We made a reservation to travel from US to Stockholm and made purchases for seats and baggage. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our trip due to some conflicts. This was done well within 24 hours.
The customer representative refunded us ticket fare and seat reservation fee but said that baggage fee is not refundable according to airline policy. And that we need to contact Iceland Air for it. So, we agreed to the refund amount (total - baggage - service fee) as we thought we will talk to the airline and sort that out.
When we called the airline, they said they do not see a receipt on their end for baggage and that we should contact Go To Gate. On our second call with Go To Gate, is when we realized that the baggage is being purchased from Go To Gate and is not refundable.
A service fee was charged to process the trip cancellation. Why is baggage fee ($228) not being refunded for a travel that was cancelled within 24 hrs? How is withholding this fee justifiable for a trip not taken? When we were making the reservation on the website, nowhere was it mentioned that the fee is nonrefundable under any circumstance.

I had a very disappointing experience with Go to Gate. I purchased a ticket that included additional baggage, only to be later informed that they couldn't provide the extra baggage due to a technical error. They processed a refund for the baggage only, but since I cannot travel without it, I requested the cancellation of my entire reservation and a full refund. Instead of taking responsibility, their support tried to shift the blame onto the airline to avoid accountability. Despite my follow-up emails, I received no response, and their customer support refused to escalate the issue to a manager or discuss the situation with the airline.
Even after I finished my conversation with support, I received a survey link with options that clearly indicated I did not want to take the survey!
Based on my horrible experience, I would not recommend their service at all.
I purchased a ticket with wrong date. My mistake 100%. However, when I contact GoToGate to make the change within one hour of purchase, I was told that it wasn't possible. I had a pay a fee in order to change or cancel the trip. Other travel sites and airlines allow free change or cancellation within 24 hour period.
I booked the R/T air tickets for both of us from LAX to Paris. The face value of price appeared reasonable, but the purchase of seats is little too costly especially seniors like us as compared to industry standard. So, I ended up paying $312 just to book the seats. I would request you to please reconsider the charges and bring it back to industry standard. (Between $50-$60) The website is however user friendly.
