggestion, I booked a 3-night stay with Getaroom.com about two months ago. At first I was a little hesitant to do so because I wasn't all that familiar with the company. But through the company's Call Center I managed to find a cheaper rate (not earth-shaking cheaper, but any little bit helps) than those being advertised on three travel sites I looked up. We were dead set on booking at Hilton Atlanta, and Getaroom.com gave us the best deal overall.
Let's face it, folks. No company is perfect. I've also used Expedia, Priceline, and the like. I've had good and not-so-good experiences with all of them (especially when it comes to customer service!). I've only used Getaroom.com once, so I have nothing negative to say about them so far. But judging from that one experience, this company isn't as bad as others make it out to be, and I do plan to use them for hotel reservations in the near future. So, my only advice is: Don't knock it till you've tried it.
A few months ago, my friend and I planned a weekend getaway to San Fran and sought last minute deals on hotel rooms. We found a deal for under $100 on Kayak, which in turn redirected us to the getaroom site. After seeing the $25 rebate graphic and other info on unpublished rates, we figured we could get a better deal over the phone -- and that we did.
The call center agent was friendly and answered all our questions. I have no complaints and overall I enjoyed booking through them. It's too bad that others who have reviewed the company before me have experienced otherwise.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.
Answer: Call 800-468-3578 but good luck. They are scammers
Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.

We are working diligently with all of our suppliers to get approval and expedite your refunds. We do see that there is a recent review posted by Sharon. We will assume that is from you and add it to the queue for a Service Resolutions Specialist to review your case. Sincerely, Getaroom
