Terrible customer service, money hunger, over priced airline. You have to pay for everything... including ur carry on... not even water is free. You have to check in online or get charged to check in at the airline... cancel and delay flights. Don't give refund. Just terrible! Do not use! EVER!

If you've ever had the unfortunate experience of flying Spirit Airlines then you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Let me start by saying you'll be charged a hefty $35 hidden baggage fee as soon as you book your flight. Wait... it gets worse. They are notorious for misplacing, losing, damaging your $35 checked bag. I once flew from Tampa to KC with layover in Detroit. I get to KC and see that my bag is not on belt. Fill out lost form provided by Spirit, get home and try and call the 1-800 to check status of claim. 1) Voice prompted call stating their hours are from 9-5:30 EST but no one ever answers. 2) call local Spirit baggage claim number on top of form, phone just rings until it cuts off 3) call Spirit customer service line, after several Voice prompts someone will finally pick up and they'll direct you right back to 1-800 on claim form. This is service you pay $35 per bag. Failure to pay online will cost you $50 at the gate. Finally after several attempts someone from Detroit calls me and says your bag will be expedited to you. I guess Spirit's expedition means when we get around to it. Other problem is they usually only offer 1 flight per day anywhere outside of connecting city. So if your bag is lost night before be ready to wait until the following night before even thinking about changing clothes. The old saying " you get what you pay for" doesn't apply to Spirit. " You get none of which you pay for".

Wannabee airline

Every time I fly on spirit it's an adventure. Flight times are rarely on time leaving me stuck in an airport with nothing to do for hours. The last flight was delayed 5 hours. As a nice gesture they did send a $50.00 credit that expires in 60 days! Doubt that will ever get used. I also signed up for their credit card luring me in with 15,000 miles for travel. After adding miles through all my travels I wanted to use them but the total wasn't enough for an 1,100 mile trip, their solution: buy more miles plus *add'l cash*! More than the original price! Extremely a no frills airline with pay for everything agenda. Search well before you fly Spirit. Oh yeah uncomfortable seating, really crammed it there.

We took a Spirit airline flight from Oakland to Las Vegas. We only travel with carry-on. When we were downloading the boarding passes at the airport, a woman in a Spirit uniform walked up to us and asked if we'd like to check our luggage. We said, "
No, We just have carry-on". She responded "That will be $55.00 each bag. " On board, we had to buy coffee and water.

Coming home, we flew Delta from Salt Lake to Oakland. While in the lounge, a uniformed Delta employee came up to asked if we would like him to put our luggage in the overhead for us! We couldn't believe it. We found it safely in the overhead when we got to our seats.

Now which airline would you fly? For details about Delta's Basic Economy plan, go to Flyers Rights. Org. There are many restrictions.

This is a terrible website. Hard to maneuver and figure out but more so, the airline is awful and I haven't even gotten to the flight. The hidden fees are crazy and unacceptable for me and I personally, will not fly them again.

Do not use this airline! They'll rip you off anyway they can.

Spirit put through payment for another year. I was not contacted. It was automatic. I contacted PayPal and was told the payment went through. No kidding? I attempted to contact Spirit at least 5 times on 5 different days. I was put on hold, disconnected, sent to another country with people who's accent was so thick I literally couldn't understand them. I sent an email and received no confirmation. Round and round.

I finally - finally found how to cancel the card. I canceled the card. I did not get a confirmation it was canceled. AND I could still login. Another hour on the phone till I spoke to someone.

I was told the reason I could still login was because I was a former member and they would honor former members. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Why would I want to work with you ever?

I am told I am canceled and still have not received a confirmation. I also did not get the yearly membership fee returned.

Complete rip-off.
