They baited me in with special rates and never fully disclosed that they were a 3rd party. In the middle of the booking I was sure to state that I wanted to be able to cancel so they informed me a new more expensive rate to allow for 100% cancellation. When I called back to cancel they would not fully refund me and kept $19.99 as a service fee. Now I'm out $19.99. Its not the money that bothers me and that I just got taken to the cleaners by a 3rd party that operates their call center outside of the USA.
I just spent a total of 45 minutes trying to understand someone with a strong accent who was apparently in a room full of screaming children. First I had to book a hotel, then I had to call back and change the reservation. I couldn't hear the representative and when I could I couldn't understand them. Both making the reservation and cancelling it took way too long. Horrible experience!
Reservations.com stole $400 from me. I reserved a prepaid and non-refundable reservation with Super 8 in NY. Due to COVID, the wedding I was attending was postponed, and I needed to cancel or move the reservation out by a year. They said they would cancel and request a refund. They never canceled in a timely fashion, and the refund took 2 months for them to request. By then, the hotel (unaware that I had cancelled or wanted a change in date) did not agree to the refund the reservations. Reservations.com said I had no recourse. If I had booked with the hotel directly, I could have easily changed the reservation or cancelled and refunded.
They sneak in a $19 service fee and this is non-refundable. Horrible customer service! They wouldn't work with you at all! Very disappointing!
The $20 service fee was not disclosed. They took the full amount of my reservation out before I got off the phone, but my refund from a canceled reservation will take 7 to10 days! Customer service doesn't listen to the customer but reads from a script. They won't even talk to you about canceling your reservation unless it is 7 days or less from first stay date so they hold on to your money.
Was not informed of hidden fees and never given an opportunity to review the purchase. After inputting my information and card number was just instantly charged $40 extra. No warning and no explanation. Attempted to cancel within 5 minutes and was treated horribly! Do not use these people! They are horrible! There are tons of others. Pick literally any one of them and it will be better than these scammers!
Their non-refundable charge is hidden in the small print. This is a SCAM and even if you cancel a reservation within minutes of making it, you will not get all your money back! DO NOT use this website!
I wish I would have just booked my room through the actual hotel, but when I googled the hotel to get the direct website, reservations.com page comes up first and I clicked on the reservations site instead of the hotel home site. Big mistake. My plans changed last minute and the customer service for reservations is the worst. They will not help you and expect you to read every single small print they have. Worst customer service and will not help their customers and will keep your money. There are no supervisors or managers that have answers. They just tell you sorry we can't help you. I would think that during covid business would be more helpful and be better about customer service. DO NOT BOOK A TRIP THROUGH THIS WEBSITE! Double check that you are making your reservation directly through the hotel site.
Went to the Country Inn & Suites website. I thought I was calling the Country Inn reservation number. I called back and cancelled my reservation 20 minutes later. They still charged me a $19.99 service fee. They charged my credit card for the room. They told me that my fund would take up to 30 days! I'm hoping a get it!
This company made it seem like I was making a reservation directly with the hotel only to be charged double my room rate. Then was told no refund..
I was totally unaware that I was booking through reservations.com. They charged me well over $100 a night for a room that I could have walked in and booked for $65 after sending their quote customer service which they could do nothing for me. They were rude obnoxious and the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my almost 70 years
I reserved with them online and once I realized that they are charging in U.S. currency, I cancelled the reservation but got charged twice for making one reservation. I did not realize that there was a fee regardless if you reserve or cancel the reservation. It is totally ridiculous. It is theft. Ethically it is not right. There should be a one time courtesy no charge fee reversal if this situation happens. I am not the only one. I should have read the reviews first. They are scammers
I wish I could, the company and it's employees are a big fat ZERO. PLEASE BEWARE... They let you think that you are calling the hotel directly, they tell you all fee's and taxes are included and then you find out, you owe another $34 per/day for the resort fee! WTF! After I did some more research the following day, found out the A&$^( overcharged me $70 per day higher than the hotel. I paid $355 for 1 night in a 2 bd rm suite + resort fee's and if I had gone directly to the hotel, it would have been $283 FINAL COST. They wouldn't do a thing for me after explaining how I was mislead... PAY ATTENTION AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT USING THIS COMPANY. Call direct or better online travel sites like EXPEDIA, HOTELS.COM, TRAVELOCITY, BUT NOT RESERVATIONS.COM
You guys suck, you're what's wrong with Corporate America, wait, the call center is not even in AMERICA!
Good luck understanding these SCAMMERS! OVERCHARGED + FEE'S = RESERVATIONS.COM
I was booking a room with Drury Inn. It switched to reservations.com. You think you are booking with the hotel but you are not. You receive a non refundable reservation. I hope people read these reviews before they accidentally reserve a room.
I made a reservation for Comfort Suites DFW through reservations.com. What a disaster! Were never told about the $19.99 fee, but was reversed after they listened to the tape. Called Comfort Suites over 25 times with no answer. Couldn't get the shuttle to come for me. Cancelled the reservation with the representative from reservations.com, yet was still charged. Contacted customer service twice and was told a refund would happen, but never did. Dishonest company, dishonest representatives and dishonest customer service. DO NOT USE RESERVATIONS.COM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
Accidentally made reservation at one hotel. 15 minutes later released it was the wrong location. Called Reservations.com and they said too bad - no refund. 15 minutes later! And kept my money.
Was scheduled for brain-injury surgery - booked and paid for 2 rooms. I thought I was booking with hotel and not another company.
My surgery was cancelled a day beforehand. When I talked to them I was told too late - no refund.
I didn't want to lose that money so was convinced best route was to make it an open-date booking which ended up costing as much as original booking. When I came to my senses I cancelled that and demanded a refund. That came the next week.
I know I should not have trusted them with the agent having a yappy little dog in the background and the sound cutting out.
RUN LIKE HECK AWAY FROM RESERVATIONS.COM
During the wildfires in Oregon, my daughter was in an evacuation zone. I booked her a room for three nights on what I thought was the Howard Johnson's website further north where she would be safe until the fires were under control. I was told we could cancel before 6pm without penalty but when I went to cancel they told me I was not within their cancellation policy. I was out over $350.00. I was across the continent, during a pandemic and trying to help my daughter. Be very careful when booking online. Some how during the reservation process, I was transferred to a "Third Party" site and that is where the problem came in. DO NOT USE RESERVATIONS.COM FOR ANY TRAVEL. I got passed around on phone calls with multiple people for over 4 hours in a two day period and no one would help me. BUYER BEWARE!
First of all, they make you think you're booking with the hotel, I did ask about earning points in a Marriott hotel but they mislead me. I consider the agent was not clear answering my questions, he didn't address properly my concerns, I got confused and ended up booking with them and paying fees and extra money. I think, since I am not a native English speaker I was in disadvantage. They don't have ethics, no manners. I was not sure about booking and I felt some pressure booking. I felt cheated by the agent. Never book with them. Zero stars, stay away!
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They are a fraud! Charging fees they don't tell you about until you hang up the phone and see your email. Nonrefundable charge and offer no service. Total Scam. They make you a reservation and charge 19.99 Service Fee with no up front mention of that. Zero customer service. Book through the hotel directly and be careful when you call as they make you think you're making the reservation directly to the hotel. Be sure you're calling the Hotel Directly. Very misleading and just ripping you off.
