Person I talked to was very pleasant and very concerned to provide the type room and date with a fair price for me.
The site associated through Trip Advisor indicated the Hotel costs were as per Canadian currency. Getaroom was easy to use however, when the payment transaction for the hotel booking occurred, it was in US currency. This is a shady way of doing business as exchange rates between currencies and especially credit card companies always fluctuates. I contacted Getaroom and they said that it was because they are a US company. Thats irrelevant as they should be charging the actual currency amount Cdn to the credit card as displayed on the website. Will not use or advise anyone to use Getaroom again.
I don't know her name but she was great. She walked me through it after a difficult process on the website, called the hotel and found me a room. She done good.
I booked on getaroom through Trip Advisor. I called the resort where I booked and was told that they saw my reservation but that the room type that I had booked and paid for would not be guaranteed. Furthermore, the hotel was completely full for the dates booked so there was a chance that I would be moved to another resort. Thankfully cancellation was easy and quick.
Misleading charges hidden fees worst customer service you think you are on the hotel web site but you are on theirs and not until it is too late they had crazy charges for what they call booking fees awful company never use them any positive reviews anywhere are by the company itself
Our reservation was not there when we arrived at the hotel, which caused a bit of a delay for us to check in. However, the customer care center handled everything smoothly and professionally solving the issue in around half an hour.

I was leary as the hotel itself stated they had no rooms, but she assured me they did and when I called the hotel the next day, they confirmed my room
I was in a great hurry, and they were able to get me a room where I wanted when I wanted. The price they got me was $159.00. I then found out when I got here that the actual price of the room is $129.00.
Do not GETAROOM, com! I thought i was at hyatt hotel/orlando airports site, which turned out to be getaroom. S they charged me $465. For what the hotel told me when i arrived was a $171. Room, and that they had never heard of such a price. The getaroom.com site showed all the cheaper room were booked, (that the hyatt said was simply not true) and only showed the most expensive room available, for $239. When i got my receipt i had been billed 465. For a room that was available thru the hotel itself for $171.
I called 3 times to getaroom.com help line, got put on hold for 30 minutes, and two rude, useless operators, one i asked if she could ask her friends to stop laughing and giggling in the background... AVOID THIS SITE AT ALL COSTS.
Not willing to change the name to my wife so she could check in, I had to work Friday night and I was going to meet her there Saturday morning. Happy Anniversary Getaroom
We were almost unable to get into the room because the door was broken at the lock. When we asked for a different room, they said we couldn't get another room until the morning.
The bathroom door was mishung and wouldn't close.
The so-called wifi was so slow as to be unusable
The breakfast was basically low grade dog food.
This was a complete $#*!hole.
Nothing wrong with the room but got scalped on the price. Quite offended at the charges and fees. We were quoted $81 and after purchase is was $110.

Didnt show the hotel that i already Payed. So had to pay again. Tried to talk to someone about getting my money back and could not ever get ahold of a person.
When I called to inquire about the hotel in Chile, Debra was right there for me. She answered my questions capably and when she didn't know the answer she sought to find out by going directly to the hotel source. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
Best price available. I wouldnt hesitate to use this site again. I will recommend this site to others.
My experience with GetARoom was excellent. We were driving to Florida and needed a place to stay. The booking was easy to make on my cell phone and it saved us money. This was our FIRST experience booking with them and we will book with them again.
The lady that helped me, took care of me. I got what I asked for quickly, with h no pain. The was friendly and efficient to look after me.
I contacted customer service because I booked the wrong date for a room at Hilton Garden Inn Your service rep went above & beyond to help me.! She contactedvthe hotel to inform them what had happened as the booking was non refundable.
The hotel allowed the rep to cancel the reservation & rebook the right date She then made request for a refund on the first reservation. She is a very valuable employee you are very fortunate to have her thank you so very much

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
