Site says "free shipping". Once it comes to Canada, you get charged an extra $11. Lame. $50 total for a phone case is insanity...

Ordered some cushions
January 2, 2014

Ordered some cushions - great quality, lovely prints, exactly as described. Postage was within the time frame specified, plus it was over the Christmas & new year period when you would expect a slight delay.
I was hesitant to buy from society6 because there are so many average reviews online - but I absolutely love them :)

I have ordered from Society6 and both times were very different experiences. I ordered pillowcases which came when I expected them to and were the quality I expected. Good so far. I also ordered prints. Please note that the size of the print reflects the size of the paper and not what's actually printed on it, so you're paying extra for the white space around your print. You can see the actual size of your print when it's in your cart.

And then I ordered two t-shirts early in December. I received a shipping notification two weeks before Christmas; they still arrived three days AFTER Christmas. The women's large was sized more like a medium - too small! The quality of the print on one of the t-shirts was terrible: blurry, colors misaligned; too low on the shirt. The material of the shirts feels thin and cheap. Overall, I was very disappointed. The website has no return policy except for defective items: I'm not sure if that counts.

I would not recommend this website at all. It took over one month to receive a T shirt order. When I finally got the order, the T shirts were of very poor quality. The images are off center and too low. For $22 a shirt, I expect something better. I now have to fight for a refund. A total waste of my time. I will never use this site again.

Like many users on this site, I found Society6 to have absoutely beautiful product, but poor customer service standards. The first red flag was the shady way in which the site operates: when I clicked on "Review my order", it sent the order through and popped up with "Thank you for your order". Secondly, I "placed" my order (two t-shirts) on November 28th, but they didn't arrive at my local post office until December 23rd. In addition, I had to pay approximately $26 in shipping costs. (It wasn't until after I had placed my order that the company mentioned "Shipping rates may apply".) I don't mind that there is no tracking, and I don't even mind that I was charged shipping costs- that is typical when ordering American products. What I DO mind is the shady way the company operated from the beginning. It's too bad, because I actually LOVE the two t shirts I received, and there are so many beautiful things on the site. But as a matter of principle, I will not be supporting Society6, and will warn my friends/family about the company.

Disappointed
December 22, 2013

Disappointed. Ordered iPhone case and it arrived crushed and broken in the mail. Poor packaging and probably poor handling by the USPS. No one at Society6 is responding to my e-mails and there is no customer service number to call. I know it is a busy time of year but I'm disappointed with lack of customer service. I find the lack of a number to call very strange.

Ordered 3 iPhone4 cases 3 weeks ago. Arrived today in Canada, in very good shape with secure packaging. Cases were superb. I don't know what all the whining is all about with all the neg reviews listed here. What's the fuss people? Spoiled brats, are you? No tracking -- so what? Slow e-mail responses -- so what? In the end, these guys delivered to me, and I am one satisfied customer. Will buy again... and again...
Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, Happy Hanukkah, etc. etc. Etc.
Chill out, people!

I placed an order on Dec
December 19, 2013

I placed an order on Dec. 7th, and via email was told it should be shipped within 5 days. Took 7 days to get the shipping notification. Once shipped I felt a little more at ease, except that I was not getting any tracking information about it's shipping process. Not sure if the "full tracking" part of the website is working correctly, but have received my item on 12/18. Packaging was great, and the print was good quality. I wish the frame was real wood, but hopefully it holds up.

Just so people know, if they advertise "free international shipping", it's most likely a lie. Sure, they say that "international shipping charges DO NOT INCLUDE any applicable import taxes, customs duties and fees that are due upon entry into the destination country"... But I've been charged $10 of mysterious "extra service fees" by DHL Global Mail, and this was on a $30 order to Canada. There was no duty, si it's not that at all. Just "service fees" by THEIR postal service. Free shipping... yeah, right. They just ask you to pay it upon delivery.

Shipping error on their end, not mine (continental US - NOT international). Very poor customer service, not responding to emails/Facebook messages or returning phone calls. LOVE the artists, hate this site... find another option.

Do not use!
December 16, 2013

Do not use! 15 days and counting... for an iphone case. Tracking # starts and dies on the first day... I sent and email to them and was told my address must be wrong. Hmm, seems I don't know where I live. They seem to like using that one. Wish I would have seen this earlier. Too bad for me. Worse for the person I was giving the gift to.

If I could give negative 5 stars, I would.

I ordered about $100 worth of prints from them on November 16th. On 11/19, I got a notification that my items had shipped, and that a tracking # would be available the next day. That never happened. I sent an inquiry to them on 11/22, and was told by "Janie" that I should wait 20 days before contacting them.

After 2 weeks and no art, I asked a series of questions and was given the same string of non-answers and excuses. Finally, last week, they said that it must have been lost and they would send a replacement. Fast forward a week, and nothing.

I send an inquiry, and get back a "sorry, we're busy with the holiday rush" canned response and am told again by "Janie" that my order will be "slightly delayed". A month is not a "slight delay".

Avoid at all costs.

Followup: I finally gave up and created a dispute with Paypal, especially after reading that others have had to wait for multiple months to get what they'd paid for.

Like the reviewer below, I was excited about society6 but became very apprehensive upon seeing all the negative comments. I decided to take the chance and order anyway -- one item under $20 -- and am glad to say that the entire process was smooth.

I used a holiday discount ($5 off and free shipping) provided through the original artist, which was processed without any problem, and received a proper confirmation e-mail as soon as the order was submitted. I also received an e-mail two days later when the order was shipped, and I was able to track the shipment right through delivery. I placed my order with standard domestic shipping on December 8 and received it on December 14. The product itself is quite nice, too, certainly worth the price.

Perhaps others have encountered issues with international or larger/more complicated orders, but my order was completed without a hitch.

When I found Society6, I was blown away at the quality of artwork featured on the site. It satisfied my desire for awesome, unique, original artwork at an inexpensive price.

When I had picked out several pieces of artwork, I did some research on the authenticity of the site for security purposes while ordering online. I came across almost exclusively negative reviews, and was very hesitant to actually proceed with the purchase.

After getting some encouraging feedback from their Facebook page, I decided the product was worth the risk, and ordered 2 screen prints for Christmas presents.

I have to say, not only did the prints arrive at my doorstep within a week (without additional shipping charges), I was able to track the shipment through every stage of the process. The best part-- These pictures are AMAZING! Wonderful quality, exquisitely done, and I am so happy to give them to my family in a few weeks.

I needed to share my awesome experience with Society6 in case anyone was worried having read these reviews. I will definitely be ordering from Society6 again and most likely often. I have already recommended it to multiple friends of mine and will continue to do so!

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE OR COUNT ON THIS WEBSITE, Society6, FOR ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE, OR COOPERATION. I lost two huge NYC orders due to their lack of communication, inefficiency in shipping and do not care attitude. What kind of company can afford to let a 250 tote bag order slip through manufacturing fingers I will never know. I am absolutely disgusted and furious at the same time. They made me look bad. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING.

Worst company ever
November 21, 2013

Worst company ever.

Had I been kidnapped by Taliban terrorists, I would assume that I would still have been treated better than when dealing with Society 6. Furthermore, at least I could expect some form of organization.

After my order did not turn up for 5 weeks, I contacted Society 6, twice, to no avail. When I informed them I was seeking charge-back from my credit card company, that email was responded to within hours, telling me I needed to wait at least EIGHT WEEKS for delivery, before they would pursue any missing parcels. I guess they must of been hand delivering the canvas in a rowing boat, with one man rowing from USA to HK, otherwise 8 weeks for postage in this day and age is quite unreasonable.

Low and behold, after 8 weeks they contacted me to say my parcel could not be delivered as my address did not exist. Strange that, considering I live here and all my bills and other post magically manage to find me with the same courier! I provided them with my work address, and they said they would send again. 5 days later, the status of my canvas was "in production" once again. After 2 more emails, they finally got their s**t together and sent it out again.

5 weeks later, I receive a parcel notification in my home address. My canvas finally arrived, to the original address that "did not exist". Whilst they had changed the delivery address on the receipt(the one inside the box), all the other addresses remained the same.

Overall, 13 weeks to receive a parcel is dog crap, compounded by the slow, cut&paste responses that didn't answer any questions I had.

There were many canvases I wanted from this site, but sadly I am unwilling to risk shopping with them again. Use at your own peril.

Like so many other customers, I got scammed on their "free shipping". I've been charged a COD fee which Canada Post states

Collect on Delivery is a service by which an amount due to the sender is collected by Canada Post upon delivery, on behalf of the sender. The amount and method of collection must be specified by the sender.

Seems like the sender (aka Society6) is charging me shipping.

There are a lot of complaints here about unexpected customs/duty/tax charges when the package arrives. That is not the fault of Society6 - it's your own government that charges you customs/duty/tax! Society6 has no control over that.

I live in Canada and do a lot of online international shopping.

I placed an order paying with paypal for the first time I wanted to buy a pillow case of my own artwork to see how their quality was. The site did not ask me for an address when I checked out through paypal and it defaulted to an address that wasn't even mine. It said I would be able to review my order before I had to purchase it but it didn't pull up that page and the transaction went through without letting me review the info. It sent me an email and that's when I found out the address it had defaulted to wasn't even mine or one that was ever stored in my paypal account. I emailed them waited 3 days no response so I went through paypal and opened a dispute and was immediately refunded initially I contacted them to correct the address but they never responded so I thought filing a dispute would make them respond faster since they obviously didn't reply to the email yet. After I was refunded I replaced the order and it was declined and automatically refunded I was sent a generic response stating they couldn't offer a reason why for security purposes and to replace my order but there was no guarntee it'd go through. I replaced it again using another debit card and was sent the same message. Their site is poorly designed and there customer service is terrible. Its basically like their support responses are copy and pasted and sent to you and you're transaction isn't even being reviewed by an actual person. I'm very displeased and will probably remove my artwork from the account and find another place to use I'm sure there has to be other sites for this type of stuff. You can't decline peoples chargers and not even give a reason or a fix its a waste of everyone's time and frankly that alone makes me not even want to use their site again.

I'm not impressed with Society 6 and would not recommend them

I will start off by stating Society 6 did reimburse me when I canceled my order

I cancelled my order 3 and a half months AFTER my initial order (my order/payment initiated July 15 2013)

It was stated that it could take up to 5 weeks to reach me... i'm patient, I waited.

I never received my order, there was no way to track it (even though their website boldly claims they ship to Canada) and after my initial complaint September 11th (via their online message form - there is no way to contact them via phone), they asked me to reconfirm my address, and said they re-sent it - and again stated it could take 5 weeks.

October 29th, I contacted them again as the print i ordered still hadn't arrived.

I did some online searching of Society 6 and found this site with other upset customers... the only good reviews I found about them was from artists who ordered their own art prints to check on the quality control - seems they had no problem receiving their orders... interesting. I decided I didn't trust Society 6 to get the package to me.

15 weeks after my initial order I contacted Society 6 via their online form - asking them to cancel my order and reimburse me

They promptly refunded my purchase

I will admit - I didn't expect them to respond so quickly.

I did expect to at least receive an email apologizing - but all I got was a form letter stating my order was canceled and refunded.

Again, I'm not impressed with Society 6 and would not recommend them
