******Update***** Company did reach out and refunded my payment**** I was very happy they did so. Hopefully, they will update their cancellation policy or do better job at making it very clear so that the consumer is fully aware before completing purchase. I updated to 4 stars from 1 star since I am happy they made it right by the customer. Thanks again.

Original Complaint -
Company will not refund my cancellation that was made 1 hour after making the the reservation which was for hotel stay 25 days later. They sent a cancellation confirmation after I canceled the reservation but never reversed the charge. When I called in they said their cancellation policy is that their reservations are non-refundable.

I went on the Getaroom.com website (although nowhere did I see any mention of Getaroom.com nor Priceline) but it appeared to be Holiday Inn. This is the Getaroom.com's way to get $ from consumers who are cleverly led to believe they are booking a room directly with Holiday Inn.

After asking for a one night stay, and okaying the information online, and then only after approving the payment for one night, I received a confirmation that I was actually being charged for two nights and an additional fee of 41% was tacked on for a list of services and taxes. I immediately called them - within seconds of seeing what happened - but there was no willingness on their part to revise my reservation. I did not want to pay for two nights when I only needed one.

I opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which gives them a letter grade of D.

As of today, and over a period of 31 days, I have initiated or responded to thirteen (13) email messages from Getaroom.com. After 3 rounds of my initial complaints and with replies/rebuttals through the BBB, Getaroom.com claims to the BBB that they have no record of me even though I provided email confirmation and a screenshot of the transaction.

Simultaneously, I have finally heard from a complaint specialist at Getaroom.com who is investigating my transaction with a conditional resolution given that my credit card provider agrees to drop my disputed charges. So, they are negotiating with me as long as Barclay's Bank, with whom I have a Mastercard account, drops their investigation.

Meanwhile, Getaroom.com Case Management Department sends me an email each day telling me that if I do not respond within x number of days (x started at 5 days and gets smaller every day) they will automatically close my case, even though I have replied to every single email they send with complete information about my credit care transaction, my hotel stay, and my attempt to recover the $ they took from me.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that some resolution may be reached.

Our concert that was on 4/27 was cancelled this morning (4/25). They would not let me cancel or change my reservation date because they said I missed the deadline. They offered me a 10% discount. I am getting $38 out of $380 for a room I will not use. I will NEVER book through them again! I called the hotel directly and they said they would have changed the date but couldn't because I booked through a third party.

Somehow I was redirected, I have never used getaroom, Well, I made a reservation and cancelled 12 minutes later, the hotel stated that I could do it, on top of that, they ( the Hotel) sent a cancellation email stating that i was not going to be charged...surprise, surprise, I was charged anyway by getaroom and/or their associates, CI hotel*Hotel Res, and on the reservation email it stated that the reservation is is non refundable. I suppose that maybe they have the warning on the site I was redirected but, must be in a very little and fine print but on the reservation email was really clear.
So basically the hotel tells me no harm done and this guys take my money...rich!

My reservation number is R*******667 the bad experience was on 04/22/2023, I am going to report them to the BBB florida

Only good thing was the price.

I booked the room with relative ease, and unfortunately that was the best thing about the hotel, we arrive to check in and the room they put us in first has a tub that's half full of dirty water because it was clogged and tools on the bathroom floor. The room they moved us to had a tv that had the volume stuck too low to hear so we were unable to relax in the room. When I requested help from the front desk they said they would send maintenance, which never happened. There's also the issue of there not being a working pool or free breakfast in the morning, both of which are things I ALWAYS make sure are included when I book a hotel, yet when we were there we were offered nothing more than a %15 coupon for dennys, which kind of defeats the purpose of breaker being included with the room. The last issue was that at 1:30 in the morning my wife and I were woken up by gunshots that sounded like they were practicing right outside our window. I don't care how much of a discount if offered, this was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I could've pulled over at any number of motels on the side of the road and paid less for the same experience.

Made an online reservation for 2 nights in may 2023, no confirmation of charge upon completion. Restarted request again thinking there was a problem, but didn't submit for a second time but went to app to ck if charge was made. See in app I was double charged even though I didn't submit a second request. Called get a room.com and they cancelled one of the charges but charged me $1490.36 for their intential error charge I did not Submit which the say is their cancellation fee but I didn't complete and submit. I declined charge with Citibank after I called back to
Get a room.com and an unprofessional rep refused to help without charging me the cancellation fee. I asked for the supervisor to call me, but they did not call back. Next I will appeal to the hotel manager * at the Pelican Hotel. All of this done within hours of the charges by get a room.com. This is a SCAM I DID NOT SUBMIT SECOND REQUEST THEY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED ME AFTER STARTING THE SECOND REQUEST AND CHARDED ME A CANCELLATION PENALTY
$ 1490.36 for the identical same stay of a king delux ocean view room on the identical same dates

Phone wait time too long

When I called to cancel a reservatio, and make a new one with new dates. I had to wait 40 minutes for someone to pick up and help me. Once a customer care representative was with me, I was able to do everything I needed to do. Also the refund from the prior reservation was managed really well and fast

Rehlat didn't come through, even increasing my price, and upon calling, I got hotel booking direct for this property vs 3rd party, so I don't know what that was. I know payment never completed as same 1 did days prior, so I saw getaroom had their same initial prices plus my member discount, and it worked. Financial institution noticed nothing trying to come through, and now I got text for help booking, but believed to be direct property. No way. Whole point is to save via 3rd party vs direct. Rehlat is a? To me now, esp considering same card used to book here days ago no problem

I was redirected from what I thought was the hotel I wanted to book then charged full price after I realized it was getaroom.com. Shady AF then the refused to refund my $860 after 45 min on hold. Please stay away from this website. Here is the reservation #R*******465. For when they respond and act like they care.

This is the absolute worst experience I have EVER had. After booking with god knows that company on accident, I tried to cancel my reservation. They wouldn't allow me to and refused to let me speak to someone in a hire position. Lied and told me there is no one to speak to, the customer service person who answered the phone said there is no one in a higher position to talk to. Refused to actually tell me what company I was speaking with and refused to allow me to speak to someone else. The email they sent didn't come from getaroom. What a f****** joke! I was then put on hold and hung up on after 24 minutes.
