Travelocity Reviews Summary

Travelocity's reputation is predominantly marred by negative customer experiences, particularly concerning their customer service and refund policies. Many customers express frustration over poor communication, lack of support, and difficulties in obtaining refunds for canceled bookings. Complaints often highlight unexpected fees, miscommunication regarding rental agreements, and unfulfilled service promises. While a few reviews mention competitive pricing, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that the potential savings are overshadowed by the company's perceived dishonesty and inadequate service. Overall, customers advise caution when considering Travelocity for travel arrangements, emphasizing a lack of trust in the company's practices.

This is a very secure site to get book hotels, also they would help a lot with finding rooms when you travel and i think this is much better than other sites.

We like to travel and while this site is good to get info on resorts and the area of destination, they charge way more than you could get by calling the resort itself and we use Southwest so we booked our vacation package through Southwest. In February we went to Nassau Bahamas and after researching decided to stay a week at Melia and 4 nights at Breezes. By joining up to Melia at no cost credit off room as we were first time staying there and other credited money by going directly through resort saved us over $1000. 00 a month and a half ago we decided to go to Jamaica so I got all the Island and different resorts info my husband and I agreed on a resort we called to book room direct with all inclusive resort and while they were about $50 less a night than Travelocity we ended up going through Southwest as they were less then anyone.
Think about it it a 3rd party business to make money. How would they be able to always be the cheapest? Though we never found them to be cheaper when we looked.
I'm sure they do well as people are to busy to spend a few hours looking on the internet and making their own reservations.
I will admit they do make deals seem appealing.

About a month ago, my wife booked 5 hotel rooms for our guests thru travelocity for our out of town guests for our sons christening. Yesterday, we needed to change the name on one of the rooms so we called the hotel directly. Turns out, despite confirmations from Travelocity that our reservation was made, 3 of the 5 rooms were never reserved. And the hotel is full. And so is every other hotel in a 20 mile radius as it is graduation for many of the local colleges. After spending 2+ hours with customer service and on hold, we got nowhere. Not even an apology! These peope barely spoke English! And it is clear to me that with the high demand, travelocity was able to get a higher price for our rooms, so they simply screwed us out of them.

Like on seinfield, its not taking the reservation thats so important, its HOLDING the reservation. What gives? Never using these jerks again. You shouldnt either...

Deceitful practices
March 29, 2015

When I ask for two beds, I expected to get two actual beds. When I called to complain that we had got one bed and a pullout sofa, Travelocity said that it was acceptable for the second bed to be a sofa bed. The springs in the sofa mattress were so uncomfortable that my 17 year old daughter ended up making a pallet and sleeping on the floor. I feel Travelocity ( and Holiday Inn Express) were totally misleading and deceitful and because of this practice of misrepresenting what they offer, I do not recommend them. Never Again!
March 15, 2015

These people suck! Drove up 5 hours to the hotel I had booked through travelocity only to find out when I finally got there that the hotel was already full and travelocity over booked me. I had a meeting to go to in less than 8 hours and had been up since 8 am the day before so I'm about to hit 24 hours with no rest and really needed my room that I had already booked and payed for. So I literaly had to sleep in my car last night and obviously didn't make it to the meeting. The first day of the whole trip ruined because these geniuses overbooked and apparently it hasn't been the first time this has happened. I recommend you call the hotel directly. As far as my money back... Good luck... Hundreds of dollars and many hours spent for nothing.

We used Travelocity to book a flight and hotel in Washington D. C. Due to a snowstorm, we needed to leave a day earlier than expected. When checking out of the hotel, we inquired about getting a refund for the night we wouldn't be using. They told us that because we booked through Travelocity, we couldn't deal with the hotel directly. I e-mailed Travelocity when we got home but they said they could not do anything over e-mail. So then I called. After being on hold for over an hour and then repeatedly having to provide itinerary numbers, confirm numbers and flight numbers, I could see that they had no intention of refunding any of my money. Then while I sat there on hold for the beginning of the second hour, I was just disconnected. Completely dropped the call. And even though they have my phone number (I know this since they asked for it 3 times to confirm my itinerary) they didn't bother to call me back. I will try sending another e-mail (I WILL NOT GET ON THE PHONE AGAIN) but I'm sure I won't get any positive response. So lesson learned is NEVER book through Travelocity. You are so much better off booking directly with the airlines and hotels.

February 22, 2015

When we travel, we always use this site. Not sure about a hotel? Want to try a new restaurant? Looking for sites to see in an unfamiliar area? Just head over to the customer reviews and find your answers here. I have to say that the total ratings given have always been pretty accurate

I have used them consistently for a long time... but if you are outside the US, it can be impossible to get hold of them by phone if you have an issue... and they don't respond to emails in any detail... they also have a lot of new internationals working on the reservations lines... and i hung up on them twice last week when the person working on my reservation couldn't find a flight that i was looking at on my computer... sad to see it happen

The customer service was extremely horrible. I am calling long distance and it took over 20 minutes for the lady to help me with nothing. She kept me on the phone not saying anything and I thought she hung up and I had to say hello to her in order to know she was still on the phone. Then she had to put me on hold for roughly 10 minutes and still was not able to complete what I needed. At the end of a substantial wait I had to hang up and re call them to get another person to help me. Even calling back that person took another 15 minutes but, at least this time they accomplished the task of what I needed. This is just ridiculous customer service. NEVER USE TRAVELOCITY EVER AGAIN! Flights maybe slightly cheaper but, omg customer service is just immensely ridiculous. I rather go to another provider and pay a little extra. I used kayak before and they're amazing quick, easy, nice and knows what the hell they're doing.

Travelocity now charges a booking fee for airline tickets. Do not waste your time there. I purchase two tickets and was charged 41.00. They used to say they added no extra charges and guaranteed lowest fares. Not any more. Stay away.

We were more than happy with our experience with Travelocity. We had booked a flight that made two stops on our way to the destination. The airline changed our flights a couple of times which extended our time to get to the destination. When I called Travelocity to ask if there was anything that could be done to shorten our time, The customer service agent put me on hold and call Delta directly to discuss it. She was able to rearrange my flight and was very helpful. I think they went above and beyond. We were helped by Moe and Mark at the Travelocity Canada call center on December 28 in the evening.

My daughter booked two tickets through Travelocity - she tried doing it online but had some problems so she called. The woman apparently didn't speak good enough English to do anything other than royally screw up everything. First she issued two tickets from one city, instead of the two cities we were flying from (same destination just diff. Starting points). Then she changed the arrival airport, then she put the wrong name on one ticket (a combination of our names). When I called about the name problem I was told it would cost $50 to fix it. I pointed out it was Travelocity's error, spoke to two different managers, both of whom were of no help at all and insisted it was our problem. Interestingly, when I was finally hung up on by Irving at Travelocity and I called Frontier directly, I was told Travelocity didn't have the authority to correct the name and that only the airline could do that. Frontier kindly corrected the name at no charge. Why in the world would anyone use Travelocity? I sure won't ever patronize them again and neither will my daughter.

Booked a vacation for one price, got an email the next day informing me it didn't go through. I then called Travelocity and was informed that we could no longer get that price, because the deal was only for the day we booked it on. Tried to resolve the issue on the phone, was informed that a supervisor would call back; supervisor never called back. Called Travelocity back myself to try and resolve the issue. Came down to a Travelocity agent saying there was a communication issue between them and the cruise line and they can not do anything about it. They were kind enough to give the option to down-grade rooms and pay a higher price (sarcasm). They do NOT honor their advertised prices, even after you book a trip. If something is messed up on their end, the customer pays for it, or doesn't get it. They do NOT take accountability for the mishaps on their end. Currently have plane tickets and no place to vacation. Thank you Travleocity for being more concerned with your own pocket book, than the consumers satisfaction.
What I took away with my experience: Go directly to the hotel, cruise, or airline and book.
