Absolutely horrible experience. The SendMyBag website has very misleading language at the time of purchase. Specifically, it states that it is not necessary to itemise parcel contents for customs. Given that my box was packed six years ago, prior to my international move, I only had a general idea of what was in the box (ie, old books, clothes, and shoes). However, after I completed my packing list (old books, shoes, and clothing), SendMyBox personnel told me I was obliged to provide more detail. I told them I couldn't, and would the please issue a refund. This was within TWO HOURS of my initial purchase. I asked kindly for the refund via email and explained that I had believed, per their website, that a general description would be suitable and a detailed itemisation would not be required. (Prior to purchase the website states the following " Customs... you do not need to list everything..." and it gives "books, baby clothes, and kitchen utensils" as an example of a description suitable for customs.) I then called customer service and read the language on their site to them and explained that the pre-purchase instructions were inaccurate and that I never would have made the purchase had I known I would be required to itemise. Nevertheless, they refused the refund. I went round in circles in email and on the phone, and finally, they agreed to 85% -- retaining well over 30 euros for an order that had been placed only two hours earlier and booked for nine days out. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
The Send My Bag staff is very friendly and helpful. I had to change my delivery date. Did it with ease through Messenger chat. Amazing service.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY
I have used Send my Bag on 3 occasions, the second time the box arrived extremely damaged and split open on the side as if a baggage truck had driven over it.
The third occasion just sent 2 weeks ago, I paid to send from UK to USA and was quoted 3 to 4 days, it took 7 days!
I had to wait in for 3 days for the collection, the first day the driver called extremely early before the scheduled time slot and did not ring my phone number or leaving a calling card, so I had waited in all day for nothing. The second day no one arrived at all. It was collected in the afternoon on the third day.
Contacted customer service twice and all they offered was a £20 refund, the reason being
Our Terms of Service state that collection may not take place on the requested date.
I had asked for a refund of 40% of the value paid. Hence I will not be suing this company again.
Bags picked up stateside and delivered Belfast, Ireland without a hitch. Reliable and priced fair compared to other services. Will definitely use again. Minor issue is time of pick up could be narrowed to a shorter time block. The pick up window is the whole day which is somewhat inconvenient although website is clear that bags may be left outside for collection.
I send a care package to my children and grandchildren in Australia and find the service so speedy, and so reliable. The tracking is amazing. It's a great service.
I booked online they arrived to collect the bag the next day and it was in the destination the next day. Easy!
Had to return some over sized items from the states. Very competitive price easy to follow instructions tracking was amazing and items arrived safely on the day they were meant to.
As always they spell out the process and they overdeliver. Much simpler than dragging luggage through airports!
The website is easy to navigate, with lots of useful information. Once you book the service, you are guided step by step through the process. The pick up and drop off were easy and according to schedule. The app lets you know what stage of the process you are in. Once the bag was picked up I was able to track it.
Sent a box to my daughter and arrived really quickly easy to fill in online forms etc
I have used these services quite a few times back-and-forth between the US, UK and Spain. Each time it has been quite easy and the tracking is really terrific. In fact, it has always come a day early! I'm really impressed by this company and how they can be so efficient in moving so many packages around the globe.
The service worked out perfectly. The instructions are a lot, so be sure you read them properly. You have to choose a day for the pickup where you'll be home the whole day because they will come at any moment.
Moving my luggage from Spain to Australia is huge positive surprise Finally something was done from beginning to the end without hiccups or nasty surprises or extra charge the fact that they picking up from your house organising custom clearance in both countries and delivering to house in Australia makes me so happy and I keep this company details on my file for the future reference
I expected it to cost significantly more to reunite me with my bag from london to rural Cumbria. It was good value and excellent service - the website was mostly east to navigate.
From pick up to final destination drop off the whole process seemed well organised and with excellent tracking I knew where the bags were the whole time. Delivery earlier than anticipated.
Would not recommend - if I had my chance over, I would have gone directly through DHL. I used Send My Bag in December to move six boxes from London to Barcelona. My box collection was missed two days in a row. It had serious consequences for me, meaning that I had to spend 23 hours in total over three days waiting in my empty apartment for collection, going out of my mind with anxiety. These were some of my final days in the city, and I missed a bunch of my plans, including leaving drinks and an award night at work. Staff consistently assured me the mistake wouldn't happen again, but it did. Nothing was done to ensure the boxes were collected on the second day, staff were almost all very rude and insensitive to the distress I was in. The boxes finally got to their destination late, causing me more problems. For all this, I was offered a 15% refund - a joke. I am sure many people have a good experience with this company, but what I can say is that if anything goes wrong, they are unwilling and unable to guarantee they sort the problem out and compensate for the impact on customers. I had far more help from DHL, who Send My Bag contract to do the pickup. Better to just pay a bit more and go with a more professional outfit like DHL.
This was my second time using the service, the process was smooth, and the bag arrived on time.

Answer: Scam, additional charges added, no explanation and letters of demand following, this is not an ethical business.
Answer: Avoid sendmybag if you can Would give a negative rating if I could. Had 2 bags delivered, they lost one and damaged the other. On top of that are now refusing to process a claim. I have read other reviews to know they do this on a regular basis. Companies like this shouldn't be allowed to operate. 0 marks for doing there job and a definite negative on customer support.
