Dell's reputation has significantly declined, with many customers expressing dissatisfaction with both product quality and customer service. While some users appreciate the performance of their devices when functioning properly, a pervasive sentiment reveals frustrations over receiving incorrect products, unresolved technical issues, and inadequate support. Customers frequently report long wait times, ineffective assistance, and poor communication from service representatives. The overall trend indicates a growing discontent with the company's responsiveness and reliability, prompting many former loyal customers to seek alternatives. This feedback highlights a critical need for Dell to enhance its customer service and product quality to regain trust.

I purchased a Dell Inspiron in December of 2013. Within the first 2 weeks, the mother board and CD drive had to be replaced.
I also have a battery that won't charge and today the display started failing and going black. This is my 3rd Dell and each one I get is worst than the one before. I called Dell one day after my warranty ran out to talk to them and they won't speak to you without money. I tried to get to a manager but they just transferred me around for 45 minutes and I finally gave up.
Today I purchased my second HP laptop, I know the service will be better and I the hardware can't be worst. I also talked one of my friends out of buying the Dell she was going to buy.
I bought a TV in a deal from Dell. Its on the way. Came to know its a bad TV.
I am trying to contact them to stop the shipping, but not able to reach the customer support. Once it reaches me, they have 15% re-stocking fees.
Called them - 20 minutes wait. Hang up
Chat - you are 105th in queue.
Trying from 3 days now.
Wow. What a customer support.
Like many gamers who are short on money, I took one look at Dell's advantage rewards program, boasting that pre orders on popular video games would also include gift cards up to 25$. This sounded like an awesome deal, so back in September I pre ordered a game waiting for my gift card code to arrive in my email. Their website claimed we would receive it within 10-20 days. Ok, that seems a bit long but whatever, cant really complain about free money. Fast forward 20 days and still no gift card, at which point I contacted customer service, which took 3 hours for me to be connected to anyone. It was a Monday, and I'm sure they were backed up with other calls, so I'll give them a pass. However the man I talked to, named ajay, was useless and didn't no jack s#$t. He started arguing with me about how long it took for the gift card to arrive, at which point he finally, after 30 minutes of talking, said it would take 20 days after my ordered shipped for them to send it. Ok, why didn't they have that on their website? No word of it anywhere. Fast forward now to 40 days and I received my card, and it has an experation date. WTF?! What kind of gift card expires? Whatever, it expired in 4 months, plenty of time to use it. Well, this morning, a whole month before it expires, I tried to use it, and guess what? The gift card works, however the balance is 0.00$ Thats right, I never once used it, and it tells me I have no money. At this point I dont care, I'm not going to bother with customer service, but I will never buy from Dell again, and I urge you not to either.
This is the second computer that I have bought from Dell online. My first one was a desktop which worked great but was outmoded (used floppy discs). It was still working fine, The Dell Inspiron laptop that I bought this year works great. Customer service, sales, technicians. And everyone I spoke with at Dell were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I will buy Dell again when needed.
My last desktop was a dell that I had for 4 years only having moderate usage. When it bricked out I decided to keep with Dell and get the replacement from them. Big mistake! The service was terrible trying to purchase the thing since I had to contact customer support multiple times while ordering with website issues. I finally get my order placed and 3 weeks go by with nothing... I give them a call and they can't find an order for me anywhere, despite me being charged! I had to be escalated 3x to be told that the item I ordered became out of stock the day after I was charged, and my order went to limbo... I find this very unacceptable that nobody reached out to me about it. In the end I was fully refunded and the whole thing was a wash. While the last supervisor was very helpful, hence 3 stars, I refuse to ever go to Dell again. I got an acer laptop from walmart that barely processes at half the speed of gravity... I will need to replace within the year, and will probably go with HP!
I buy a lot of business grade pc's thru Dell and I am not often disappointed. They are very stable and well built. They are easy to maintain and Support is well laid out and useful on their website.
I do think they can be deceptive in their sales. Often they will have a coupon sale for an item like 30% off. However, they usually just increase the price of the item accordingly so there are no real savings.
Had an issue with my hard drive and I called Dell with a quick question about it and their response was "your hd failed, would you like to purchase a new one through us". I am in school for cyber-sec so I knew that not to be true, after continuously working on my computer I discovered the issue and my computer is working without purchasing a new hd. The technicians do not have much knowledge except for searching google.
Also when you call it sounds like a bunch of people shoved in a room having a party, you can barely hear the person you are speaking with on the phone.
Good customer service but hardware issues rises too much. I purchased dell inspiron last year in october and till now i have faced so many issues in my laptop even within the warranty period... everytime i need to call on customer care, they send their executive and the problem sorted out. But my main concern is that very soon warranty date is going to expire, and if the issues still persist... the dell will empty my pocket..
I ordered a soundbar system worth $324.33. I told representative to use $290 worth Gift Card and charge remaining balance on my card. She confirmed me that she used $290 from GC and remaining $34.33 will be charged on my CC. After 2 days, I see my CC was charged $324.33 and my gift cards were not used at all. When I called them about this, the online representative told me that the charge has already been processed and cannot be change and told me to use my Gift Cards for some other products of theirs. This is my second worst experience with them where first they sent my parcel at wrong even though I verified my address twice with the online representative.
I dont know if it's a lot or not too long, but it worked and that's that. Died when i spilled coffee on it.
Dell is an excellent computer company. They are trusted and well known. I like Dell laptops since they help you realize the order build your team according to user needs. The technical support is excellent and so on comes onto the market.
DELL computers are garbage. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either getting paid to lie to you, or they're ignorant. I'm a PC Technician and Systems Librarian and have been systematically purging all of the DELL machines from my library.
I have been a Dell customer for sometime now. My personal and Official Laptops are dell, Experience have been average. But I would like to highlight on this laptop-Dell Latitude E7440- this is a strict no, a complete no. Complaints all round and its horribly slow and performance is poor. Infact my entre organization is switching to Lenovo because of the the horrible experience of this laptop by all managers.
Pros-Slim look
Cons-Everything else, damn slow. 1month aged laptop takes 15 to 20 minutes to shut down.
I owned 5 laptops in my life and currently work on dell. My dell laptop is the best one i have ever had!
I have owned several in the past and they are average. Not easy to get a hold of tech support.
Mostly with customer service. Not to mention that I had problems with my screen pretty much right after I bought it. They repaired it and I had the same issue again in a few weeks.
Well... I used to love Dell... not anymore... Dell sucks!.
I had to replace the hard drive on my Dell laptop... it died.
I called Dell to get a recovery CD and for the OS and drivers... and I was told... the system is out of warranty... nothing they can do... and I was even told look on EBay.
This is ridiculous, expecially because to save $ 0.10 DELL does not include a recovery CD with a new system, so if the crappy hard drive installed dies... YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK ( and will have to buy a NEW Windows operating system from Microsoft).
If you are in the market for a new laptop. KEEP THIS IN MIND!
In the last 2 years I have had the same scenario with an HP laptop ( even older then my DELL), and a 7 years old FUJITSU tablet. And guess what... HP shipped the recovery CD, no charge, right away.
Fujitsu charged $ 15.00.
Well... atleast my machines were back in a working mode in no time.
Dell... just you do not cut it anymore... LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR CUSTOMERS!.
I am sure this is not what Michael Dell had in mind when he took back the company.
Just do not let DELL and any sales person bamboozle you... do your home work!... and keep this in mind!
After a lot of research, thoughtful consideration, and then a hesitant decision, I purchased this and now I am wondering why I waited so long! Rapid delivery, in a double boxed package for a confidential delivery, was no surprise because Amazon is known (and appreciated!) for this.
The ease of set-up was noted, and all my devices were automatically recognized and...
I ordered a tablet just after the holidays and the expected delivery date has passed, when I contact Purolator who was handling the shipping they told me they didn't even have the item. When I contact Dell, not only did I wait 2 hours to speak to someone, they refused to provide any details in regards to who ships from their facility to the Canadian boarder and couldn't even confirm the package had in fact shipped. The representative just kept saying to wait 24 hours and kept trying to give me a service number. This was the worst experience I've had with any major company
Dell provided the quality products like, Mouse CPU, and more instruments related to the computer. Awesome
Answer: Not upto the mark... felt few hadrware technician are newly appointed were not ble to understand as well as answer the query.
Answer: Cause dell is a complete scam. I regret buying one. Wasted almost a thousand dollars.
Answer: I did. I bought a machine that had hardware issues right out of the box and returned it within the 30-day window. They refunded me 100% of what I'd paid, no problem.
