DONT USE TRIP ADVISOR! John Hung district supervisor at TripAdvisor. Scammed me into booking a hotel in ATL. The Hotel never sent me a confirmation number. Trip advisor email said they would send it. Now Im in ATL and they've never sent it. I had to call the hotel and make sure I could get a room. Then when I got there they were asking me to pay more deposits. Which was never mentioned online or email.

Deceptive marketing - stay away
September 27, 2021

Trip.com says "If you'd like to change or cancel your booking, the Trip.com app makes it easy." It does not make it easy at all and if anything makes it much harder than booking though the airline directly. I have not written a 1 star review before but this is the first time I have done so. What a disappointing customer experience.

Don't do it
September 27, 2021

I should have done my homework on trip.com but didn't which lead to me paying $100 in cab fares and $60 in checked luggage only to find out my flight was cancelled. All the airlines were sold out. I finally got another flight and trip doesn't put your info in when booking they use theirs so I never got my new flight confirmation. The company is a joke and if you read this review and book with them it's your own fault for what you get. There's a reason it has a 1 star.

Reservations policy is bad and i ask for flight changes but it was not accepted. In addition, they take a long time to respond to your request regarding flight update. I do not advice to deal with this company at all

Terrible service,

When I booked, it felt like a scam. Seems to have a nice interface but when I paid and received the confirmation number, something felt off. I called the hotel a few days after making the reservation and they had no record of my reservation. I gave them my name name, confirmation number and check in/out days. I chatted with trip.com and they assured me the room was confirmed. I pressed them and they said they would look into it. I received a phone call about 8 hours later saying there was no confirmed room and they would refund me. I'm glad I called the hotel because I would have definitely been stranded without a place to stay.

Trip.com overcharged

Trip.com charged my credit card $394.82 for a stay at Holiday Inn Express. I got my invoice from Holiday Inn and it was only $334.95. I was over charged $59.87 from Trip.com. I would of just booked right from Holiday if I knew this.

I bought tickets for my family I made a mistake with the date. They are refusing to refund me even though the date of the ticket is still a week away before the date I supposed to go. This is a rip off site! Don't purchase your trips here if you made a mistake with the date or need to change the date for what ever reason they are not going to change the date or refund you, you are screwed!

Had to cancel trip because there app moved the date

We use this app to book and prepay for room the app kept moving to the date to today's date we fixed it and confirm to he booking got the confirmation email and called to fix this within seconds they tried to refuse refund and told me no rooms where available for the date And it was non refundable this was a mistake there app made and they won't refund for up to 2 weeks as I only had enough for the room and trip I was forced to cancel the event we where to take part in if I had not been as stern as I was I would not have gotten a refund at all this was her goal I feel

Trip.com is happy to take your money when you are buying a ticket, but in case an airline cancels your flight and if you can't pick an alternative date, Trip.com hides behind "airline policies" and the travel agent "can't do anything about it". Or, and that is my speculation, they just don't want to do anything about it, as they would lose revenue. My flight with Emirates in July 2020 from Singapore to Munich was cancelled by the airline and all they offered me was US$ 138 of a US$ 953 ticket. My strong recommendation is to stay away from Trip.com and to buy flight tickets from the airlines directly.

Trip.com = robber

Cannot cancel my reservation for a room whose dates do not match. Trip.com charged my credit card. The reservation is in a month and trip.com cannot cancel and refund me. However, I called the hotel who assures me that they have not received my money. It is incomprehensible not to be able to cancel an accommodation that will take place in a month. I am waiting for the hotel to send me a confirmation that Trip.com prevents the cancellation of my reservation. Once received I will take the matter to court. Please be careful and look elsewhere as Trip.com are simply crooks. Go directly through airlines and hotels for your reservations. Trip.com is not serious at all.

They are the most horrible company to deal with. They do not help at all to make adjustments. They offer a credit but at pennies to the dollar. I will never use this company again. Wasted money, wasted time. What customer service! There is no one to help with issues and they keep putting you off until you have no other options with no resolution from them.

They are fraudsters. They will never provide a refund even if the airline does.
I had to cancel my booking because I had a car accident 2 days before my trip and they asked me to provide a letter from doctor. I got a official note from doctor still they did not send me any refund. Aircanada had clear offer going on for full refund in case of cancellation. But these fraudsters did not give me a single penny. Initially they did offer me credits but after getting all the accident details they denied even giving a credit. Their staff is also cheat. They promise to send refund first and then they deny of speaking anything as such.
I highly recommend never to book from here!

Horrific experience! Don't go through this, find better!
To start with when we booked (from Australia) prices were in USD so it was missleading but I suppose that's theoreticaly on me for assuming prices when I'm in Australia are shown in AUD like every other website I visit here for online purchases but oh well silly me. It's an absolute chaos dealing with their customer service and it's not about the poor lady on the other side having to listen to me, it's the options she has been provided with to deal with me, the customer, in order to solve something which aren't really relevant because she can't do a lot. In short, they really don't care, they are quick to take your money but are unable to solve issues effectively, so bring a lot of time and patience if you should be in the situation that you need them to help you or do their job for that. I've lost a $ 1000 by now and I've got NOTHING to show for it. Nothing. It's so unacceptable, shame on you!

Awful!

Don't book via trip.com you will have an awful experience and be so stressed out.
I booked a flight to Ghana in July 2021 to attend my dads funeral i needed to change the date as my dads funeral date got changed through no fault of my own. The company act like they want to help on the phone and have been taught to say all the right things but after putting through over 20 flight change requests so i can attend my fathers funeral all requests have been rejected. These flight are through British airways and i checked to see if they have available seats on all the flights i requested and they do. I have an open ticket to use for another flight until April 2022 but it seems my. Trip are doing there up most best to not secure me on a flight so they can take my full £850 without me even traveling anywhere and they are determined for me to loose my money and not attend the funeral. I am so stressed out at this experience and i hope for no one to go through what i have been through. It is not a holiday for me it is a chance to go and say goodbye to my father which no one is trip is willing to understand or help.

This company is charging you more than you destination. It is better just to book at the Hotel or your destination than on this website. They charged you extra fee that are hiding. Go to Booking or Hotel. Com for better service. If you happen to booked it, better check your statement asap.

I have been waiting for a refund for a year and a half since the flight was cancelled due to a pandemic. During that time I have been misled, given contradictory information and generic answers that were not in accordance with the questions asked. The most unprofessional service provider, all the other companies refunded the tickets promptly, but Trip and Malindo believe that honest business practices do not apply to them. I was issued a voucher on 11Feb and informed about it in Mid June because I complained that I cannot accept voucher since I am no longer in Asia and there is a ban on non-essential travelling. But for Trip and Malindo pandemic appears to a blessing, unlike to the rest of us. So when the voucher expires on 11Feb 2022, they will keep the money for the service they have not provided. CHOOSE OTHER COMPANIES. DECENT ONES. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE BOT POSITIVE COMMENTS AND GENERIC COMMENTS THEY ARE GOING TO LEAVE TO JUSTIFY THEIR CORRUPTIVE WAYS.

I book hotel Hollywood Gateway Inn., but the hotel was not like as shown on website. Very bed service and room was so dirty, there is dust on table and floor me window. Hotel lobby also so dirty and there is bed smell of smoke everywhere. Never go there.

Don't use them!

I will never use trip.com ever again! I booked a flight with them, then covid happened. They didn't look into the airlines updated covid policy so I had to fight with them to get my flight credit extended. Then when I went to use the flight credit a year and a half later, they wouldn't let me use it and instead the would refund me. They kept my $383 dollars for a year and a half saying I could use the credit but then didn't allow me to use my credit. I will NEVER use them again. Their customer service was so poor and their empathy for me was zero. I'm so disappointed in this company. Don't use them!
