They changed my flight with no notice and gave me no option for a refund or to pick a different flight. When I contacted them about it they basically told me that they're allowed to change my flight without any notice and it's not their responsibility to make sure I get home.

I book a vacation package with them including car, flight and hotel and also a travel insurance that cover my entire trip. I cancel it in less that's 24 hours because it was a business trip and it got canceled. They made you think that you are getting a package with them but is not. Everything is separately through Priceline. They didn't want to refund me but to give a credit, even with the insurance that we purchased. What a mess, what an experience. Had to call many places and even do a chat with them in the computer. A nightmare spend a total of 3 and half hours to resolve this. Go somewhere else. Jetblue is great never had issues, Alaska airline also.

Spirit
November 6, 2023

Spirit has a bad customer service. I had vouchers because they messed up. I extended them once and then I got ill and ended up in the hospital on ICU and my stay was for 12 days. I called towns day and they would not help me. I have all the hospital papers to prove it. Never flying them again. Can not believe no one tries to help!

I am deeply dismayed by my experience with this airline, which left me feeling like a victim of racism.

This airline is by far the worst I've encountered, where you have to pay for everything, and the service is abysmal.

I had a cabin trolley bag and a laptop bag, both weighing under 7 kgs. When I opted for a preferred seat with extra leg space at the baggage drop, they charged me for the seat but conveniently failed to inform me about the additional baggage fees.

To my shock, during boarding, I was singled out and forced to pay an additional $99 for my bags. When I tried to explain my situation, they callously threatened to bump me to a flight 25 hours later.

This ordeal took place at the Phoenix Arizona airport, and the staff's behavior was not only unprofessional but also offensive. They made it clear that they were judging me based on my skin color and held me solely responsible for my situation.

I've endured countless unnecessary security checks and frisks at various U.S. airports as an Indian traveler, even when my fellow passengers were never subjected to the same treatment. However, this experience was the last straw, especially considering the significant amount of money I had spent.

I deeply regret ever placing my trust in this airline. They nickel and dime you for everything, from food and water to seats and baggage, including cabin luggage. To make matters worse, none of their seats even recline on longer flights

Booked my next flight with Frontier Airlines! You should too. Spirit is awful!
Planned a three day trip to Vegas. Flew Spirit out of Detroit. The flight was delayed 9+ hours. Boarding should have occurred on or about 9:20 pm on June 1 with a take off of 10:02 pm. The flight took off at 6:20 am the following morning June 2. The gate agents provided very little information during the delay other than they were waiting on a pilot to come in off another flight. During the wait time, the pilot that did show up "timed out". Eventually the staff announced the flight would not leave until 5:15 am the next morning. Frustrated customers were given the choice for refund or to book on another Spirit Flight. Customers were so angry with the gate agents and Spirit for the delays, lack of communication and overall attitude that local police were brought to the gate to supervise Spirit's shenanigans. Vendors close early at Detroit Airport. For those of us that could not rebook a flight, no food vouchers were offered, no hotel vouchers offered and if you wanted to rebook a flight, only Sprit was offered (no other Airlines) forcing Spirt customers additional days of delays. When it came time fly out the following morning, a pilot was late causing a flight attendant to time out. In 9+ hours, Spirit couldn't get their stuff together even leave close to on time the next morning. Tried to resolve with customer service. No response from Spirit's CEO, and Spirit's customer service agent was useless. Do not fly this airline! They do not deserve you! During the process of dealing with customer service, I had booked a flight with Spirit in September for which I asked them to cancel and refund. Even with all the issues, they would only provide a credit for the flight and charged a $69 cancellation fee. I advised them to donate my credit to charity. I will not fly Spirit again. I advise you to reconsider Spirit in favour of an Airline that will treat you with respect. What a disgusting experience both with the flight and the very poor customer service.

I have flown and had issues. My brother flew a couple months ago, 3 hours late. In the last 3 months, EVERY flight my family has taken - with an infant in tow, they have either delayed the flight by hours, or completely canceled them.
Flight 1131 is currently sitting in Orlando - and already 2 1/2 hours LATE just LEAVING the airport. This after yesterday's fiasco of an hour on the tarmac and ultimate cancellation of the flight yesterday. Again, we had an infant who is being cared for by my 68 year sister.
Citizens pay hard earned money for in kind goods and services. The inconvenience and lack of communication is just not worth it. In my opinion, this airlines is a disaster waiting to happen at 34,000 feet. We won't be using them in the future.
Just got word, today's flight is just taking off - an hour late.

Still here
June 12, 2023

I wish there was a way to give negative scores. Last mos I had a Spirit flight back home which is Orlando the turbulence was terrible and actually promised God if I got home safely would stop doing some things. We got there early which was great and started to get ready to land but suddenly felt a pull up movement and the pilot announces he misses the runway!Today I am still at the airport since I left my old job I only make 13 an hour so i booked the flight and hotel together and am making payments. The flight was supposed to board at 9pm it is now 11:13 was here early 3 hours in fact. At 8:47pm received a message that said the flight was delayed an hour a few mins later one that said it would 30 more mins. So at around and 930 the customer service agent announced that the flight had no crew and was on their way and would be shortly, well guess what there still isn't a crew called Priceline and they said they cannot do anything for me so now I have no idea when I will get there and have to pay 43.90 for the next 11 mos

Spirit's website is in line with their service - unreliable, terrible and anxiety inducing. You are unable to sign into the website half the time because there's some error when you're booking. The workflow breaks with no warning causing you to lose that booking.

As a respite, you can book through flights.google.com directly but would you want to put your money with an airline company that has no support when something goes wrong? Their fee for one check-in bag is $90 and carry-on is $110!

I suggest, paying the extra money and booking somewhere else instead of jeopardizing your entire reservation when an issue arises.

I recently got stranded at MCO Orlando Airport with a connecting flight getting cancled. Cheap filght might be a good thing for some and if all goes well Great. But when something goes wrong dont look to spirt to be able to really do anything. I understand that some things like Dense fog at the final destination is not really in their control but they don't really offer anything to help you get there. They auto rebooked me for a flight 3 days later but what the *** am I supposed to do with that. I had to rebook the next day flight on another airline. I tired to do many options like getting a rental car and drive the rest but MCO did not have any one way rentals avalible I also asked to fly to another Airport closer to my destination so it would be a shorter drive but nothing was coming of it. They don't offer to cover a hotel for the night either you are just on your own left stranded.

Horrible.

Made me pay another $80 for a miniature carry on because I also had a purse. Additionally, the bag check lady was very rude and unhelpful when I was trying to be nice and needed assistance.

Personal item was charged even though it was the dimensions of 18x14x8. The charged me 84 dollars for a small bag that I measure with a ruler before I brought it to the airport. Their boxes are shaped smaller so your bag wont fit in there on purpose, so that way they can charge you for a bag that should fit, which is absolute fraud. Poor disability aid as well. They saw I had a cane but didnt bother to help me put my bag in the overhead bin even though I could have fitted it in my seat. Was also completely ignored on the flight. Boarded last even though I have mobility issues. Didnt ask if I needed or wanted anything during the flight and was just completely ignored. Will NEVER fly with spirit again. Ruined my trip completely. I'm sure they will charge me for my correctly sized personal item once again. Always bring the smallest bag you have because if you have a small purse they will charge your bag. No one should have to cry on their flight they should be excited to go somewhere and get the help they deserve. You wont get that at this airline. Delta and American Airlines are so much better dont waste your time being miserable spending high and hidden fees for bs you shouldnt of been charged for in the first place. Oh the best part is you'll get absolutley no refund for anything. They only care about stealing money from you especially when you're vulnerable, like myself. STAY AWAY! WILL BE REPORTING TO THE FAA!

Worse airline ever!
May 22, 2022

We had no choice but to book a flight on spirit airline from Florida. When we got to the airport qe were informed that our plane was canceled. I had checked the fight before we went to the airport and there was nothing stating that thw flight was canceled. We had given up the hotel room we were staying in and also our rental car. When asked if the airline was going to help us get a room, we were told no it was up to us to find a room. Of course there we no hotels with rooms available. We tied to for 2 hours to get a room and finally we found one and it was 200.00 for us to get for not even 24 hr stay. When we got up the next morning to take our flight we were informed that it was delayed for 2 hours. Do again we Wait. Finally we get on the flight and fly back to Chicago to only be delayed again. Spirt airlines lost everyone luggage. The had no idea where our luggage was or if and when we would get them. We waited for 2 and an half hours at the luggage claim before we got out luggage. So I say from now on I don't care how much money I have to pay for another airline I'm going to do it. THAT WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME ON SPIRT. WILL NEVER FLY THEM AGAI

Great value!
May 16, 2022

I recently flew spirit for the first time and I have to say for the price I paid the flight experience was not bad at all. Seats are uncomfortable. But as long as you know you are getting the best possible price and you know you can't expect high commodities I highly recommend then.

Lowest Price
May 14, 2022

I really enjoy Spirit Air, I see not so good comments here, but you have to be conscious that in order to have the lowest fares out there there has to be a way for an airline to generate profit through add-ons. I think it is a great fun airline if you are a solo traveler, flying with no bags or really requirements as far as seating arrangements. If you are traveling with family, yes the cost adds on, but at the end you end up paying a bit lower than with other airlines. I really love the fact that their website is so easy to navigate and it is not overwhelming.

We should start a petition against these guys because they are just about criminal and they are acting like they're not...

Spirit Airlines... Worst. Experience. Ever.
Flight #1 - canceled, we automatically rebooked you for a 6 hour layover... congratulations.
Me: FML ‍ "why did I book with these guys...".
Flight #2 - oh your travel credits don't work... sorry.
Me "can you please apply them?"

Them: "no, sorry company policy"

Me: "I have literally $269 of flight vouchers that I can't use because your system didn't register them... you're the only flight for the next 2 days under $1,000 and all the rental cars are sold out, the buses are just as expensive... "

Them: "sorry... company policy"...

Me: "you mean charging for the ticket, then charging for the bag you bring on, the charging for the bag you check, mis-marketing the price and upselling for insurance, picking your seats, and slinging credit cards at customers to "make it affordable" for all the crap that you upsell? Oh and also not honoring the travel credits you issued us?"

Company should be called "suck your spirit"...

It's fine to charge for some upgrades but damn I'm surprised you're not charging for F*ing air...

Never flying spirit airlines ever again. #sucks #blows #worstexperienceever

Spirit airlines is where people go who lack common sense and the ability to do simple math, hence their business model of upsell after upsell after upsell.

If you think this is a cheap flight, think again. They will not allow any carry on luggage but ONE BAG 18x14x4. Anything else you have to pay additional $69! It's not worth it. The flight is extremely uncomfortable. They outsourced all of their customer care, so you will be transferred around all over the world from Kenya, Africa, Philiphines, who I could barely understand. NO THANK YOU. Specially if you are flying with 2 different airlines, make sure you check their luggage policies. AK airlines let me carry 1 carry on and my purse, but I couldn't bring it back, so I couldn't take my carry on back period. DONT FLY WITH SPIRIT.
