I stayed 2 nights at a hotel for a rate of 97 a night. I never make reservations through 3rd party, but it was an emergency trip and didn't look as carefully as I might have. These fees for a 2 night stay were calculated at a rate of 108.27. I would not make a reservation through this site. Their service charge is excessive. I did call about this and hoped that they would "do the right thing" and correct this. It would have made a difference in this review, but after being on the phone with them, primarily on hold, for 25 minutes I was told politely that there was no good will gesture that they could make. I was polite and patient throughout, but found that this business really only cares about their exorbitant profits. After spending time with customer service, I was very clear that I would leave an uncomplimentary review. They did nothing. Then I posted it, and my problem became interesting to them. They contacted me and refunded half of my fee. The total fee exceeded the cost for 1 night on a 2 night stay. It might have made a difference if I hadn't had to work so hard, only to be told "no." But as it was, half was still more than half of one night's stay on 2 nights. Thanks for trying, GAR, but too little too late. I know how much I would have paid the hotel directly because both the property and GAR charged me. The hotel charged 214.02 and GAR charged 326.27. Not really much in the way of savings, even with a $54 refund, but thanks for trying.
I was not given information about the $39 charge per room for your services. I did not know about it until I received the email with my confirmation information. You should be up front about a charge for your services. Came as a shocking surprise.
Booked a room for 35% percent less than any of the other hotel booking sites. Haven't actually gone on the trip yet, so no comment about the actual hotel. But the price was great.

I was told after saying that I wanted hotel accommodations at The Hampton Inn and Suites in Monroe that there was no availability. Accommodations were made at the Best Western. Later that day I decided to call the Hampton myself and found that there were accommodations. I then had to go through the entire process of making new arrangements and cancelling the ones with Best Western. What would have happened had I not allowed for the rooms to be cancelled.
I was super scared booking with a company besides the big name brands. The hotel my group was staying in was sold out but this site said they had some availability. I am back from my trip and everything was smooth. I will definitely look at this site for future vacations. Best risk I've taken in a while. :)
The advertised price is not the price paid. Stinks of sharp practice and will try and avoid using them again

The Comfort Suites was a nice, clean quiet place to stay. Our room was comfortable and the staff very friendly.
Was able to book a room but was not happy that there is a no cancellation, no refund policy. Who knows what can happen 6 months in advance.
Generally when you reserve a hotel you dont get charged until you check out, and if it says fully refundable, its fully refundable. This site charges your CC right away and if you need a refund, their ridiculous fees arent included in that equation. If I had known this, I would not have booked through them. This info was not mentioned at the forefront in any obvious way. More transparency needs to happen.
Found a room very quickly in just the right location! Seemed to have more availability than other sites.
I booked through TripAdvisor, but the follow-through seems unpolished and unprofessional. If I want to modify the reservation, I have to contact the property, I can't do it via internet (even though there's a 'modify' link in the email, once you get to the webpage you can't modify it.) I needed to book 2 more rooms at the same property and chose to go via PriceLine instead, as it seems more professional and less apt to have bugs.
Everything was fine, except the default number of persons was 2 rather than the common 1 and I did not find a way to change it.
Was searching for a hotel near the colosseum that I had stayed in and fell in love with another but could not book it online. I called and resolved the problem with a super customer service rep I believe his name was Gabriel?
We also solved another problem and service was 5 stars. Thank you. Looking forward to my trip in June.
Everything about this reservation was super easy. Click, click done. Less than 5 minutes. I was able to select all the important info needed, enter my card information and, voila! No phone time necessary.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
