Please notice if you are booking through the actual hotel of this reservations.com crap, I thought it was booking on the actual hotel and not I am charged in US dollars and paying way more that I would if I booked direct at the hotel. It is also non refundable so you can't get your money back even if you try to cancel a month in advance. I was in a hurry when I was trying to book and made a very pricy mistake
My experience is the same as others listed here. Reservations.com came up top of google search and I though they were the actual hotel. Of course they weren't, didn't reveal the real price until after I checked out, fully 50% higher than I anticipated. Five minutes later I called (cant cancel online of course, that would be too easy) I got a promise of a refund in 7-9 days, the delay because of my bank of course. And out the $20.00 processing fee on which they live. Now I will be even more careful checking every single link I get relative to hotels. Why google allows them to come up first and game the system is beyond me.
Absolutely garbage. Avoid this service at all costs. Do not use them.
I was placed in a very seedy and shady hotel owned by Hilton. It was ghetto and I was not going to allow my family to stay there. I specifically asked the agent for a safe and clean hotel. There were abandoned shopping carts in the parking lot, the office was dark, and my wife felt unsafe with the type of people that were clearly using the hotel for possible one-hour services.
Then when I tried to transfer to a different Hilton, the DoubleTree, they refused. I paid for another hotel. I paid twice. They refused to reimburse me.
All agents seemed like they were in a different country. Unsure if Reservations.com is owned by Hilton directly or outsourced as a third party from Hilton. Disgusting representation, agents are miserable and I was placed in a very unsafe hotel for a family. In addition, they used aggressive sales tactics, knew we were in need of a place to stay around midnight after a week in Yosemite. The family was very tired. The agents were like sharks.
I had to pay for two hotel rooms.
Avoid this service at all costs
Your program and service are horrendous and embarrassing. I would be ashamed to be a shareholder of your company. I wish I could give you a negative star rating.
Reservations.com is awful. First they con you into thinking that you are calling the hotel site when in actuality you are not. I guess they have good people ensuring that they come up at the top during Google searches. Nevertheless, my main complaint is that they have unfair practices when it comes to pricing. I booked a room on 6/19/21. They charged me $328 for two nights + $96 for "taxes and fees" + $20 for a service charge... so a total of ~$444. My nephew called less than 24 hrs. Later and booked the the same type room for the same nights. He was charged $328 for two nights + only $47 taxes and fees which were not even added to his subtotal + $20 service fee. I compared both his email receipt and mine. Our total cost differed by almost $100. I called to complain. They said that that was not the case and that the difference in price had to do with the change in inventory that occurred over the course of less than 24 hours. I know this was a lie because I had both receipts as proof (which I include in this review). The truth was that my nephew was not charged "taxes and fees" while I was. When I asked to talk to a manager. I was put on hold for what seemed forever only to be told that a mgr. Was not available. More lies. Needless to say, I cancelled my reservations and disputed the $20 non-refundable service fee with my CC company (who has never failed me yet). Reservations.com is unscrupulous and unethical. Buyer beware!
Made the mistake of using Reservation.Com instead of the usual Booking.Com. Reservation.Com found a place in which the reservation can't be canceled. It wasn't obvious to me that that was the case, in my haste. If a service like Reservation.Com is to have any value, it should show facilities that permit cancellations. Back to Booking.Com for me!
I reserved 2 rooms at $80 a night on reservations.com. When all was said and done their fees basically added another night to my cost. I called customer service and they basically said not our problem and were very rude. They offered absolutely zero assistance. I will never use reservations.com again. I will tell anyone that will listen to me never to use reservations.com. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a reservation site online.
DO NOT USE. They do not disclose their additional fees. They do not really pass on requests to the hotel. They do not guarantee the hotel will honor reservation.com's 'reservations' The Customer service is useless, and slow. The image below shows where they say their web page discloses the fee. LIARS.
Watch the cancellation fee. You will be charged much more than a one night stay if you cancel more than 24 hours in advance. No matter what the reason, they will not work with you for any refund. STAY AWAY FROM RESERVATIONS.COM
If I could I'd give the "0" stars. There customer service is the worst. Tried canceling due to cancer. They hung up on me. Please don't use this company.
Don't use this site to book your reservation! They charge a useless fee of $19.95 on top of the room rate and taxes. If you are making a reservation within 7 days of travel, the reservation is non refundable and they charge your card IMMEDIATELY! I also was not aware that I was using a 3rd party app for my reservation in the first place because I went to the hotel's website (or so I thought) to make it. They are a scam. It's only $20, but it is very maddening to realize you've been duped.
We made reservations with Comfort Inn in Ruidoso, NM. We though we had reached the hotel's website; however, it apparently transferred us to Reservations.com. We entered the hotel and our booking dates and it showed $105.00 per night. We clicked "Reserve" and received an email conformation that our card was charged $399.23 for the hotel and $19.99 for Reservations.com. We immediately telephoned Reservations.com and were told that the reservations were non-refundable.
After inadvertently booking a reservation using their tricky website, I immediately called to cancel. In fact, I had to call several times explaining that this was accidentally done. The first deceptive move was being redirected to their site to make the reservation, then followed by misleading information displayed on the site. I searched online to see what other folks had to say on possible similar issues. Wow, there were many. More specifically, a complaint on the BBB site captured exactly what I had experienced. Since this complaint captured my experience exactly, I'll just copy the complaint into this review. Again, this is EXACTLY what happened - except for the dates and location
"I went to look up a hotel in Baltimore Maryland and was led to believe I was on the hotel's website. I apparently was unknowingly diverted to RESERVATIONS.COM. When i clicked reserve this room, which did not show anything about being "non-refundable" I was directed to a page to enter my info. I proceeded with such but at no point did the term "non-refundable" appear. Even the side section of the screen where it showed charges all that was shown was fine print of " room cancellation policy" which would have to be clicked on to see details. That term in itself is deceiving. A screen popped up saying my credit card was charged and this was non refundable ( which now at that point they post that term) I immediately called (less than 2 minutes) and was told there was nothing they could do. Not only do they make it appear that you are on the hotel's website but they also do not give full disclosure of the details for anyone to easily see. I would like a Full refund and cancellation please. "
And boy there are more folks!
I'll admit I was in a hurry to book a room for a business trip and failed to notice I was not on the hotel's specific site, however, Reservations.com makes it look that way as their website name is the same as the legitimate hotel website with ". reservations.com" added. All that aside, I booked the room and failed to notice their ridiculous fees, again my fault for being in a hurry, and a $143/night room turned into $210/night. I was shocked. I then realized what I had done and checked the real hotel website and found the same room for $146/night total (taxes, fees, etc). So within 5 minutes I cancelled the reservations.com reservation but was still charged their $19.99 booking fee. When I asked for a refund via customer service I got a form letter response. This tells me I'm not the first person to fall victim. Please learn from my $20 mistake.
This is the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I would give them a minus 5. I canceled part of a reservation and after multiple phone calls they refused to refund my money. Do not use this site! I have called multiple times and they hang up on me.
All we talked about was a room with 2 beds and they booked me into a king. When I called to get it fixed they wanted me to cancel my nonrefundable room and rebook AND repay while they did an "investigation ". Or i could pay more for another bed. Total rip off! DO NOT USE THEM!
Scam site. Higher prices than the hotel and non refundable "service" fees.
Try to call them and your on hold for hours.
Do not use Reservations.com. I tried to make a reservation through the hotel but Reservations.com waylaid me 2 times. The second time I did not realize I was on their website. Made my reservation but could not see the total for the reservation. When I go the email confirmation it was almost for about $62 more than the amount on the website. I expected taxes to be added but the total turns out to be almost $40 more than if I had used the company web site for the hotel. Even after paying Reservations $19.95 charges I will save over $20 on my reservation with the hotel. I called immediately upon seeing the charges and waited for 20 min and 31 seconds for someone to answer the call after 31 minutes I've cancelled my reservation and am waiting to hear from a supervisor at Reservations.com. Supposedly they will return my call within 24 hours. Overall I will make every attempt to avoid this company in the future. PS This is the first negative review I have ever written which should give you an idea of how irritated I am with their service.
They advertised a room rate at the hotel I wanted of $122 per night. The four-night total then came to $1,251.11! They had uprated the 2nd-4th nights and added fees including their non-refundable $19.99 service charge, which they kept even though I saw the total on my credit card and canceled minutes after making the reservation. What a rip-off company!
My name is Marc,
I tried to get 2 rooms from holiday inn express in Chambersburg Pennsylvania for one night.
Instead of charging me for one night they charged me for 11 nights. When I saw that within 5 minutes I tried to contact them just to fixe the problem, they refused to do it.
They told me to go to the hotel and when I got there call them from the front desk. I did exactly what they told me still I don't get my money yet.
Worst part of it, I did not even stay at the hotel that night, because I was upset about the situation, they call police on us, me, my 95 year old Mother, my 96 year old father, my wife and myself.
Reservation.com is the worst thing I ever dealt with all my life.
