Called customer service for 3 days, no one ever answers phone. They booked me in a hotel in Indiana, but I requested a booking in Illinois. Not being able to reach anyone meant I was left with no room on Easter weekend. I started calling within 15 minute of recurving confirmation email to change states, but no one answers. Stay far away from this company

I booked a room but the catch was the date I wanted was not available so it automatically chose the date for me after paying. So I immediately called to cancel, I was on hold from 11:30 to 1:30 and now they are trying to read me the terms and conditions. They are now doing me a favor and reaching out to see if they can cancel but I will still get charged the recovery of 58. What a joke. Never again. I attached a screenshot of just one call. Definitely going to the better business bureau on this. As well our company will not be using this site as well hopefully spread the word to stay away.

Recently booked ahead for 4/7-4/9. Could never contact resort after booking for or pre check- in information. Check in lines were almost out the door. Housekeeping were cleaning out rooms with items left on carts. Hair every where in the room reserved. Laminate floors not clean. Got placed in a room right above pool area during spring break weekend. Went to management to make them aware. I left lobby with no resolve. Worst experience I ever had booking at a beach resort.

Made a reservation with getaroom unknowingly (thought this was the hotel number). Now at hotel and the front staff say that no payment has been received yet my credit card was charged by getaroom. I could not get my rooms unless I paid again. This is unacceptable. We have called customer service which apparently is supposed to offer 24/7 service but no one has answered. We have been on hold for more than 25 minutes. When we emailed *******@hotelvalues.com for help the message could not be delivered. This is a scan company.

Noticed a charge on my credit card for this company for 272.00. Contacted the customer service department who quoted me a wrong e-mail address and informed me that I agreed to the terms and conditions, ONLY PROBLEM IS I DIDN'T. I informed them that I never booked, never gave my credit card and never signed anything. Again they sent a long blubbering e-mail back that included that they sent me an e-mail verification code only problem is it WASN'T my email. This company is a scam. I called the Hotel that I supposably reserved a room and they said somebody called and canceled it and no one even reserved the room. This company absolutely refused to help. I was scammed out of this money either by this company or an outside person but I am paying the price. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
****** I would like to edit this post because Getaroom reached out to me immediately after seeing this review and looked at my case. They contacted me and we resolved this immediately. I will say as frustrated as I was their customer service department came thru and it was resolved as promised.

I booked this room online, for the Suoer 8 in Macon, GA; then I had a family emergency that prevented me from using my reservation. I went to the hotel the next day whenever I was free from the hospital to explain what had happened and asked that, perhaps they would still honor my stay for another date. They said that I'd have to contact the third party provider (getaroom.com). I contacted them and after lengthy holds, transfers from desk to desk...they said they were sorry, but I wouldn't be able to move dates and they referred me back to the physical property for further assistance. I returned to the Super 8 and spoke with the manager, Jennifer, and she said that they wouldn't be able to move dates either and that I was out of the money we paid for our room! We never checked in, got keys and I feel cheated. Situations arise, emergencies happens and one would think that when they do, that companies would be compassionate and that good old customer service would take priority over profits!

I booked a room that i thought was through the hotel page but wasnt. I accepted the charges my mistake and continued to hotel. After i noticed i was charged by the hotel as well. When i called the hotel they said they didnt recieve payment from Getaroom. Then i call getaroom asking for a refund, and they confirmed that their payment was not processed. Now over a month later I am still waiting for a resolution. No update or call back, horrible customer service and definitely a scam company

While searching for a hotel room at the last minute I started a reservation with getaroom. After I entered my payment info, but BEFORE I completed the reservation, I noticed the $200 service fee. As soon as hit the cancel tab the site push the reservation thru and charged me for it. Within a minute, I called customer support and was told repeatedly that the reservation could not be cancelled. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was told none were available and that she could get me a callback number to contact them. It's been 3 days, no callback.
Update: After a few days I was contacted by customer support and was given a partial refund from the service fee. I had already used my reservation and while they had no obligation to do anything about my situation, they did it anyhow. Mistakes happen, they compensated me fairly for it when they didn't have to. They made it right.

Thought I was making reservations with a national brand hotel. Made the reservation, did not pick up that they billed in advance. It was for 5 days. Had to check out on the 4th day to return home. Hotel checked me out and indicated no balance, suspicion enter my mind. Check my AMX bill when we arrived home and found a charge for the 5 nights. Called to rectify. The dance began. A big run around. Hotel confirmed a lower price than the charge. Hotel stated they would authorize a part of the charge for 1 day, but it would go back to getaroom, then it was my issue. Have not heard from them. They got me 2x over $300. Suggest that if make a reservation with a hotel join the hotel frequent traveler club, make reservation through them. With all of the complaints I have read from many states it seems that this is an inter-state legal issue. Surprised that the brand hotels honor them as a business partner taking the reservation.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
