We made reservations we thought directly with the Queen Mary Hotel in Long Beach California on 7-29-2020 for check in on October 19,2020. The Hotel cancelled our reservation with reservations.com on 10-6-2020 and we never received one word from the hotel or reservations.com about the cancellation. I did credit all but $19.99 of our prepaid reservation. When asked for a credit of 19.99 I was told they could not refund that since it was their fee. I feel that since they did not notify us that the Hotel cancelled our reservation that I don't owe them a dime.
I was actually lied to! AFTER being hijacked online, I asked the operator if they were Hilton.com.
She said "yes"!
STAY AWAY! Even if you cancel they keep your $19.99. That fee was NEVER disclosed. I'm writing the FCC.
BEWARE!
I booked a hotel and didn't receive a confirmation because they had recorded my email addy wrong.
Found out when I arrived at the hotel that I was double-booked. The hotel owner refused to refund and said I had to deal with reservations.com. I called them and found out that my email address was recorded wrong so I didn't get the confirmation or I would have cancelled the second booking.
I was told it would be 5-7 business days for them to do the investigation for refund. When I did not hear back from them I called again and was told it would take another day. I still did not hear back and am now on my 5th call to them and being told it will be 5-7 business days to do the investigation - again!
Crooks and scammers!
People who you speak with at this company don't understand which destination they are booking you. You asked for booking in US and they will book you in Canada and still ask you to pay for the incorrect reservation done by them. Once the mistake has happened from them, their customer service will simply take you for a good ride of transferring you from one department to another. Out of frustration you will have to give up. Don't book through this company. A complete no no!
Reservations.com is a scam. They have hidden fees, reprehensible customer service and refuse to refund money owed. They think they can wear you down by putting you in a never ending loop of promised calls, promised refunds, then putting you on hold until you give up. They are crooks
They do not disclose their fees and the reservation will cost much more than going through the hotel website!
In hurring to make a reservation to attend a family funeral, I too quickly used Reservations.com and ended up getting charged $60.00 in fees without any disclosure, half of the initial room rate. In calling within literally 5 minutes of making my reservation, I was told I was stuck, there would not be any refunds. Terrible people, couldn't even understand their speech. Just call your hotel directly! Hampton Inn in Dodge City, KS said they have had many complaints about Reservations.com and recommended to stay away. Dishonest company! Steal your money!
My husband and I needed a hotel in Laramie wy. Used this site. They charged 19.99 with no disclosure of fees. Have disputed with cc. This is horrible. No disclosure no receipt. Please be aware
Please do not book with this company they are very misleading. They don't speak good English and they don't book the hotels correctly then when you want to change it, they have hidden fees they won't refund. Please stay away from this company!
I booked a hotel room through Reservations.com and paid with a debit card. I checked my account this morning and in addition to the regular room charge and taxes I had been charged a separate "customer service" fee of $19.99. I called customer service and was told that they could cancel, but I would still have to pay the $19.99. When I was booking, I deliberately chose the option that allowed for what I thought would be a "no consequence" cancellation. This is a very unreliable company. Seem to be making it up as they go along.
Incidentally this customer service? I had to call 3 times before I got a person. First 2 times the phone just rang interminably. Please don't waste your time with them, because you will ultimately be throwing your money away. There are plenty of reputable companies out there.
I placed a Reservation at a local Hotel for a family member for (3) nights through Reservations. Com. Two hours later I was informed by this family member the reservation would not work and I called to cancel. I can understand that the reservation starting that evening would NOT be refunded but the other two nights should have been per the disclosure on the reservation confirmation. I was charged a total of $455.88 and NOT one penny was refunded! This reservation service is a total scan and rip off. No not waste your money or time by booking through Rservatons.com. They do not honor their terms
Thank you,
Sunniek
This is by far the WORSE company to deal with over the phone! I could not keep my reservation due to a HURRICANE SALLY! They don't give you back your money, a processing fee I get that but the other 1/2 of your money. They constantly hung up on you put you on hold, still sounded like the same foreign person who doesn't speak very good English! I'm NOT through with them yet! I rate them a negative 10!
I thought I was going to the Marriott site and got sent to Reservtion.com site. Unwittingly I started a reservation but did not complete it. Having made this mistake before they may have had my credit card on file but somehow a reservation was made. The charge was about $61 higher than booking with the hotel directly. And I don't get the Marriott points! It's just not practical to make reservations this way. After many emails, the billing dept. has notified me that they are refunding the full amount. Now I will wait and see if they are honest and indeed follow through with the refund.
First, I would not give reservations.com 1/5 fives stars, they deserve a ZERO out of 5 stars. This company is a scam please stay away from ever booking from them. I recently booked a one night, king-sized bedroom at the
Hyatt Nashville Downtown Hotel. When I called on the phone to book this room they offered me a "discounted rate" of $141.55. The lady I spoke on the phone with talked way too fast when she mentioned the taxes. When she told me the total and booked it, I immediately told her to cancel the reservation. I was charged a Room Total of $141.55, Taxes & Fees: $53.43, Sub Total: $194.98, and their bs Service Fee of $19.99. This totaled to $214.97. That's right my total for a one night king bed was $214.97. So I immediately asked to cancel my reservation and I was transferred to another lady. The cancelation lady offered me a -$20 subtraction to reservation if I changed my mind right that second to continue my reservation and not cancel it. I obviously still canceled it because of the hidden fees, rip-offs, and scams. So I was told everything was 100% refundable. When I called them back I noticed a $20 charge on my account and told them to refund it. They told me this was their service fee and it was non-refundable. STAY away from these scammers please. This is the WORST hotel reservation business out there!
We recently went online to reserve a room at a Marriott hotel. I thought I was on the Marriott site, which is what Reservations.com wanted me to think. I ended up paying a $20 service fee & a higher room rate. Never again
Terrible company to work with, associated with Expedia. Booked the hotel at $69.00 add tax of $9.66 total room cost $78.66, the bill total came to $105.00. In addition to their fee of 19.99, or 29% of the room cost there are additional fees that no one can tell me what they are. Tried to cancel and they said it was able to because the hotel would not allow it.
Called the hotel and they said they have a 24 hour cancelation policy and said I should call Expedia because that is who they show the booking was through. He also explained that the reservation company gets a commission on top of the fees they charged me.
Expedia absolutely no help, by the time they got me hooked back up to help me with the cancelation even though they would stay on the line they did not. The computer generated cancelation did give me the option to cancel for $85.00.
If I ever see this in my browser I will run away as fast as I can. Nothing good to say about this company.
RESERVATIONS.COM "SUCKS" AND THEY ARE A PIECE OF CRAP BUSINESS. SHAME ON BOOKING.COM OR ANY OTHER HOTEL BOOKING ESTABLISHMENTS FOR USING THIS BUSINESS.
While attempting to book a reservation on the hotel's website I was redirected to reservations.com without my knowledge. My sisters booked rooms at the same hotel but for a significantly lower rate and brought this to my attention. It was only when I checked my reservation that I realized it was not made directly through the hotel's site. Reservations.com should be ashamed of themselves for misleading and scamming people. I ended up losing 19.99 for a "service fee" that they refused to refund back to me. BE CAREFUL WHEN MAKING A HOTEL RESERVATION THAT YOU DON'T GET SCAMED BY RESERVATIONS.COM LIKE I DID!
My wife reserved a room by phone with them. She was never told that there were fees for reservations. Steep fees. And that they bill you right away even if your reservation is for a room 10 months later. NEVER EVER DOING BUSINESS WHIG THEM. LESSON LEARNED.
Screwed up and wasn't paying attention. I could have went directly to the hotel site I was buying. I thought I was. But somehow I didn't realize I was on reservation.com. They charge 19.99 for hijacking the actual internet page you meant to go to. Should be illegal, but it is somewhat my fault for not paying attention. It is actually a scam because they have no affiliation with any hotel you purchase, and would not be able to help you in any way.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
