Great customer service!

I had a problem with St. Regis hotel in Shanghai and was unable to get a satisfied response for their mishandling of entire trip. Trip.com stepped up and offered a compensation on their behalf. This is rare as the booking agent did more than the actual hotel. A surprising and welcoming twist. I'll be using them more knowing I have some protection while traveling in China.

You site locked up on me during payment. Called customer service and she couldn't help. I sent her the info and asked her to book and she picked something significantly more expensive. I went back into your site and did it myself and got my original price.

OCONUS Airline travel
January 18, 2026

On recent booking for wife's travel to sKorea on Korean Airlines, we are not able to obtain the seats for Houston to Atlanta until reportedly a day prior to departure. The same on the return travel leg. Not good. Trip.com advises to contact the airline the day prior to departure for the seat in Apr. Easier set up on Booking.com.

Can't buy a seat for infant
January 18, 2026

We have 5 adults and one infant and trying to buy a seat for the infant. But the system won't let us do it. It offers 5 adults, 1 infant and 1 child for traveling persons. When removed the child as traveling person, it only allows to buy 5 adults tickets and infant sitting on lap. Frustrating experience.

There is much I like about the Trip.com app, especially the convenience of being able to book flights, hotels, tours, and rent cars and other transportation all from one app so that I see the big picture of the trip. However, there is one thing that takes the shine away from all the positives.This is the third trip where I enter date parameters and you show me things that diverge from them and so I wind up thinking I have booked one thing only to discover when the confirmation email arrives that I booked something different. No doubt part of that is because I am usually working off a phone (which is what travellers use!), but Trip.com usually winds up COSTING ME MORE $$ because I have to go back and make changes.
