I purchase an engine in March of 2021. It was sold with a 3 year 36,000 mi warranty.
The engine blew 17 months later with 18,300 miles.
I tried to reach SWengines to try to get a replacement engine with 0 results.
I tried to explain my situation but was told that I did not register the warranty that was supposedly sent via email to me. I asked them for a copy/or a record of such an email and was told they did not have it?
Therefore, I have to surmise that this so-called "warranty" is as bogus as the company that I spent $8,495.00 with.
If anyone with SWengine sees this review and can prove me wrong, I will gladly await to hear from you!

Was promised a tested motor which took 2 weeks to get it in because I was told it was going through "quality control"! When it finally arrived I had it installed, drove it one week only to discover it had low compression in a cylinder (bad motor). Had to jump through hoops to get a replacement motor shipped, it arrived, had it installed and then was told it would take up to 10 business days to get the reimbursement for the install labor into my account. Today is day 9, received an email telling me that they are only reimbursing $650 of the $1,547.75 charge for the 2nd replacement motor installation which includes the $200 diagnostic test that was required on the defective motor by them in order to be eligible to receive the replacement motor. This is leaving me to cover $897.75 of the cost to install the replacement motor that was their responsibility for because of the defective 1st motor. Their customer service is absolutely horrible, I would not recommend ever doing business with them ever!

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with they do not honor the warranty first my engine came rolling around in the back of a pickup it was all damaged then I called they were okay and responding back they sent me another engine and it was in worse conditions I posted pictures all over the place the engine has been glued silicone together and I called him back numerous times spoke with the manager Sancho and he has hung up twice on me and you would think he'd make it priority to figure out what needs to be done next I call him back he doesn't know my name doesn't know anyting doesn't have my invoice number he asked me for my invoice number and he says hold and then he hangs up this is two or three times every time I talk to customer service they say send pictures I send send pictures and they never get back to me this is rip off please be where I'm posting this to beg everybody to shut these people down I've been asking to speak to the owner of this company I don't want managers I don't want anything I want my money back and I want this company to go away and quit screwing people

I ordered a 4.7L for a 2010 Ram 1500 on 14 June 2021. I was told 7-14 business days and that part was fine. I got sucked in by the 3 year warrantee, "No core charge" and "No shipping fee". Surprise of surprises when they send me a request for a review just 2 days later.
When it arrived at the shop it had lots of damage by mistreatment! Heater core lines and radiator hoses were cut, instead of just using the proper tool to remove the hose clamps. The shim between the engine and tranny was mangled so bad as to be useless! BOTH valve covers were bashed in on the front portion of the engine and stuffed with rags! Wiring bundles and connectors YANKED with force as to ruin the connectors. Main wiring bundle just cut through and drivers side exhaust line burned off the exhaust manifold, rendering it ALSO USELESS!
I'm not an ASA certified or Master Mechanic, HOWEVER, I've been doing this for years and have NEVER seen such a piece of crap job of pulling an engine!

I went with these guys because the website promised a steam cleaned, shrink wrapped and crated, tested engine. What I got was an engine unsecured on a broken freight pallet, lying on it's side, no wrapping, intake and exhaust ports left open to the elements, dirty engine oil left in the crankcase, hole in the cast aluminum valve cover, cut hoses and harnesses, rust and grime etc. Look at the pictures.

Read the fine print of their warranty and know their engines don't come with the oil pan sealed. I had the engine installed and low and behold... the engine seized due to low oil. A certified shop undid the oil pan and it just fell off indicating there was no seal otherwise it wouldn't have just fallen off. I called the warranty department and no help at all just said that's not covered. Why ship it without it being sealed? Why not expressly let people know "make sure you check or redo this"? Roll the dice and lose a lot of money I guess if you dare.

I bought a used engine from this company for my truck and the mechanic installed it but it failed to work. This company sold me a faulty engine and when I proceeded to call them in the warranty department; it was such a poor experience the support team could not help at all and the manager never returned my calls. This company is a SCAM, DO NOT buy from them as they will cheat you the same way as they did to me.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. I received a bad engine. Keep asking me questions over and over. I sent them pictures of the problem on engine. I received a engine that was modified from the previous owner that had the engine before I bought it. Keep telling me that case was being reviewed but is been approx a month. Take my advice don't buy from them. Small claims in process.

I ordered an engine for my Toyota Camry
When i ordered my engine it showed all the details ( mileage, year, ect) and they said that it would take some time to run tests before shipping it to me, so i got to the second week and my dad pointed out that they had horrible reviews with this company and i hadn't even checked the reviews and so i decided to give them a chance and they lived up to there reviews as a horrible company so one month after i ordered it i canceled and the shipping guy calls and said "hey i saw that you had canceled your order and i just want to let you know that its here ready to send" and i said "why couldn't you send it last week?" he said "well we just got it 4 days ago!" (that means they take orders for engines they don't even own and order engines for cheap and make you wait for something that you could have ordered on ebay)so i held with my decision and after looked on eBay and found a guy (with over 1200 salls and 98 % good reviews) selling a exact matching engine for $700 and asked if he would lower the price to $600 and so i got the engine for $600 paid on Thursday received my engine on Tuesday i had paid https://www.swengines.com/ $1260 and they refunded me only $950 just a bunch of crapheads

I bought a 5.4L engine and it was trash... parts of timing guide in oil pan. They agreed to Full Refund but only refunded me 75%. Tried to follow up and got major runaround... still no Full Refund. Lawsuit time!

I placed an order for the engine on 3/9/21. Was sent an email saying 7-14 days. As of 4/5/21 I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED RHE THE ENGINE or any kinda of communication about shipping. When I call I'm sent to the shipping department and they keep telling me the same thing " It's being packaged for shipment". Mind you they told me this exactly a week ago. This was a terrible decision to order from this place because now I feel like I have to track someone down and that's not successful.

This place needs to be shut down. They have complaints for many years but still do business. Ans still are ripping off people. How are rhey allowed to continue? I think its time for a class action suit. My daughter purchased a motor last March then covid shut everything down. She just tried to have it put in o ly to find out they lied about the miles on it ans it was rusted all along the bottom. Its a crap. Motor. When she called the guy he basically said its been over 90 days warranty. So not his problem. Ive seen many apon many complaints of people being ripped off by these jokers. Time to lawyer up.

Time for a class action lawsuit. This is the worse excuse of a company I have ever experienced dealing with. Scott is a sorry excuse for a customer service person. But then that's how this company does business.

Wish I had seen these reviews sooner! I ordered an engine for a customer. Getting the engine was another story, I waited over two months! Then when the engine failed a couple of months later, they shipped a new one but did not honor their guarantee of paying for labor. After reading the other reviews, I'm lucky that they even sent a replacement engine! Customer service gives you the run around, disconnects you when they say they are transferring your call, or won't even answer your calls! Trying to get and file the correct warranty papers is a no win, red tape process. They offer a 5 year warranty but do not honor it. You need a full time person just to call, email, and process the warranty paperwork with this company! Buyer beware!

Tried to do a bait and switch on me.
When I called them on it they got very defensive and rude.

SW Engines makes a used car salesman that went into politics look like a saint. They will never tell you the truth when a good lie is available. I have been in the automobile business for over 60 years in different capacities and this is the worst outfit I have ever dealt with.

I must say I ordered a motor for my sons car and before making the purchase I didn't read the reviews once I decided to do so I had already paid for the motor and the reviews sent me into a panic I couldn't believe the horror I was reading but after I had over reacted made calls to my credit card company to stop the payments ext I got a call from there customer service assuring me everything would be ok to not listen to all the negative reviews the guy on the phone was really nice and calmed me down and made me feel more at ease so I called my credit card company again and ok the payment received the motor with in a week and a half had it put in with in three days the place that did it said the motor was like new so far so good I paid 3,700 it had 50,000 miles and runs great. I'm hoping it stays like that I would recommend swengines.

This People are scammers i have no idea how they remain selling junk for high prices the person in charge of warranties a nasty man that no one can talk too They send the wrong engines junk and they void you guaranty do not even attempt to buy here i made a big mistake with this crooks BIG WARNING DO BOT BUY HERE I paid $1200 for what it was suppose to be a engine for a pick up S10 instead they send a Cavalier engine with low compression they do not test for compression they send me junk filed a claim with credit card and will report to BBB VERY DISGUSTED with this people save your time and money
