Discovered Getaroom through Kayak and I've been very pleased by their offerings. They don't have 'every' hotel listed, but they do have a very curated list and pretty stellar rates. Checkout was painless and I'll definitely use it again.
Need to make the days selected more prominent so I don't have to cancel due to not having the right days.

After viewing this website to book a room, I had entered my credit card detail - however, I HAD NOT PUSHED CONFIRM. This was charged to my credit card. Regardless. When I went to cancel the room I did not need, they informed that yes, I had canceled my room, but would not recieve any money back. Now they have basically stolen $175 from me and will not give a dollar of it back. Terrible site. Do not do business with them.

Would have given 0 stars if i could. I cancelled my reservation with Priceline and booked with them when I saw they had better deal on the same hotel and same days. They emailed me 11days before my trip that they wont be able to honor the rate and I should cancel the reservation or pay $2000 at the hotel. They said they had a glitch in their system for which posted the rate. They did not want to face any consquences at all. They wanted to me to pay for all of it without any help from their side. I told them I can send them my cancelled itinerary from Priceline and they should at least try to match that. They said they couldnt do anything and offered me only 20% discount couple of days before my trip when there was no good hotel available and everything was overpriced. I repeatedly told them that 20% was nowhere close to the damage they were causing. The customer service told me thats all they could do. I asked them if they even tried to negotiate with the hotel since I was willing to pay to match my cancelled itinerary. They said they dont work like that and they are just a business. I asked them if they even care about customers because it looks like they like to messup their plan and leave them stranded right before their trip. They said there was nothing they could do. THEY ARE A NIGHTMARE. DONT BOOK WITH THEM. Any deal you get with them could just be fake and they will cancel your reservation. You will just have to live in uncertainity until you get to your hotel.

I was in India for a research project and needed a room for the final night in New Delhi. Unfortunately I lost my passport. I was refused at the hotel where I was booked into and phoned with Getaroom.com explaining my situation. They were helpful and assured me that they could check me into a hotel. However, when I got there, the hotel refused me and threw me out on the street. A week later they charged my creditcard for the full amount. I asked for a refund. And after some mailing and reviews on the site, it was provided. Thank you.

We canceled our reservation within 10 minutes of making it. The person on the phone said we could not cancel even though we had just made the reservation minutes before. Then he suddenly could not "understand" us and acted like we were speaking a foreign language and promptly hung up. We have absolutely not been able to speak or send an email to correct the situation. Booking.com was totally unresponsive to our predicament. Don't use them. Hampton Inn, Westborough, MA reservation date 12/30/2023.

This site is a complete scam. They charged me $1000 in service fees and refused to cancel it when I called immediately. Their team was entirely useless and rude. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM

Edit: customer support reached out and I was sent a refund. Just be aware of the membership prices before booking. And if they don't want to refund you follow up with the hotel and see if they have a penalty fee. The site claimed there was a late fee from the hotel, but that hotel only had a late fee if you cancelled less than 24 hours before, however I had cancelled several days early, only to arrive at the hotel and see I had two bookings because getaroom never followed through with the cancelation which caused me even more trouble at check in. Thankfully the woman checking us in was extremely helpful and added a note not to give the room to someone else because it needed to be cancelled. I called getaroom which said it was cancelled already (it wasnt). So anyways if they had sent the cancelation through when I actually cancelled there wouldn't have been a penalty anyways, so I'm a bit confused about that... however I am happy with the eventual outcome which was the refund so yeah.

I booked a hotel for 2 nights. When I got to the hotel, they said the hotel was fully booked and I should contact my provider. I had to look for a new place to sleep.
I wrote directly to customer service using my bank's cancellation code. After 5 days the answer came that unfortunately they could not refund anything.
What kind of criminals are these please? They sell me overbooked hotels and I still pay the cost?!
I have now written that this is not possible and illegal - withhold payments even though I cannot claim them.
After I reported here on this site about, the response was very quick and understanding. I had the money back in my account a day later.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
