Unknown Recurring Charges

I used the publicrecords.info site once to get some information that I did receive. The price was $1. Unbeknownst to me, I ended up getting recurring monthly charges on my credit card for $5. I didn't see or make any agreement to subscribe to the service.
The only reason I am even giving this site three stars is because the Live Chat to close my account was handled nicely and quickly with a refund of $5 to my credit card for the month I was incorrectly charged,
Sneaky sites like this (buried fine print, I suppose) should be outlawed.

I was unable to get what I wanted, several charges were "offered" but the basic information was not on the property I inquired about. I did, however, appreciate reaching a live person through chat - which is why I didn't give it a lower review (the person would have made it a *****).
