I made a booking and quickly cancelled that booking. However GetaRoom had deducted the full amount from my card, and i am still waiting for my refund. I am distressed about my money, and would never use this site again.
I just hope my refund will be credited to my card soon.
I booked a reservation for two rooms and had to change it to one room. The agent had to cancel the original reservation and create a new one. This took 20 minutes that I didn't have.
Made a reservation I thought directly to Best Western in Buda Texas. Had no idea it was a third party until I recieved my reservation number and was overcharged on my card. Absolutely could not get anyone to cancel. When I finally spoke to someone and asked for a cancellation and refund, he basically said i had been scammed, and too bad for me. I am nervous about these people EVEN HAVING MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION! Absolutely disgusted!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a superb rate. I was a little disappointed of not being able to pay at the hotel. I guess you can't have it all!
There really isn't much more to say. The price beat all the others for the same hotel! It was very quick, and easy!
I cancelled the reservations due to the deceptive selling. No mention they BILLED my credit card within an hour, when I was only RESERVING a room, NOT PAYING for a room two months in advance!
No mention of ANY $25 fees to cancel the reservarion... a horrible customer service experience!

This site gives great prices, but no cancellation... I only wish we could have that option in case of an emergency. But, I could not beat the price.
I DID NOT realize I was using a 3rd party company when I made a hotel reservation. I cancelled it with in 30 minutes of booking it. When I got online for my bank account I saw the money for a room I cancelled was taken out of my account in full. When I called the hotel to ask about it they said they don't charge for the room until arrival. So i called getaroom and was told they could do nothing because I had the wrong cancellation. The agent only decided to help me when I told him I was getting irritated that he was telling me they could take money out of my account even AFTER I CANCELLED THE RESERVATION. From now on when booking a hotel I will make sure I call the hotel directly so I NEVER GET SCAMMED AGAIN! This practice should be illegal! So much for free cancellation if they charge you 2 months before your check in date. Be were of who you're dealing with!
Hello I use online hotel room booking on a monthly basis twice a month. Might have never encountered an issue such as this. When booking my room for Sunday night the webpage altar my booking for the next week instead. After finalizing the payment the dates were wrong. Instead of the BN for the same night of booking it was a week away. I called to adjust with customer service when traveling to the location 6 hours away in the afternoon and not arriving until midnight and customer service would not help in any way other than charge me for a new room all over again. Since I was already on my way to the location I had no choice other than to pay twice in one day. I'm very dissatisfied with the experience and the customer service that I received. Like I said before I travel twice a month and use online services all the time and have never run into this this issue. I am also in the hospitality industry for the last 15 years by managing back steakhouse. I would hope that someone would be willing to help me with other arrangements in the future or a given voucher to recover this lost.
Every booking experience with Get A Room has been awesome... The representative was very helpful and worked with our dates and request.
I had heard complaints about using getaroom so I wanted to share my experience. Booking was easy, but the main issues I had heard were related to the hotel having the booking and dealing with getaroom customer service. I booked the room on a Saturday, checked with the hotel directly on Sunday and the booking was not yet on their records. I sent an email to getaroom and heard back Monday. Very pleasant note, explained the situation, I responded by saying I was not comfortable with a long delay in having the hotel show the booking, and the rep got back to me within an hour saying they had spoken to the hotel and the booking was in their system.
I was very pleased with my experience and did not have any of the troubles others have mentioned.

Good experience overall... made better when refund given when emergency hospitalization made us have to cancel trip.
Worked well. Close to food and easy access to highway. I would use this hotel again. However, we shouldn't have to enter 100 characters if we choose not too; so I will fill it with this run on sentence.
The rate I was given here ended up being $25 more than what the hotel was charging for their rooms at the time I was staying there. When I contacted customer service I basically got a "too bad" for an answer. Terrible customer service.
Zero stars would be more accurate. I booked online a $119 room - with taxes of about 10%, expected total to be about $131. Screen showed hotel name and reservations number - not a mention of getaroom. I quickly got an alert from my card company showing I was charged $178.
I called the toll-free number shown on the screen displayed prominently next to hotel name. To my surprise someone in the Philipines answered saying I had booked with getaroom and the extra $50 was a service fee and no, they would not cancel.
Deceptive trade practice. Appealing via my card company now.
They are very good at problem solving. After, I contacted them about my issue at the hotel. They take a full responsibility which is I really appreciate and hope they will keep doing this, I mean caring and listening to what customers said and give them comments. Thank you.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
