Brilliant being able to send stuff home. The process was extremely easy! Of cause when your doing all the paperwork it's a daunting but remember that's the customs requirement.
I laminated the paperwork and stuck it on the case so a bit of prep is required.
I couldn't believe it was picked up on time and delivered early! I was kept informed all the time. Everything thing was perfect.

Envoyer une valise aux USA à été très simple. Le prix est correct. Un transporteur récupère la valise à domicile et livre à domicile. Le suivi via le site est clair et permet de connaître la position exacte de la valise pendant la durée de l'envoi.

Good service and really good value

I looked at the cost of sending a suitcase by courier or Royal Mail, and it seemed to be 50-100% higher than the SendMyBag charge. Arranging delivery was quick and easy, and it was great that I didn't have to put my suitcase in a box or whatever. Delivery was quicker than advertised - I paid for standard delivery (estimated 3 days) but I'm sure it was delivered the next day.

1. Was not told I needed to be present in the country where I was sending the bag
2. Customer service is shocking. They can't provide any information other than sending you to talk to DHL (not easy to do). They provide 0 extra service - so just send your stuff with DHL in the first place.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I am sorry to hear you are disappointed with the service.

We provide services to hundreds of destinations worldwide via thousands of routes, on some routes Send My Bag's customs team can do everything on the customer's behalf, on other routes the destination requires direct involvement from the customer.

We make every effort to be upfront about any customer requirements and Canada is clearly flagged as a 'self clearance' destination.

When sending UK > Canada, this alert shows at every stage of the order: "By continuing you agree you have read and understood the self-clearance customs information on our Canada information page. This route is not suitable for holiday baggage and you may be required to personally visit a customs office to complete clearance.". This alert must also be ticked as acknowledged before an order can be placed.

The alert in turn links to this page which provides more detailed information on the customs requirements based on your personal circumstances: "https://www.sendmybag.com/baggage-shipping-destinations/canada?min=1&from=GB"

Further alerts regarding the customer's need to engage directly with customs (via the delivery courier) in Canada also appear in other places during the booking process.

We live in France and had came back from a trip to our 1st son in the US, returning with a number of clothes their daughters could no longer use. The girls had grown up! We had no immediate plans to visit our 3rd son in the UK who also had 2 daughters who were the obvious potential recipients for these clothes.
We had already used "SendMyBag" with good results and got in touch with them again.
We went through the formalities and they arrived on time we agreed to pick up the box of clothes.
This was subsequently delivered on time and intact to our son in UK.
We were again very pleased with the services offered by SendMyBag and expect to use their services again very shortly!

Don't do it!

I was recommended Send My Bag by my parents who had used them previously. We sent our five bags ahead of us to Edinburgh as we were moving back from the States and wanted to travel light as we have a three year old. Two of the bags turned up two days later that the estimated date, I had to call them daily about the other three bags. Eventually one bag showed up a month later, dumped outside the wrong address, luckily my dad spotted it. We are still missing the other two bags and it is two months later. They keep saying they found them, then lost them. It cost us $900 and It is a complete shambles, DON'T BOTHER.

Sending our luggage in advance of our trip was definitely a plus. No lost bags caught in the airline shuffle. Our bags were waiting for us at our hotel and Sendmybags excellent app kept informed of the journey. Again - no stress. Do yourself a favor and use this excellent service?
