I'll never rent from Sixt again! We showed up in Hawaii to get our vehicles to be told that one had been in a wreck. They tried to offer us replacements that wouldn't hold the amount of people and luggage that we had! So we had to fork over another $750 and were assured by the customer service rep that we should get that money back. Not so! Not only did Sixt keep the $750 extra, they charged us another $500-$600 after we got home! I'm beyond disgusted with this company. I will NEVER rent from them again, and I discourage anyone else from being duped by them as well!
Pablo gave great customer service! So nice to be greeted with a nice smile & friendly conversation!
Loved the car! Great experience, no problems!
I rented a car from Sixt in late 2020 in Maui Hawaii. I had the car for one week and had a great experience. I went on to rent from them two more times while I was there. Three months after I rented the first car I received a bill from Sixt for damages to the vehicle I rented in 2020. The bill was for $555.25. I called them explaining that they had the wrong person. I also asked them if there was damage to the vehicle why did it take three months to get back to me? They never answer the question but they did send me pictures of the damages. The pictures they sent weren't even of the correct model of the vehicle that I rented. I pointed that out to them but they still insist that I owe them the money so they have turned me over to a collection agency. I am going to continue to fight this.
They have also said that I damaged the second and third vehicles that I rented from them. The third vehicle I barely drove anywhere. So I strongly urge you do not rent from these people and to tell all your friends what kind of company they are. They are a dishonest, greedy company that will definitely take advantage of you. DON'T RENT FROM SIXT.
This car rental company is a scam. They rent out damaged cars and then claim that you damaged it more. They then take your money but don't actually fix the damages. Do not rent from them!
This company just flat sucks, cancelled my reservation and they refuse to give a refund because my flight was delayed. They also stole my sunglasses out of returned car. Just a $#*!ty company, stay clear of this dumpster fire!
They charged me 4,298.29 for a rental that was not mine. I thought this would be an easy and quick reversal of charges and that's it. No way! Almost a month later and still NO EXPLANTION AND NO REFUND! Remember, this WAS NOT MY RENAL. I even has an affidavit from the renter stating this was his rental and still, No reversal. They do not respond, they are thieves and should be banned from conducting biz. STAY AWAY EVERYONE. They are absolutely they worst! They ruined my accounts and stole from me!
I had a reservation which I pre paid to save a whopping $60 or so, and I cancelled shortly after making the booking due to unforeseen circumstances and they charged me nearly half of what my rental would've cost, saying they keep the cost for the first 3 days of the rental and return the remaining balance to me. This was unacceptable to me so I took it up with my credit card agency and they found the dispute valid and refunded the rest of my payment to me. After which sixt sent me an email with the invoice saying I cannot rent another vehicle with them until this balance is paid! After going on their site I see that reservations in which you pay at pickup can be cancelled for FREE! Tell me how is it that when I prepay they find it acceptable to keep my funds, but not if I pay at the desk, it's no worries!? I also cancelled several days in advance of the reservation pickup, and only like 48 hours after making the initial reservation.
I wish l could give them -100 stars because one star is too good for them. I will never rent a vehicle with Sixt ever! I had car trouble on my way to Atlanta, in one of their vehicles. The vehicle was shaking, so we were driving at low speeds because we did not feel safe. I call Sixt Indianapolis Airport where l had rented the car and Rochelle said she could not help me and l needed to call customer service. Customer service said that was fine l could go and exchange a vehicle at another Sixt once l got to Atlanta. Easy right, NO, Sixt Indianapolis then called me threatening to charge me a drop off fee of $900 if l did not return the car to Indianapolis. I told them the customer service they had told me to call was glad to change the vehicle and ensure our safety. Sheila/Alice/Stella whatever her name was then told me that Sixt is franchised meaning they operate as individual companies versus a national company. Therefore that car was owned by the Indianapolis Airport Sixt and needed to return there because they would have to find someone to go to Atlanta to pick it up. I asked her why then l was told to call customer service and that so l was required to drive an unsafe car back to Indy, she said yes. She added her boss had drove the car before and it was fine, okay? So what does that have to do with our current problem? IF SIXT IS NOT ONE COMPANY AND THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT FRANCHISES THEN WHY NOT HAVE DIFFERENT NAMES. This was my first time renting with Sixt and DEFINATELY! THE LAST. They taught me a hard lesson JUST STICK TO REPUTABLE car rental places like Budget, Avis, National, Hertz, Enterprise that have been in business forever, they have realized that customer service is important to grow a business a concept Sixt has obviously not mastered. I guess that explains why when l picked up the car, Sixt counter was empty with one or two people yet they were long lines by Avis and Budget. I guess those people learnt a lesson as well before me! AND I REPEAT NEVER! AGAIN! And did l mention they called me twice a day before my rental to find out if l was coming to pick up my PREPAID car! Ridiculous...
I have rented from Sixt a few times and after this last one, that will be my last forever. In concept they are great and have never and nicer cars to choose from. In practicality, I've been charged for damage I didn't commit by them, I've been billed for a rental "reservation" which I cancelled less than 24 hours after making due to a positive COVID exposure, they've duplicate charged me, they charged me for fuel when I have a receipt which proves I filled the tank, and then to top it all off, then I turned unauthorized charges by them into my AMEX as fraud, they turned around and hounded me and even turned me into collections for these bogus charges. Run, run far far away. Rent with Turo, Budget, National, Enterprise, Avis, Hertz, hell anyone else, just don't rent from Sixt.
The fine print indicates you pre pay for rental, whether you use it or not. Also, they double charges on you if you cancel anytime after booking reservation made. There is zero grace period. I reserved a car and about six hours later tried to cancel it and found out all of this crap. This is shady as hell. They consider rentals a "good" and not service. Not good. Stay away. Cancel card you used to make reservation and get new one issued. Don't trust this site.
Never again, nor should you, rent from these people. They rented me a car that had undercarriage damage and had me pay for those damages. I repeat, never again will I nor should you rent from these people.
They were the only company that had any vehicles for rent, so I was forced to use them at the airport. I will not use them again. I've now been mailed a damage/accident letter, which makes no sense. I returned the car in the same condition it was in when I took it out of the lot 2. Are they not supposed to inform you of damage when you return the vehicle if they find it? I don't understand why I am receiving a letter 3 week later stating the vehicle had damage.
I recently rented a SUV in Minnesota and I extended it for an extra 3days. I received a ineligible invoice typed over. I contacted the company about this matter no one have responded as of yet. You can't call the company regarding this problem because there's no one there just a recording. I spent at least a 1000. 00 including my deposit. I will not use this rental car company again.
If I could give this crappy company less stars I would. They are the worst I've ever seen in my life. I paid with my credit card for a 2021 Chrysler 300 that they didn't have and then they charged me an extra 100 dollars for a 2008 Buick lacrosse that they claimed was an upgrade, and then charged my account for a 500 dollar deposit. And when I gave them back the car on time and cleaned they kept 300 dollars of the deposit and nothing was wrong with the car. This company needs to be banned asap, especially the one in Philadelphia
I did what the majority of people do. Went to a rental car website and chose what i wanted. When the confirmation came back one day sooner than i will arrive, and i simply wanted to inform them so i can be sure the car will be there. I would still pay for it, i just want to know it will be there so i can get to my destination on time. I have spent 6 hours trying in anyway to do this to no avail. Their automated phone keeps me on for multiple questions and when i finally get there, it simply hangs up. Three days now. Finally got to my spot to modify the date and the price surges. I just want to pick it up a day later to know its there. Sixth absolutely stinks... run as far away as you can...
I rented a car and was offered an upgrade and passed on the offer. I was billed for the upgrade even though I did not take the SUV. I was told no additional charges to my full paid on the Sixt website booking and all other charges would be removed. The deposit was removed but not the upgrade error. I immediately emailed customer service of the error and recieved no response. 30 days later I disputed the charge on my credit card. Guess what I got notified I can no longer rent from Sixt. Wow you think I care. To improve things now 60 days after the rental they are emailing me harrasing me.
Have fun with your next rental.
The site ask for proof of the situation but I do not wish to publish my receipt.
We rented a vehicle for a week after we returned the vehicle our cc was charged with an extra $90+ dollars and a doble charge of $110. We called the customer service with no respond. Then we dispute the charges with our cc and they charged the cc again. At the end a rental that should be no more than $390 en up in almost $700
Keep an eye on this unprofessional company they are out there to still your money
They are trying to charge me for a rim that got scrapped. This is the drivers side rim. The rim, if scrapped was not by me. I rented this car and was out in the countryside. There are no curbs out there. This is insurance fraud and will be reported to the insurance board. Minus 5 is what I would like to give them.
I rented a car from Sixt, unknowingly because I went on Priceline, on October 27,2020. I drove off the lot with wax circle on my vehicle, there wasn't anyone checking out the vehicle like the big companies, because there were wax circle I assumed the damage was previously noted. I parked the car for 3 of the nights at a friends house and we drove her car, so the vehicle was barely driven. A few weeks later I get a damage claim, I spoke with someone and he said he took care of it. NOT, on 11/27/20 I received another damage letter, I am quite upset, because I didn't damage the vehicle, if I did I would have reported it. And secondly they didn't take care of it like they said. Never Use Sixt. I now see other false damage complaints.
I booked online and paid in advance. Then I showed up at the appointed hour in Lisbon and even with my receipt in hand, they "could not find it" on their system. With four of us standing there, I thought I would rent and pay for a car and get relief from my credit card company (Collabria, another one-star useless company) and no dice. I am out $400 and I URGE all of you contemplating a rental from this company? They will ruin your holiday, don't do it!
Answer: They don't hire enough customer service staff. After an unhappy rental with them I started reading reviews and found nothing good, Never again.
Answer: Don't have one! Success story doesn't exist. The only success was on their end screwing me out of $300... duh
Answer: No cars available in Vegas. It's crazy. My dad wanted to go but no cars. Learn a lesson, only go to reputable rental agencies
Answer: Impossible. I waited on hold for 3 hours only to be told that they would not do anything to address my request. There are plenty of car rental companies. Pick another one,
