Booking through TripAdvisor was very easy and GetARoom had the best price for our hotel room. I ended up having to cancel the reservation and re-book for a different weekend, and Michael (customer service rep) was extremely helpful, polite, and efficient. The process was very easy, and I ended up getting the same price as the original room. Very satisfied!
I was led to believe I was dealing with Hilton Reservations direct. Because of this I do not receive my Hilton Honors points.
It was not made clear what currency I was going to be paying in, so to realise at the end AFTER I had made the payment this at it was US as opposed to AUD, is irritating. I live in Australia, therefore expect to pay in AUD.

When I attempted to reserve a room, somehow the dates changed that I was requesting, giving me a nonrefundable room on a date I did not want. I called Get room customer service group and they were very professional and polite in working to resolve my issue. I got my refund plus they set up the correct reservation. Thanks.
Booked a hotel for 3 nights via phone, but they overcharged me, didn't send me confirmation email and had to call again for this, they booked me a smoker room when I specifically asked for a non smoker. I was told that I can cancel 24 hrs prior to my arrival as I double checked this only to discover after my cancelation that it was not refundable and since then I have been fighting with them as I was charged over $600 CND. NEVER AGAIN... SCAMMERS... they mislead you and give you the impression that they work with the hotel. Wished I had seen their reviews prior to my booking...
I thought the deal we got on trip advisor was to good to be true. Unfortunately I reserved the room before reading all the negative reviews about get a room. After reading all the reviews I got really nervous. However I think the people that have a problem are the ones who either call and talk a representative to reserve their room or they try and cancel their reservation past the slotted time to cancel. I reseved my room from my trip advisor app on my cell phone. I got the exact deal I reserved for the best price available and enjoyed my stay. The only thing that was scary was get a room charged my card as soon as I reserved the room. I was not disappointed at all with the room. I am grateful that I took the time to find the best price available. I saved about 350 dollars by booking with get a room.
Received such a good deal for a large room with two beds in a great location in NYC that I assumed it was an error on the website. Unbelievable price and savings started a fantastic trip on the right foot.
After my last bad review, I was promised a refund. They said it would take 3 or 4 weeks. That was about 6 weeks ago. I think the promise was designed to get me to change my bad review. I was waiting for the refund to change the review. Still no refund.
I mistakenly booked a room for the wrong date, discovered it within 24 hours and could not get any help in changing the date. Hotel couldn't help either because I used this site. I've lost $300. I'll book with the hotel from now on.
GetARoom called me back... fixed my problem... refunded $55 which I lost through this process... so... that part is good!
On Sunday January 7th I, while driving in a blizzard on I-90 in NY... I had my son look up local hilton hotels in Auburn, NH. Rather than Hilton... we (unfortunately got GetARoom)... I thought I called Hilton... and the GetARoom rep had about 10 opportunities to tell me I did not call Hilton... I was driving in a Blizzard and could only do so much. He never identified himself as with GetARoom, Iasked..."is this not Hilton Reservations?"... he said... this is reservations... I inquired as to why there was a booking fee... he said... some states have booking fees! At the motel I got a military rate of $93... GetARoom still charge me $119... and then $150 total after taxes and booking fees. Next day I called GetARoom to get $50 back... that I overpaid... the told me THREE times I would get a refund of $54.63... I spelled it out 3 times... 5-4-6-3? I was told yes three times. They refunded $15. Total dishonesty... If I was not so busy... I would take them to court... I can only hope YOU do not book through them...
Poor website design. Could not cancel after 10 minutes for to their mistake. And DoD not get me money back
Hotel said I did not have a room. Even though getaroom said I did. Got 2 hours of sleep due to the guest next door blaring their TV tell 4 am. The hotel did nothing to fix this problem. Never will use getaroom again or stay at this hotel. Customer service at getaroom is horrible... there is NEVER a supervisor available and they hang up on you all the time
This company is the worst. I will never use them again and I will communicate to friends and social media of their horrible service. I made a reservation and failed to understand their no refund policy, so when I tried to cancel my reservation an hour later they refused to help.
Update on 1/22/18-Guest relations supervisor called me to discuss concern and offered some compensation to ease some of the aggravation with my booking. I am no way completely satisfied. Changed to 3 stars for the attempt.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
