Worked with Carlos on Thursday Sept 19th to book a room, his advice to me was awesome and he took great care of me and answered all my questions. Will be using this site for all my bookings from now on.
I booked my hotel then had to change dates So I called got a very nice agent. She changed the dates and it was cheaper! I am very happy!

Poor. I booked a hotel room with a slope-side view at a ski resort, which the agent Gizelle confirmed three times verbally, and when the email confirmation came there was no mention of this condition. The call office agent, Mark, when told about this said that on arrival at the hotel I should ask for a slope-side room. This wont work as the hotel sells slope-side rooms and parking-lot view rooms, and the latter are cheaper and this I fear is what has been sold to me.
Needed a room for 2 nights on a short notice. They came through. I requested a certain hotel chain and they came through.

My calls worked out, my initial booking was made by ME for the wrong week, I had prepaid and was read a long list of conditions but 20 minutes later I called to cancel or rebook same hotel for 1 week later,
A day later they did cancel my error and credit SO I rebooked thru them for same hotel

Similar to other reviews, I was scammed by this website. They booked a room on the wrong day for me (I booked a room for 9/22 on 8/24 and they booked the room for 8/24) so I had no opportunity to dispute the case. I was given no options for refund or even rebooking as I called them on 9/18 which is before the date I needed the room and the customer service agent was extremely rude. The hotel never received payment and was told that I am a "no show" so they are just keeping the money. I would stay away from using this service.
Took the longest time to book a room, no service in french even though it was in Montreal, Quebec.
Gentlemen was very polite and patient.
This is an update to my review. After writing my review DeeDee from getaroom.com contacted me and offered to refund the fees from the Hilton that they had not paid. I am glad they paid the remainder of the fees owe, but feel they should have been paid right away. It took a lot of time to get this straightened out.
I booked a hotel room in Niagara Falls, Canada, with getaroom.com in June 2018. I had to pay for the room in full at that point, even though my trip was not until September. They charged a $305 Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees fee. This covered, their statement below.
What are Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees?
This charge includes the estimated amount we pay the hotel for occupancy related taxes owed by the hotel and any amounts charged to us for resort fees, cleaning fees, and other fees. The balance of the charge is a fee we, the hotel supplier and/or the website you booked on, retain as part of the compensation for our and/or their services which varies based on factors such as location, the amount, and how you booked.
We get to the hotel and they said we were paid through a third party, but they needed our charge card number in case we charged something to the room. When we checked out we were told there were no charges. Four days after arriving home we get a $79.94 charge from the hotel for ECO fees and Tourism improvement fees. In calling the Hilton we were told the third party, getaroom.com, did not pay those fees. When calling getaroom.com we were told they don't pay those frees. We were not told this. In looking back at their terms and agreement it says they don't pay additional hotel fees, so this could mean anything. Buyer beware you may well be charged more than the price you paid for your hotel. In reading their statement above and being told there were not more charges when leaving the hotel what would you think? I will never use this company again.
Made reservations for one night at Comfort Inn Monterey Peninsula. My credit card was charged $223.00 and some odd cents. I paid that credit card bill. Upon arrival at hotel was told I did not have a reservation and Get a Room had not paid them. I then had to pay 146.00 to stay that night. I paid that credit card bill but quite a mark up on room price. Get a room has not reimbursed me. I will never use their services again and will certainly recommend that others do not use them.

The Comfort Inn Edmonston NB 'smoke free' room smells of cigar smoke. Many of the other Comfort Inns that I've stayed in have the same problem; maybe smoke detectors (that work) in the rooms would help? Or maybe charging people who smoke, instead of just threatening to. Heater also reeks of smoke.
Helped us out during hurricane Florence. The storm was coming right to us. We needed to change our dates. You went out of your way to get the dates switched for us. We are so appreciative. Thank you.
If I hadn't grabbed the offer from "GetARoom" that was offered shortly after I booked my flight, I would have been able to save money as another "flight-hotel" bundle was offered shortly after. It would have cost $53/nite instead of $61--same hotel, same room.
Great price and great customer service. Had a mistake in my reservation and it fixed ASAP. Will use getaroom again for my next trip!
I'm traveling weekly and never received an email confirmation. As a result of this I accidentally booked myself twice. GETAROOM was charging me one night's stay when I went to cancel with them. I explained I hadn't received email. They didn't care. I called the other website and they cancelled my other reservation at another property no problem. I verified my email address and asked your agent to send another email before I left for my trip. I still never received the email and received no help from get a room.

We had to cancel our booking because our child was sick and although we called 3 full days before our reservation, Getaroom refused to refund the hotel charges. We could have booked directly through the hotel and canceled the day before with no charge. To top it off, the hotel rebooked our room and Getaroom still would not refund us. We will never use this service again.
I was in this hotel before. I checked the other sites but I got a good price from this site this time.

I had been trying to decide which site to use to book our room and then I noticed GetARoom was lower than the others so I used it. I got a confirmation right away with no nonsense. Excellent!
Customer service was easy and very accommodating. Had an issue with the hotel we booked and getaroom.com was great in refunding and giving us an option to rebook.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
