I'll always go directly through the hotel from now on. I ended up spending an additional $300 using reservations.com. Lesson learned.
Got caught by this site when trying to book through the motel site. Didn't realise I had been diverted away until the confirmation email with the undisclosed charges for their "services and tax recovery charges. Then my credit card got hit with their enormous charges. How can $867.98 be a reasonable charge for basically less than two minutes of work when this site resubmitted my application through Bookings.com??
I'm not disputing the accommodation charges (which I opted to pay later but was charged for immediately at a higher rate) No, I'm annoyed that I've been hit with charges that I basically have no way of recovering. When you read the fine print the company reserves the right to change their mind about their own rules if it's going to affect their profitability. This is not a service, it's a damned syphon and I have no way to recover the money. The final insult was being charged a further $89 international transaction fee to book an Australian hotel IN AUSTRALIA.
Grrrrrr.
Never again.
I actually thought I was completing an online reservation with Hampton, on Hampton's website, to find out after I hit confirm that it was with Reservations.com. Not only did they charge an extra $78.38 after I confirmed the reservation but, I was also charge $8.99 for something I have no idea for what? I have received no receipt for this and when I called, no one could explain it. I have seen in other reviews that the same thing has happened to others as well. This is a bait and switch scam job. They offer an upfront price, you think you are seeing a full bill when you pay just to find out they add after the fact. When you call, all they want to do is break down the charge and offer to send you another receipt. Beware! I will be reporting to the BBB and doing a review anywhere possible. If I could do less than 1 Star I would.
Can't change reservations. Can't cancel reservations without paying 1 nights fee even though prepaid
They broker nasty rooms to unsuspecting people. They affiliate with the lowest rated hotels. They charge an extra 20 fee for nothing. Our hotel was disgusting and they wouldn't refund the money roaches and dirt so nasty. They don't care.
I made a motel reservation through Reservation.com, I had to cancel 3 days later. Beware, they charge 70-100% cancellation fee. They, also, chatted 30% more, for the room than standard price. Horrible company!
We walked in the Best Western at 1221 West State Road 84, Fort Lauderdale, Florida - *******, it was one of our worst experience, the moment you walk in there was an horrible wet carpet smell, we slept one night woke up the next day I was so sick could not stopped coughing and it was hard to breathe and on top of that we found a bed bug omg. They were trying to make things right by giving us another room which were bigger but the smell was even worse, we were so upset, we checked out immediately and got an airbnb. We did our booking through expedia they told we have to call Expedia to get our money back. Long story short we were supposed to stay 6 nights and we stayed 1 and they refund us money back for 5 nights. This is a horrible place to stay.
OMG don't use this website to make reservations, do yourself a favor and stay away. Avoid the worst experience ever. Horrible deceptive business practices.
The advertised price is NOT correct, they will then add all kinds of fees on top of it which was almost double the advertised price. Tried calling and got a message that the site was down and to call back later. I ended up calling Chase Credit Card and disputed the charges on which Chase happily canceled the transaction and credited my card. I hate thieves and that is exactly what Reservation.com are.
Total rip-off! They don't reveal all their (hidden) fees until after they charge your credit card. They also charge non-refundable fees - even when claiminging 'free' cancellation. Shut them down!
I thought I was booking through the hotel because it said reservation service but no it was some scam service that said I was going to get a room for $102 a night and then they tacked on another $38 for recovery fees and now they're charging me another nine dollars for processing this and I am trying to call and talk to somebody and I am getting nowhere. No person is answering any phone calls or emails I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau I have already phone the hotel and there's nothing they can do. It's too late whenever you're making a hotel reservation. Make sure you call the hotel personally and you won't get ripped off like I did.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - NO HELP AT ALL - I HAVE DISPUTED WITH MY CREDIT CARD. THEY ARE AWFUL TO DEAL WITH. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE 2.5 HOUR OF HOLD TIME WITH NO RESOLUTION. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!
Big rip off. I will have to pay "even" more attention to transactions on line. I didn't know I had been moved to reservations.com! Cost me $20 in non-refundable service fees.
I learned about reservations.com because a guest had tried to make a reservation for my Inn which is listed on reservations.com without my, the owner's, permission. He was told there was "no availability." Then he called me on the number listed on my website and found there was plenty of availability. So I called to see if I, the owner, could make a reservation at my Inn. I couldn't. After asking questions about the Inn and questioning the fake picture of the Inn, I was told there is "no availability--all the rooms are full." I asked how they determined that. They said it is "showing on our system." Again, I asked how they got the information because I am the owner of the Inn and there is plenty of availability. I asked why they have my Inn listed. The call center in the Philippines didn't know. I then asked for the address of the company which they said is in Florida because I want the listing of my Inn removed. They refused to give it to me--or a telephone number. They said I must e-mail *******@reservations.com. We will see how that goes. As the owner of an a Bed and Breakfast, I must say "Beware of this company."
Please be aware of the Internet address when you are booking a hotel! We thought we were booking directly at the hotel and ended up booking through Reservations. Com and being charged a $75 dollar booking fee. They refused to cancel our reservation when we called to cancel after ten minutes. The price from Reservations.com is shown with the taxes and fees and then tells you afterwards that they charge over 35 dollars per booking. The listed amount directly purchasing from the hotel is much less expensive.
Please never use this site to book reservations. Call the hotel directly. They charged me 111.89 for TAX?! RIDICULOUS and unnecesssary. Save your money.
I received a written confirmation via email at 12:50 pm on Saturday, March 18,2023 for a room I booked for August 23rd. Looking at the excessive 37.1% in fees and charges as well as no refunds, I immediately called their customer service line *******090) at 12:51 pm and again at 12:53 pm. I find their no refund policy in the confirmation email unacceptable and called within 3 minutes to request a refund and was denied.
On their home page at the very bottom, under "How do I cancel my reservation?"
It states, " … by calling customer service support at *******090." Believe me, by talking to their representative, you cannot get a refund, even 3 minutes later! Buyer Beware!
On Saturday Aug 12th, 2023, we attempted to make a reservation for 3 hotel rooms at an Atlanta airport hotel. We thought we were dealing directly with the hotel, but discovered it was actually Reservations.com. We told the agent that we only needed and would have authorized the reservation IF AND ONLY IF all 3 rooms had been available. The telephone agent erroneously and without authorization, made a reservation for only ONE room, which we did NOT accept or utilize. We attempted multiple times to tell the agent NOT to charge our card or make this reservation, but he did so anyway. Reservations.com has since refused multiple attempts to have a refund issued and we have file a dispute with our CC company.
Their cancellation policy is NOT clear. Cancelled a booking within minutes of making it, thought I'd only be charged $19.99 non refundable, but the ENTIRE amount was charged. Do NOT use this company. I originally thought I was booking on the hotel website, then realized it was not. So cancelled and got a better rate. But Reservations.com is keeping the monies from the original booking. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I had cancelled a room at The Abbey in Lake Geneva direct with the hotel and was told I would be contacted by reservations.com to confirm. No one contacted me, when I contacted them they proceeded to charge cancelation fees. Yet their delay in contact caused the cancelations fees, convenient for them - horrible company, scam services to collect fees.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.

Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
