Overcharging with no accountability

Don't trust that they value your business or that they won't take advantage of you if given the opportunity.
$12 admin fee charged monthly for paper billing that I don't receive. But they are under no obligation to discount it so there is no refund once they realize that you shouldn't be getting that charge.
10 years of business and not once did I get a notification prior to my bill increasing. No communication that there was any way to discount my bill by signing a service agreement.
I paid for my bins to be delivered as a new homeowner and was told I would be refunded the charges if I stopped the services and returned the bins. But they don't remember that now, 10 years later.
Holiday notifications that my trash will be on a delayed pick up, it's out fail, are always received the day after pick up.
Save yourself 50% and go with waste management.

Absurd crooks

This company refuses to cancel service that they have been steadily hiking the prices up for over 30 years. I work for an elderly man who was aghast to find out he has been direct depositing over $450 a month for simple trash service. These people should be ashamed of themselves. See you in court!

Didn't deliver!

Went with waste connections because they have service in this area before our neighbors use them, so that's who I chose to call spoke Patrick Kochan territory account manager on Friday 10/14 was told I would have it delivered Monday 10 /17 but no dumpster emailed Patrick he apologized and told me it would be there the next day by 15:00 but again no dumpster so I emailed Patrick and told him how disappointed in service already and really needed it today because I have trash piling up at my back door and inside if they couldn't maybe I should call another waste company? This is his reply!

I do apologize, please feel free to call another vendor, I will cancel your account.

Again, I do apologize!

I have NEVER been treated so poorly by a service provider. My personal experience with Waste Connections was horrendous. I did not sign up with this company, they gained my account by purchasing the company I was using. They immediately hiked my prices. When I called to inquire, they offered to reduce them, then proceeded to hike my price every single billing period since. Every time I was billed, my price climbed. I was also charged numerous fees that I should not have been charged. They missed several pickups. I could never get in contact with customer service. After the 6th price increase, I was over it. I didn't even care at that point what I had to pay, or if I received another pickup from them... I just wanted out from under this unethical company. When I was finally able to talk to someone, she was confrontational, rude, and assuming. I requested they cancel my service immediately, and I changed companies. I was with my prior service provider (before the acquisition) for almost a decade. I never knew I could miss any company that much. Waste Connections has been a nightmare and they treat their customers terribly. I absolutely understand why so many people on social media are posting bad experiences, and bailing on them. This is the only time I have ever wanted to pay someone whatever they wanted (that I shouldn't even owe), in order to never have to be in contact with them again. I will never forget how poorly they handled my account.

Changed our recycle pickup from every week to every other week without lowering the cost. If I hired somebody to remodel my bathroom and they only did half the job why would I pay them full price. They should be a compassionate company and lower the price for those who they removed service from.

Not a good experience

This company is terrible. I called to step service last October. I received a bill anyways. They have not picked up my trash in a year and yet they expect me to pay? I will be contacting the BBB. I have proof of when I started a new service but was told they have no proof of a call made to them to stop service. Not giving me the benefit of the doubt and not working with me at all, I think is very slimy. I am a fair person, but also want to be treated fairly. This is NOT the case with this company. Do NOT use them!

Never pick up - 2 weeks now. They give you a $5 credit for failing to pick up your trash. You call to complain, there is no one to complain to because they women that answer phones don't work for company and the supervisors are the ones failing to pick up.

NO PICKUP IN 3 MONTHS

I WANT TO RATE NEG 10 STARTS. NO PICKUP 3 MONTHS. CALL AND EMAIL SERVAL TIMES. KEEP MAKE UP EXCUSES. THE GATE WAS LOCKED. NO ONE THERE ON SUNDAY. GPS SHOW THE TRUCK WAS THERE YESTERDAY. DO NOT USE THEM. TRY TO FIND ANOTHER COMPANY.

My previous company sold out to this company. It didn't take long to go down hill quickly. 3 weeks ago they left half the trash in the tote. Next week, no service at all. This week the only thing left is the plastic tote. No metal handle, no wheels. Just the plastic tote. I have had other companies in the past. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH POOR SERVICE!

Worthless company!

Living out in the country has its cons! Trash pickup being one. We've been with this company since November of 2021. I have lost count of how many times I have called to report that my trash had not been picked up! What's worse is that I've been told a couple times "yes they did it's been time stamped!" As if they can't lie about going. It's been absolutely infuriating! I have auto draft for payment. It's funny how they have no problem taking payment immediately but I have to miss weeks of trash pick up! They try and screw people over with long contracts as well! By far the worst experience I've ever had!

Dirty Lawyering -

Waste connections doesn't allow customers out of contracts as they continually raise fees on them. They claim all contracts must include an auto-renewal clause so that you have to remember to cancel within 30 days of contract end or it auto-renews if you try a day later, tough luck. Anybody who writes contracts like this should be locked up for their a crime against integrity. Their lawyering is that of thieves trying to hijack customers who make the mistake of ever hiring them. Of course if they have trash pickup issues, they should to be held blameless. Their business practices are near being a scam.

Worst of the worst
August 10, 2022

Multiple missed pick ups over several weeks. Complaint calls taken by a receptionist that can't do anything. Numerous emails and calls have gone unanswered over that several weeks as well. Business plan tip, don't ignore your customers and expect them to hang around. Even the employees are frustrated and doing their best to help customers but can only do so much. Another business tip, don't buy other companies unless you know you can service all customers, new and old.

I have to call ever 2 months for them to pick up my trash. Now it's been almost 4 weeks and no one has called me regarding workers picking up my trash. Always something why they can't pick it up. But want their payment in time. When u call to talk to someone hire up always an excuse. Do not recommend them at all horrible ppl.

This is the worst company. Took us 3 months to write a contract and for what, they do not pick up on the agreed dates and they just do not care. We have both commercial and residential and it is horrifying. We have MAGGOTS as they do not pick up and clean like they said they would. STAY AWAY.

Waste Connections Of Canada missed two of the garbage pickups continuously. The garbage container piled up and made a huge mess around it. I phoned and messaged the company but the only person could be reached was a front deck lady. She could only pass your messages to the office. After a bunch of phone calls and emails, finally I received an email said their two companies had been reunion and the drivers were not familiar with the route. No pick up date was rescheduled and no representive names on the email. I am not sure when the garbage truck will be coming. I have to spend $500 per load to hire someone to remove the garbage manually.

Absolutely no customer service

After missed pick ups we decided to cancel services and could not get anyone on the phone and apparently our attempts to cancel on the website didnt work either. The next thing we know we are getting a bill for $140.58! They havent picked up trash from our house in 2 month and are still charging us as if they have been servicing our address. After finally reaching someone on the phone I was told they would have to investigate if they had been to our house to pick up trash before issuing any credits. Fingers crossed but I dont have any hopes of a credit after speaking to a lady named Randy. Terrible experience over all!

Where do I start? I highly encourage potential customers of Waste Connections to look elsewhere. Also current customers who plan on cancelling should cancel sooner versus later.

Based on recommendations we started with Springs Waste in 2020 when we moved to the Springs. Once Waste Connections took over the service keeps degrading and the price keeps going up. We have had frequent missed pick ups. There is never credits given for missed pick ups. The joke in our neighborhood is that it is sunny or rainy or too cold or too hot... therefore don't expect Waste Connections to pick up. However, given all of that, every bill has an increased rate.

Waste Connections encourages you to download their app in order to have the latest communications and updates. Unfortunately, their app is not accurate and doesn't send the right notifications for holiday pick up.

I've called and left a message in the past to report a missed pick up and no one has ever called back. When I do get a customer service representative on the phone they often do not have the answer or give the answer I want to hear ("we'll be back today to pick up your missed recycling"... but they never come back).

Today (6/24) was the final straw and I cancelled our service. The representative was unable to tell me when they could come pick up our missed service. They agreed to cancel but they are unable to pick up bins until 9/7(!) I requested to speak to management and they refused.

In closing, if you are researching which trash company to go with, do not start service with Waste Connections! If you are Waste Connections, please review this constructive feedback.

Disgusting workers doing disgusting gestures while in front of residents and children. Not once but twice. When calling to make complaints nobody calls you back in a timely matter. You have to constantly call and when you finally talk to someone they are no help and give you the run around. Supervisor Chris Miller was no help at all and refused to let me talk to anyone else and then hung up on me. When calling back to ask to talk to his higher ups they say " they can't patch me through to anyone cause Chris put in our file and told them the matter was handle and that they are only operators and can only do what one supervisor says cause that's his department… then said oh no your phone is breaking up! And hangs up. It was like talking to children! So highly unprofessional! I honestly can't believe a business can operate like this! So insane!
