Travelocity Reviews Summary

Travelocity's reputation is predominantly marred by negative customer experiences, particularly concerning their customer service and refund policies. Many customers express frustration over poor communication, lack of support, and difficulties in obtaining refunds for canceled bookings. Complaints often highlight unexpected fees, miscommunication regarding rental agreements, and unfulfilled service promises. While a few reviews mention competitive pricing, the overwhelming sentiment suggests that the potential savings are overshadowed by the company's perceived dishonesty and inadequate service. Overall, customers advise caution when considering Travelocity for travel arrangements, emphasizing a lack of trust in the company's practices.

Fraud and hidden fees
January 18, 2016

Booked a stay using the Travelocity.com web site, During booking process the the web site explained $97.00 room rate and $50.00 for taxes and fees. After my stay I discovered an additional fee of $146.00 was added. After contacting Travelocity.com they advised there was nothing the would do to try and explain or rectify the issue. In addition to 40 min hold times with Costumer service and being continually disconnected I would not recommend this web site to anyone.

Not necessary
January 11, 2016

The sites are so commercialized that it makes this an annoying shopping experience. Besides, AAirlines now gives me their lowest fare guarranteed. No need to be with Travelocity.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
January 9, 2016

We have 14 people wanting to book a trip with us makes 16, I booked online, first when I booked the screen came up and said could not book at this time, checked bank account, charges came out, did not get a receipt called customer service, what idiots! Finally a "supervisor" called me back. Not much better. Barely spoke English. He had to type out a receipt, and send it to me via email. I went online to try and redo my trip and within 5 minutes it had gone down, $20.00 no biggie but when I told him his attitude what oh well, I told him about all the business they lost aprox. $8,400.00, did not care. Will let everyone know about this online. Do not book with them, if you do, print out the summary box before you book, cause you won't get one afterwards.

I had not used this service before. My bad. I should have checked to make sure the information was accurate on the hotel. The hotel was horrible, it was 2 hours from an event and due to this distance, I totally missed the wedding.
When I called for a refund, Travelocity wanted the hotel to refund my money... NOT THEIR SERVICES. I spoke with an agent who sounded like she was from another country.
I WILL NEVER EVER USE TRAVELOCITY AGAIN.

Disappointed
December 24, 2015

First day of vacation a total waste. Got up at 5am only to have our early flight cancelled. Had to wait 7 hours for next flight. Had 20 minutes to make connecting flight and had to run from one end of the Denver airport to the other. Ended up with shin splints - in pain the rest of my vacation. Hotel charged me an additional $33.60 for some recreational hotel fee that I didn't know I was going to have to pay. What a disappointment!

This is the 1st time I've used Travelocity and the absolute last time. I used Priceline a few months ago to book a flight (4 days, 3 nights, rental car, suite on South Beach Miami) it was a lot less than what I paid this time with Travelocity. I thought we were getting as good of a deal as our last vacation. BOY WAS I WRONG! The first room we went to at the Luxor Hotel smelled like mildew and all the way in the back corner. We overlooked the A/C's and no view outside. The bathroom light flickered on and off. The heating and cooling system is like the ones you see in older motels. No wall unit. We went to the front desk and asked for another room. I told them for the price I paid, I should get a very nice room. He said he wasn't sure how much I had paid, but this was the room that was booked through the Travel Agency (Travelocity). We were given a Wi-Fi passcode. My photos always back up over it. I took over 705 photos, thinking my phone backed everything up, I deleted my photos. Oh well, I still have the memories. But, beware -- don't trust the Wi-Fi. I'm not sure what we paid for. The rooms did not have a refrigerator, microwave, table, couch... etc for the insane price.

I always book our cruises through Travelocity. I can compare lots of different options, and frequently they offer upgrades/gifts not offered by the individual cruise line. The prices are the same as the cruise line's websites.

I purchased a hotel reservation thru Travelocity and their web site defaulted to some other dates and reserved the hotel for a lot more days than I wanted. I called Travelocity within 5 minutes and their foreign, could hardly speak English "customer service rep" told me he would look into it and take care of it. After I made 4 additional calls to Travelocity, no one ever called me back. Ant the hotel is charging me for the incorrect dates! I wish I had checked Travelocity's reputation befor ever using them.

Yes, it happened to me. I booked a multi destination flight to Europe on Travelocity, then my grandfather died right before i was scheduled to leave. There is no "rebooking" of flights, and once you miss a leg of a flight the rest gets cancelled. I was presented with the option of missing the trip that i spend almost 3k (2 tickets) on flights on, vs. buying new flights for 5k. I spent hours off and on hold with customer service while at my grandfathers funeral. Terrible experience. Use them just to compare flights, then book directly with the airline! The airline will be much more likely to want to help you if something goes wrong.

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Colorado. A beautiful hotel. The staff were very professional and very friendly. I forgot my charger for my 6 iphone. I asked the hotel front desk if they had a charger, they didn't but offered that I could use an employees charger and they would charge it for me. How awesome. We really enjoyed the Fireside Lounge for cocktails and live music. Very cozy! The location is perfect, only blocks from 16th street which is a walking mall full of restaurants, bars and shops. I will definetly stay here again!

We enjoyed a delightful evening at The Pullman in Glenwood Springs, Co. The service, food and wine were excellent, the setting fun but not too noisy. Our waiter John was very knowledgeable re: food preparation, ingredients, seemed really excited to be part of the overall top notch dining experience.

DO NOT USE TRAVELOCITY!
November 3, 2015

I tried booking a flight the cost went up twice before I called to complain, I spoke to someone who couldn't help me, I asked for a supervisor, I then was kept on hold for 35 minutes before someone picked up, she said she would check flights and kept me holding again for 15 more minutes before it seems she hung up on me. It seems the website offers flight combinations that the airlines don't allow and in the meantime the pricing for the other flights continue to rise. Very disappointed, Travelocity lost me as a customer.
I just went to my credit card account and saw Travelocity CHARGED MY CARD 11 TIMES and told me I was not charged at all!

I have made a reservation on 08.10.2015 for 1 night stay at Hostel 44 and my cheking in was supposed to be on 11.10.2015. At 11:00 PM I arrived at 13 Kyrnigradska str. And was totally shocked to find out that the hostel (Hostel 44)does NOT EXIST!
Furthemore, according to the people who were living nearby, there was no such place at that address in the past at all or any other sort of accommodation. According to the neighbours, 5 moths ago at the same address somebody has given several rooms for rent (part of his/her apartment), but the Bulgarian authorities had shut them down.
So, at 11 o'clock in the evening me and a friend of mine, had to stay on the street in the pouring rain, without an idea where to go. Only the fortune, had brought us to a Jewish hotel ( Levitt hotel), which was completely full at that time ( just as several other places we had the chance to check before), but the staff was kind enough to leave us in the kitchen and saved us from sleeping on the street during a severe rain storm. The staff explained to us that this is not the only time they accommodated guests, who were cheated by booking.com
In my opinion, you are promoting fake accommodations in order to get access to my credit card details and to use them for criminal purposes.
