On Kayak, Skyscanner and their own website, they offer "Free Cancellation" with no asterisk, fine print or direction elsewhere but apparently it is not free cancellation. If you cancel, they do not refund your money but put your money into a "Credit Wallet" that can only be used on their site for future bookings. When I noticed this new policy that they email you AFTER you pay, I immediately requested to cancel my reservation and get a refund. After several emails and calls to customer service, I was emailed cancellation/refund instructions but after I followed those I was charged $67 for a refund! How is this free cancellation? It's not, it's false advertising. Disputing with my credit card company but Booking Group (which is not part of Booking Holdings like I thought) is justifying their scheme by hiding the fees in arbitrary sections of their terms and conditions, which are intentionally place next to the car rental provider's logo in order to make it appear as if it's the actual rental car company's terms and not EconomyBookings' own terms. Very dishonest company, avoid!
They don't respond, they take your money, the fine print of the contract is misleading. Prefer to pay more somewhere else than take the risk with these thieves

Worst experience we had with them. We booked a car from them and the amount was deducted from the bank but when we went to pick up the car that was not available and they said we had to pay more we still had time so we canceled our booking and they said they will return our money but still waiting even they are not responding to our email now. Will never recommend them to anyone they have worst service and they don't care about customers

Cancelled my car reservation in less than 24h. And get charged for 60$ Euro for credit card refund. There's not where that mentioned clearly that there's a 60$ when I process the booking. And it's shameful to use fine print tactics to fool customers! Avoid this company at all costs!

I've been using economy bookings for a while now and I never got disappointed with the service. I would tough recommend to tune the app as I find it very difficult to use and keep my login and booking information there, I always end going to the website version.

It is a marketing game. They lure you into their rental office (away from the Miami airport) with a very low price and they tell you at the counter that you are required to purchase additional insurance for $350.
THE CAR RENTAL COMPANY WILL NOT RESPECT THE CONTRACT BECAUSE YOU ARE RESERVING ONLINE WITH THEM.

On, November 15th, I went to book a car, got the rate and entered my Credit Card, after entering the total increased from the posted rate.I immediately call support and booking and emailed them with my concerns. The directed me to cancel and I did and they charge my visa over 400 USD.I called the, back immediately and they said there is nothing they can do, I have 11 emails sent to them with the concerns and they were not helpful. I read their refund policy 4.1 and they should have given back all the money. There are 2 concerns here. They charged me a different amount vs.the quoted amount, and then charged my visa anyhow, I never did get the rental and this is not my first time renting a car from the. So not sure why they are not able to address my concerns for the refund. I have called them and wrote them without satisfaction, I will be moving toward legal action if they cannot address my concerns. This is very disappointing and I will never rent for them again, and will be notifying others of this poor situation.

Took my money and never got back to me. I booked a car rental with economybookings and later wanted to extend the booking a few days. I called and they told me to cancel the first booking and reschedule the longer booking. He was rushing me off the phone but I felt uneasy canceling the original booking so asked him to stay on and walk me through it. Once I canceled I confirmed with him and then he realized he made a mistake. I lost my original non-refundable booking and $500. He told me to contact support and they never got back to me. I tried emailing and calling with no answer or solution. Point of story: Don't book with them, terrible customer service and poor booking experience.

They do not specify prior to confirming the booking that you will need a credit card on file as collateral. They only state it after you confirm the rental.
The service agent Ali also mentioned to me that they do not have any higher ups.
He referred me to contact the support center via email which takes 2-4 days to respond.

This site is a scam! Spent an hour on the phone with customer service when our car wasn't here and no record of it. Turns out it's at another airport in another city! Alice in customer service should be fired. Rude, disrespectful, refused to help in any capacity or pass it on to a manager/supervisor, and kept threatening to hang up because we were "wasting her time". Her time?! The company has $600 of our money! She hung up on us. We are stranded and out the money. Buyer beware!

You would think a company whose entire service is for people after a flight would be more helpful for a delayed flight. They require their money up front and don't care about you at all once they get that. After multiple calls and was informed they would hold my car for me, I got in at 2am and waited for the rental company to open at 5 only to be informed they did not hold it

I booked a car through Economy Bookings and made a prepayment of 87 USD and then arrived on the date and time at Nelly Car rental in Punta Cana and they said sorry we don't have a car for you and we don't see any prepayment. Either I take a car that is more expensive or nothing. No money back and no other car to rent. I had to call the police and went to the police station to file a complaint against Nelly Car for mistreatment and theft.

It's not rly free cancelation. Upon cancelling you will receive 60% of your money and the rest will remain credit on account. You can request to get that credit refunded too but they will charge you Eur60 resource fee. WHAT a Joke! They tell you FREE Cancelation but it's a partial refund.

Dec 2023 I had to pay an extra $3.06 per day to guarantee the ability to cancel the reservation within one hour of pick up time. This guarantees a full refund. I've never seen this charge before. It is RIDICULOUS to charge this fee. We rent cars all the time. If we are supposed tp pay a full payment up front that is non-refundable, we won't rent. If the rental is guaranteed with full refunds upon cancellation--with no fees up front--we will rent. AGAIN, A RIDICULOUS CHARGE.

Answer: They do not just delay. When something goes wrong, they never intend to make good ony any of their promises: they do not call or write back, they do not follow up, and sure as hell they do not pay you anything unless you force them to, and that (in my experience) can only be done via the courts. This company is rotten and everyone should stay away from them.
Answer: Economy Booking is based in Europe and is impossible to deal with. I would never use them again. I got my money back (the down payment taken off at the time of booking) by using better Business Bureau and going after the US rental company.
