Short and simple;; this is not a good company to deal with; they sold me an engine on 10 /25
It didnt arrive until a month later, found out it was no good, didnt know their ratings was so low. ITS BEEN( 7 MTHS) STILL HAVENT Driven MY VEHICLE...
The engine I purchased for $1,495.00 was not in working condition. When the engine arrived, it looked like it had been pulled from a junk yard, spray painted and shipped. It was missing parts, parts were cracked, and there were even broken plastic parts within the engine compartments. My mechanic was appalled by the condition in which the engine arrived and advised that after a closer inspection, he didn't know if it was worth trying to repair the broken parts. Since I needed my vehicle, my mechanic spent a lot of time cleaning out all of broken parts inside of the engine, not to mention replacing missing bolts, repairing the damaged hoses, and crankshaft pulley, to name a few. As a result, I had to spend approximately an extra $900.00 with my mechanic so he could replace parts before installing the engine. I also encountered storage fees as a result of SW Engines, not to mention the shipping delays for which no one could explain. SW Engines advised that the engine was put through quality control but there is no way in hell that engine went through quality control. Take a look at these photographs. Horrific experience.
I was invoiced and paid for a motor 20 days ago, I get the same story every time I call - waiting on shipper. I have left multiple messages for DALE JONES - a manager there and no return call, This place is a joke. Call LKQ or anyine but these folks..
SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM! Do not ever recommend! This is the shadiest "company" I have ever dealt with! Don't waste your precious time or hard earned money with this scam of a company! Customer service is a complete joke… they are either the most incompetent people or just the shadiest! They owe me $1200 for a labor warranty claim. I may have to file a lawsuit since this shady company refuses to send my money, refuses to give any information about the owner, president, management or any contact information. I don't know how they keep getting away with this! Check other reviews, they are all similar. It's a huge problem! SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM
S&W engines does not cover any warranty issues as they claim to. I bought a 5.9 diesel Cummins from them. They sent me a bad motor and they will not honor it. I sent them all the documentation they requested and sent videos of the engine smoking and they will not talk to me. They hang up on me. This is being an ongoing issue for six weeks. I cannot get through to anybody in management. I have spent over $9000 on this engine installation and I'm still stuck with a bad motor I should have never bought from them.! Disgusting company. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. The #Warranty department is an Asian answering service and they ask the same stupid questions every time you call them and then they hang up on you and they said they're gonna connect you to management. That's how they operate.
This company makes me very angry. We ordered an engine after business hours on the Friday before Thanksgiving. Less than 24 hrs later I called to cancel the order but even tho the voicemail said their business hours included Saturday, they were closed (I assumed due to holiday). First thing Monday morning I called and waited on hold over an hour to get a cancellation form email to me. They still charged me $443 restocking fee! There's NO WAY there was a restocking fee. They are nothing but rip offs. AVOID THIS BUSINESS!
I recommended this company to my son because i received my engine from them back in 2016 and haven't had one issue. They sent my son the wrong engine and when it was returned, they took half of his money! They will not return calls. And refuse to correct the issue. At this point i advised my son to speak with an attorney. Wish i had read these reviews before referring people to this company. I'M EMBARRASSED AND HURT TO SEE THIS GOING ON TO ANY AND EVERYONE. YOU GUYS SHOULD BE ASHAMED, BUT I WILL NOT TAKE THIS LYING DOWN!
Engine was damaged during shipping and delayed for 6 weeks. Also upon arrival it had an inoperable cylinder -Zero customer service
I ordered a 3.0 V6 from these people who were very spefic about needing my vin number to send me the correct engine.and said it would take 2 weeks to receive my engine. It took them almost 8 weeks to send the WRONG engine and than charged me a restocking fee and all the shipping I paid 1670 dollars for the wrong engine and only refunded 360 dollars.as my refund and they blamed me.
Biggest Thieves out there don't buy from these people..
I own a 2007 Ford Super Duty 6.0 Diesel. Unfortunately the motor sucked a lifter, and was a total loss.
After trying to find a local engine, I started searching the internet. Some how these guys come up "Clean" unless you start digging, which I didn't do.
I pay $4200 for a 2007 6.0 Diesel with 105K miles. As every one else has experienced, it took way longer than I was told. I order the motor on May 8th 2023.
Because my CC has an Az address, they had to send the motor to Az (Truck is in Cali), so I had to spend an extra $250 to forward the motor to Cali. When I received the motor, it was a 2004. My mechanic, who happens to be ASME Ford Certified for 6.0 motors, said it will not work without a lot of changes including the wiring harness.
I contacted SWEngines, and they tell me we will get back to you. After a week, they tell me its the same motor. I told them my invoice clearly says 2007 6.0 and its clearly a 2004. They exchange a few messages with me, then another guy by the name of Nick (Working for a Stephen Young) gets involved.
They send a bill of laden to have the 2004 motor picked up. After countless emails, I finally get a 2006 motor which is a drop in replacement. I received the replacement the first week of September. According to their warrantee, the motor has to be installed within 10 days after receipt. My mechanic's schedule was full until mid Sept, so needless to say the warrantee is void.
Once my mechanic started digging into the motor, there were lots of problems. It was installed, new fluids, then crank the motor over. Cranked a few times and hydrolocked, which took the starter out (My original one). After some investigation, they found two injectors that had been removed with defective o-rings and missing copper crush washers. There is no way this motor was running when it was pulled. It appears someone pulled 2 of the original injectors to sell to some one. When the motor was dispatched to ship, they dropped in other injectors, which no way would have functioned with the bad/missing gaskets.
The bad injectors filled up the crankcase with Diesel fuel, which means the fluids and the filters had to be changed.
All said and done, it cost me an extra $1653 to get the motor functioning over and above my original quote for the install. My mechanic also told me to change the oil one more time after about 1000 miles due to the possibility of fuel still in the crankcase. Just parts to change my oil is about $160 (Synthetic oil, stiction additive, and after market filter)
Oh lets not forget they shipped the replacement motor to Az again even after giving them an California address, and there goes another $250
I have sent a few emails to SWEngines, and of course to response. Next step is to contact the local Wisconsin Consumer Protection agency
If it were possible to leave negative stars this company would get negative a million. This company is 100% a SCAM. They will send you what you ordered, maybe a month later but you do get it, however you need to have the engine fully inspected while it's still on the pallet because they will try to keep your money by saying the warranty was void when the engine gets installed. Then when returning the item, they will NOT communicate with you on when the engine gets back to them, and they will try to keep your money, by telling you they will send the refund and then never doing it. This company hasn't done a SINGLE thing they have said they would. Don't waste your time or money on this company. They should be shut down for being scam artists.
It's been a month and still no engine. They took my $$ and now I'm stuck in the loop of endless of call center hold. I think I've been scammed $3200.
They sent the wrong engines, then charge me a restocking fee $478 An never sent the right engine,Call them 20 times asking to speak to a supervisor never got a call. This is the worse company i ever had to deal with, Dont buy anything from them rip off
A friend recommended SWEngines and I took his word for it -- I rank this among the top three worst decisions I have ever made, and I don't remember the other two.
One disaster after another.
I completed my order 13 May, 2023. "Thank you for your recent order (Invoice # *******) from SWEngines.com: 300-******* 2016 Nissan Frontier Engine 4.0L (VIN A, 4th digit, VQ40DE)
We truly value your business"
16 May I received a notification from them the order was being processed and will ship in 7-14 business days.
On 31 May, I received an apology for a "slight delay".
Finally shipping confirmation on 5 June.
Then I get this on 7 June, "Sent paperwork to the warehouse to get this picked up and they loaded it onto the incorrect truck. Should have it back here in the next few days and then reship out to you, that transit time is 3-4 business days. You should receive this by next week."
Followed by more reassurances on 12 June, "First and foremost, we want to apologize for having to send another email about a delay with your order. Rest assured, YOUR order is our top priority."
Then on 19 June "I see this was returned to the warehouse but not sure why they havent given me the ok to reship yet. Ill reach out to my contact in the morning and get this resolved."
20 June "I got it figured out, pushing this onto the truck today to head your way. Transit times are between 3-5 business days from my estimation."
FINALLY the engine shows up 9 July.
But guess what – the engine oil cooler is busted as it sits on the shipping container. It is a +$400 OEM part that I find for just over $300 including tax and shipping. I figure no problem SWEnginens has a warrantee program. Right? – I have to prepare the engine and pay to have it sent back to SWEngines and either request a refund – assuming they acknowledge responsibility – or pay to have a replacement shipped to me. What kind of a warrantee is that? Useless. Regardless of any disclaimer, how can SWEngines test performance of an engine with a busted oil cooler?
I cannot count the number of times I called SWEngines trying to get help. I cannot count the number of times I was told that someone would get back to me and never did.
I bought 2 engines from then for ford rangers and both of them we beat up when we got them and the timing chains were broke and laying in bottom valves bent so had more money in them then I could have bought a new one. Call them they said take pic and we will refund u the parts and labor and put the engine together cuz I couldn't hold my bay up and the customer was not happy how long it was taking. Then now it's been about a year I have been fighting with them to get my money and now they r saying that none of that is under warranty and that the timing chain and the valves being bent is just an Accessory and not a main part... they wont refund me anything. This company sucks and I hope nobody buys from them if they had a 0 rating i would give it to them...
Very unprofessional, asked me for a secured code from my bank that your told to not give out; representative told me it would be fine...she said then that she would email the invoice to me to e-signe and approve...she emailed me the invoice alright but it wasn't to verify and e-signe.
When I called back and spoke to a representative I was calm but upset and tried to explain my predicament...I was told to " $#*! off and Go $#*! myself" by a gentleman representative before being hung up on! % Facts here, no bs because I was unsatisfied...I'm no Karen! Just blown away is all!
I purchase a 2013 Audi A4 engine from these people. Invoice number ******* on Feb 2023.
They sold me an engine they never had at all and agent told me they will credit back to me the CORE amount when they get the CORE back. She also said the company will pick it up at their cost when we finish installing. ALL LIES, LIES, and LIES. They did not send the engine until May 2023 and they did not pay back my CORE credit. I am filing the law suit against them. If you need to sue them, lets do it together by filing the same file you can call me at *******893
Don't do any business with this company they are crooks. They do not honor their warranty. Bought a Transmission from them it was bad from the start. Tried to contact them for refund got no satisfaction. Called a number of times. Don't return your calls or they hang up on you. Bad Business.

Purchased an engine at the end of May on the 23rd and its now 2 days away from March. Suppose to be 1-2 weeks to ship out but going on close to 2 months now.
SW engines customer service team can never get me connected with a manager Stephen or Bill Jones. Sw engines says that this order has been escalated to shipping manager Stephan or Steven (everyone says this name different) and there isn't anything else they can do other than wait for a response from shipping company. When they do transfer me to the shipping manager number, its always full and not able to leave a message. I have called about 5-15 times daily for the past 2 weeks for the shipping manager that SW engines says is handling my order. Turns out SW engines shipping manager is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT company called Premium parts and solutions.
I was finally able to get a hold of someone last Friday 21st of April who told me that the engine was stocked in warehouse due to engine leaking on pallet and was never updated or informed management team. They said that it would be shipped out Monday 24th of April, but never heard back or updated with tracking. Finally someone got back to my email on Wednesday 26th with a tracking, only to find out that the shipping company Dayton Freight has no information regarding that tracking number or information from a shipment coming from SW engines/Premium Parts Solutions.
(( SW engines has not once reached out with an update for me during my entire month and a week long wait for my order. They never helped pursuing any answers to help in any way. These company keep passing the problem baton to someone else and it a circle that returns you back to the same people...))
I can't express this enough, this company will be a major headache for anyone looking to purchase any auto parts. If something happens to your order, there will be NO help for you with the SW engines.
On the verge of requesting a refund and maybe taking further actions. I was strung along for far too long and my patience has eroded away with them.
WE ARE A BUSINESS THAT PURCHASED AN ENGINE IN 2021, CALLED THE DAY IT ARRIVED WHICH WAS 12 DAYS LATE ARRIVING, TO ACTIVATE THE WARRANTY AS TOLD TO DO. WELL TODAY 4/27/23 I CALL TO FILE A CLAIM ON THE ENGINE...NO WARRANTY ACTIVATED SO THEREFORE WAS BUMPED TO A 6 MONTH PART ONLY WARRANTY...THE LADAY TODAY WAS VERY RUDE, DIDNT WANT TO HEAR WHAT I HAD TO SAY AND HUNG UP ON ME AFTER ASKING TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. CALLED BACK WAS ON HOLD FOR OVER 45 MIN.
