There isn't enough room to tell you all the stress that they have caused. One day before we leave to drive out on motorcycles to the biggest motorcycle event in the country. They did not make the reservation with my correct information. This caused the location to say they did not have our reservation, even though we had paid six monthes in advance. I was on the phone for over two hours trying to get this taken care of and still no resolution on getaroom's part. I call the location and thankfully they said that they are waiting still for the getaroom people to fix it, but they will make it right.
Wait times to speak to someone because I had already made a reservation said 2 mins or less. I infact at one point waited over 20 mins before I hung up. I spoke to a supervisor she said she would call back within the hour, she did not follow through. This is just a small example of the already stressfull day before we leave on our trip. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!
I am one very Unsatisfied customer Ibooked my reservations THREW yall for a motel room once I got to my room they re-charge my card. They said yall didnt you say they did this needs to be fixed ASAP Ill book the room through yall not be home so it needs to be fixed. I would never in my life recommend my worst enemy to go to your company to rent a room or anything else. I have talk to yall for five times since Friday saying oh phone. I have my pay card it will show you where you took your money and where is the hotel took! ALL Y'ALL DO IS TAKE PEOPLES MONEY! YA'LL WAS MORE THAN THE MOTEL PRICE! I inadvertently booked my hotel through this site and as I am a Canadian they charged me in Canadian dollars. I realized too late that they charged me twice what they should have. Upon confronting them, they offered a 10% reduction and told me that I should have booked directly with the hotel. Cute!

Booked a room for 3 nights. Getaroom confirmation shows cost per room and states that fees are for taxes, etc... and booking fees. This is not accurate. The hotel clerk didn't know the reservation was prepaid and accidentally charged me the full amount of $390.72. An odd amount since the amount I prepaid Getaroom was $587.30 for that exact same reservation. The hotel quickly credited me but when I questioned rate difference the hotel said we only know what we get paid from them. As it turns out the extra 40% ($196.58) was not for hotel or resort fees as the language on the reservation confirmations mislead you to believe. As it turns out they charged me a fee of $196.58 to book a $390.72 reservation. I have filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau and will be booking direct from now on.

Sounds great at first, call and make reservations for a good price- but God help you if you have to change the reservation, they won't make changes even a month in advance. I wanted to shorten my stay by one day and no help at all! I had to call the hotel myself and after over an hour final made the corrections, which get a room still can't reflect on their website! I spoke to Davia and asked for a supervisor to call me back, first Davia told me there was no supervisor and no supervisor ever called me back. This site is a joke DO NOT USE! These are very important reservations for basic training graduation at West Point, I was counting on this site to be able to provide reservations with the ability to modify (weeks before the event.)

My sons and I planned a trip for my birthday weekend next weekend. We bought the tickets for two hotel rooms, I did not know we were going through Get A Room but today, my son was cancelling another trip that we had planned later on down the road and accidentally cancelled these two rooms instead. Once i received the emails, I called them immediately and told them it was a mistake and they said too bad, there is nothing that can be done. I said you can't reinstate it, they said no. I dont understand it, so now I am out $300 and cant even go on the trip we planned. Horrible, Horrible.

On 7/12 I made a reservation for the Reno Hyatt at the Reno-Tahoe Airport. Nice hotel; lovely staff. I had called what I thought was the Hyatt directly, from the Salt Lake City Airport, with a lot of background noise. They quoted me a price of $199./night plus tax. I must not have heard THAT additional amount of $74.12 because I would NOT have approved it. Perhaps the rep did not speak clearly?. My credit card was billed $274.12. GetARoom has agreed to refund ALL of the extra fees BECAUSE OF MY SITEJABBER REVIEW. GetARoom has shown integrity. I appreciate this. I have written to them asking them to have their agents identify themselves as NOT the hotel.

Confusing web site caused room to be booked in the right town but wrong state. I called GetARoom within seconds after the booking notice. No agents available. Confusing menu. Finally got through only to be told there was nothing they could do. They simply reference their multi-page terms and conditions. Stay away it is not worth the few dollars saved.

5 charges of over $500 each were charged to my visa from this guy trying to get me a room! He didn't just check if there were any availability, he charged each time! Then he insisted on this dump hotel and would not stop with my phone call. I accepted the hotel just to get off the phone nicely and then cancelled online as soon as I got off the phone. After checkign my Visa, there were 5 charges! All but one came off and this final one they refused to take off because they said it was non-refunbable. I dont know about the average Joe out there, but I never take rooms that are non-refundable. There are always others! This guy never spoke the words that it was non-refundable. STAY AWAY!
UPDATE: Finally got a refund July 19th (almost a month later)! Thanks to Sitejabber and PayPal!

Awful! They guaranteed a room with a balcony over the phone but the email confirmation they sent was for a room without a balcony. They would not change the reservation so we had to cancel and rebook through the hotel. They claimed a no cancellation policy and would not issue a refund. Never use this company to book a hotel room, they are engaging in fraud! We ordered an apple, they delivered an orange and kept almost $700.

GetARoom rep lied to me and said he was with Best Western. They then billed my card for more than what was agreed and refused to cancel and refund my payment. I googled Best Weston Canon City to book a hotel reservation. I called the number that appeared. When I called that number, I asked if I was calling Best Western correctly, the representative said "yes". Later in the call, I asked again if I was speaking with Best Western and not a third party booking company and the representative said "yes". We agreed on a reservation and price based on a wedding booking reservation room rate. The total with taxes was $245.75. I was then charged over $330. When I called the hotel to fix the billing error, I was told that the reservations were not made through them but through a third party called "GetARoom". I called GetARoom, they apologized for the misrepresentation and over-billing but refused to give me a refund. Left me on hold for 54 minutes... so far.

Update while I stand by my initial review I was contacted by the company and have received a full credit for my charge. It should not have been this difficult but they did a good job of correcting their mistake after I complained on a couple of different sites. There would not have been a problem if someone who cou. D make these decisions talked to me in the first place.
I was on line looking at reservations. I was about to book and realized this was not The Starwood site. I hit the back button or at least I tried to hit the back button and I received an error message. I surfed a little more to get to the Starwood site. I went to reset my password for my Starwood guest account causing me to geo to my email and found that I had made a reservation through Get a room which I had never heard of. I clicked on the reservation and cancelled it only to find out that the reservation was non-refundable and I now had no room and had lost my $266 that the room cost. I called get a room customer service and they said they were sorry that they could not refund me or reinstate the reservation.

This has to be the absolute worst booking site EVER. I had a very bad experience with a hotel that booked thru this site. I filed a complaint with the hotel, and they ultimately agreed to refund my money. The problem was with getaroom.com. This had been escalated, and I even managed to get the hotel manager on a 3 way call, contact get a room and everyone agree to the refund, that was on June 16th, it is now July 9th. Still waiting, after they told me the funds would be back in my account within 48 hours. My initial call to get a room was on June 2!
Horrible customer service! Book directly with a hotel, or use a more commonly known site like Booking.com or Expedia.com!

On June 6th 2018 my wife booked a room on what she thought was Hamptoninn? Hilton web site at New Albany, Ohio. Over all was three nights on June 27th, 28thand 29th. For hip surgery at a Hospital in New Albany. Confirmation came back with # and prices of USA$426.99 for 3 nights plus USA$$218.24 Local Taxes. Total was USA$645.23. We only required two nights and checked out before 12; 00 noon which left one night no used should have been returned to me. Hotel stated since I booked through 3Rd part I would have to go back through them for refund. Too date I have not been able to get any answers as to why a refund is in order. Hotel only charged $445.29 which I should have received a refund of $134.53. Is this an agreement between the Hotel Chain and Get A room to fraud people?. I am out of pocket almost $400.00 and Have Credit Card Co. Investigating and will turn over to the Government Agency if I do not receiver full recovery. If others have received this kind of treatment I would like to know about it as Lawyer is investigating Thanks

My hotel gave me a refund through get a room. I have yet to receive it. I was passed from operator to operator, and they all acted like they don't speak English. It is 2 months later and no refund yet. I am so disappointed and disappointed. I sent emails also with no response.

2nd Update: Interestingly enough I have not yet received my refund to my credit card, as per promised in 3-5 days. It has now been 10. Be very cautious.
Update: After writing this review, I received a call from getaroom who expressed the desire to resolve the issue and will be sending a credit and refund to my credit card company. This was the only way I had for getaroom to respond to me, which is unfortunate for their company. I should have my refund posted to my account in 3-5 days, per my email.
They advertised for a room for $147 per night. After booking with them they charged an additional $134 "fee" to my credit card. After attempting to cancel they state it was a no cancelation rate. Used a disguised name called "Guest Reservations" on a website that looked like my hotel website. Only after attempting to cancel did I discover I even booked on GetARoom. They are scam artists at their best. Shocked that the credit card companies and everyone are ruled by them. Steer completely clear of them!

This service is horrible. They lie and over charge. They told me rooms were not available at a certain price for my conference. I later learned that the room were available at a certain price for my group. I was also charged an enormous amount taxes and amenities. I will never use this service again.

I was overcharged $200 and when I contacted customer service they where rude and very unprofessional. It should have been a simple booking but being overcharged and spoken to so rudely has put a real damper on our trip. They refused to help and their only suggestion was that they would cancel my booking but still charge me the full amount absolute blackmail.

They lie to you and charge you big fee, tell you all lies about hotels and once you pay reservation there is nothing you can do. I reserved a room in SF day before yesterday. I have medical condition and I told the rep from getaroom company my requirements when I was booking the room. She told me breakfast included and hotel is 4 star and when we checked in the room was smelly and bathroom was so outdated. When I asked about the breakfast the front desk guy mentioned that its a basic hotel so they dont provide anything there. Believe me or not I checked the bed there was not even bedsheet on it underneath blanket. Room service phone was old and full of dust and of course not working. No coffee not even water there in room. You have to go to front desk every time. I called rep from getaroom company and told her all the concerns. She didnt have any answers for me and she told me to go to front desk and mention my concerns. I would never ever use this company. Its a fraud so be very careful when use this company.

I booked a room under the guise of ""Today's Special" which was $8 under the regular room rate I had searched with AAA or senior discount - it was non-refundable, which was fine since we were leaving today. MY FAULT that I didn't review all the way to the end of the page to see that they had tacked on $25/room/night in "Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees" = ***Then they issued me a $50 refund when I wrote with my concerns

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
