High fees, stay away from this booking site. They charge your credit card immediately even when your stay is weeks away. They also overcharged under the tax line item.
I to got scammed through making motel reservations on reservations.com. But mostly with charges of service fees. I have to say it was my own fault by not contesting as soon as I received an email with the charges that they had already charged my credit card when I got the email confirmation. I thought I had gone through hotel.com instead of them. Lesson learned NR
Paid for 2 rooms in Tahoe; when arrived, only had reservations for 1 room; had to pay for the other room again and am on my 4th phone call to get reimbursed for the full amount paid! This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced! Stay clear of Reservations.com
On Tuesday May 1,2018 I tried to book a room for 2 nights for 25-27 May at the Residence Inn Marriott Montreal Downtown. I went to what appeared to be the Residence Inn web site but was redirected unknowingly to the reservations.com web site. They advertised the room at the same rate but didn't specify the currency. Assuming that I was dealing directly with the Montreal Residence Inn I thought it was in Canadian dollars. It turned out that reservations.com is a third party reservation site which quoted in US dollars without saying so. I first became suspicious when they didnt accept my CAA card and then immediately charged my credit card USD$532.71. The same room on the Residence Inn web site all taxes included should have cost me CDN$493.85. The actual total cost charged to my VISA for the two nights through reservations.com was CDN$705.23, $211.38 more than I would have paid if I had made the reservation directly through the hotel web site as I was trying to do. When I realized the mistake I called the number on the web site which was answered by someone in the Philippines. I explained my mistake, and tried to cancel the booking. They refused saying their policy was no cancellations, no changes, and no refunds. I then called the Residence Inn Marriott Montreal by phone only to be told that because I had booked through a third party, they could do nothing for me.
RESERVATIONS.COM NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BY AUTHORITIES AND SHUT DOWN!
Each one of us can do our part by contacting senior management of every hotel chain that sells rooms through reservations.com, telling our stories and urging them to forbid reservations.com from selling their hotel rooms.
Reservations.com is stealing money from people under false pretenses. The U. S Attorney General's Office needs to put a stop to this. Honest people think they are calling the hotel site and actually Reservations.com is intercepting the call and you think your speaking directly to the hotel. They charged me 75 dollars more then what the hotel would of charged me. I didn't realize it until I checked in at the hotel and spoke to the employee working the desk. I thought we were dealing directly with the hotel. The hotel gave me their rate and I filed a dispute with my credit card company for the 75 dollars. The credit card company did an investigation and determined that by me giving them my account number I authorized them to bill my account and reservations.com would not budge on this issue. I ended up paying 75 dollars to these bottom feeders.
THIS IS A SCAM - YOU ARE CHARGED DOUBLE THE PRICE THAT THE HOTEL CHARGES AND THEN FIGHT LIKE HELL TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
Do not use this site as Canadians. The booking site does not apprise you if prices in US dollars and the extra reservation fee of 15.00 US until youve already input your info and visa number and expiration date etc. Customer service will not help or let you alter your reservation bylaws I will lose the total amount and the booking fee.
My reservation ended up costing me 40% more then if I had booked with hotels. Cim Expedia or directly with the hotel.
What a disappointment. Never again
I was scammed- thought I was reserving a room through Hyatt (as that is what the button I clicked on my phone said). One minute later I was charged $100 MORE than I was quoted FOR A BOOKING. I immediately called to cancel. I was told by both customer service and Manager Frank (Call Center in Philippines) that they would contact hotel for refund. Today I received an email from the Billing Department saying they make all the decisions- they do not contact the hotel at all and they can't help me as I agree to the cancellation policy. I never saw or agreed to any "cancellation policy." I didn't get the room and I was charged $270. SCAM!
Booked a room at 4 nights at Gold Strike Casino - Robinsville MS. (Previous Customer) Called number on hotel website. Through Reservations.com $347.92. Researched web for other phone #. Called hotel direct 3 nights comped. One night charge $69.00 and they are negotiable on comping that night too. Charged $12.99 for cancellation fee by Reservation.com. Reservation made and cancelled in less than 1 hr. At least I learned something.
I was tricked into booking a room through reservations.com when a popup covered the hotel website I was using. Only when I got the final amount did I realize there was something wrong. It was higher than it was supposed to be so I took a closer look at the booking I had made. I had made it through reservations.com instead of the hotel website I had started out using. I called to cancel the reservation and told them that I had not intended to use their site but had been using the hotel website. They agreed to cancel the reservation but would not return the $15 booking fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor about it and was told that one would call me back within a day. I never heard from them. I did get a credit on my credit card for the amount of the room I canceled but not the booking fee. Now I am concerned about the security of my credit card information.
I was attempting to book at a Hampton Inn, and the first hit APPEARS to be Hampton, but is actually this site, reservations.com. The address reads hamptoninn.com/reservations...
As soon as I got the email, (minutes later) I called the customer service number to cancel. The lady reversed the charges, and I specifically asked if the entire amount would be refunded, if I would incur some charge for "using" their site. She assured me I would be refunded the entire amount. Well, surprise, surprise, I have a $14.99 charge still on my credit card. I feel I was robbed of this amount, and while it is not much for only 1 booking 1 time, imagine how much money they are making for the many others who do not realize it is being stolen straight out of their pockets.
Reservations.com should be ashamed.
These people are horrible! There is no customer service and if possible I too would give them a 0 rating. They booked me in another state across the country from where I asked for me reservation and then they would not refund my money even though the hotel said they would cancel the reservation.
I agree with another customer; I too would give a '0' if that were an option. I wasn't informed that this was a nonrefundable reservation made 8 months in advance and cancelled 12 hours after I made the reservation. When they wouldn't relent on it being a nonrefundable reservation, I asked to have it re-instated which they would not agree to either. TOTAL SCAM UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!
I thought I was making reservation with the Hilton directly on their website. I never get non-refundable hotel reservations! I knew for this particular reservation I would need to adjust dates eventually, so I am 100% certain I purchased a reservation that could be cancelled. I never even realized that I had made the reservations through Reservations.com. I was totally duped by their fake website which appeared as if I was on the Hilton's website! When I went to cancel my reservation, I saw that it was non-refundable! I called them twice and got the exact same run around. I somehow also got double charged with two reservations! I am now involving my credit card company to dispute these charges. Reservations.com is completely unethical and out to scam and rip-off customers! Never use them and beware when making hotel reservations in future!
Reservations.com is a scam. I reserved a hotel through them not realizing their poor reputation. The price that I was quoted for my reservation was $200 less than what my credit card was charged. The forgot to mention the $200 in fees and taxes when they told me a price. On top of that, they charge you $14.99 to book, which infuriates me (probably more than it should).
I too, thought I was dealing directly with the hotel on-line (Quality Suites Airport Milwaukee), but only after I realized I made a mistake on my reservation and called the hotel directly to change it, did I realize I was being hijinked to reservations.com.
When I tried to modify the reservation I was told of their policy and I am now out 1000. 00. Tried working with my credit card company, actually had a 3 way conversation with Capital One, myself, and reservations.com who finally said (after being on hold for 2 hours, that I would be refunded some of the money-never happened). The hotel management was wonderful and told reservations.com to cancel my reservation and give me a refund-they still did not. After numerous emails and phone calls, I am done working with them, however, I am now retired, and have lots of time, and will be doing whatever it takes, that this does not happen to anyone else.
I just booked a room thinking I was dealing directly with Microtel Inn & Suites. The room was supposedly at a discount rate of $71.00 but when I received my conformation I had been booked an extra $14.99 that was not refundable. When I called customer service, which was awful, I was told that I had agreed for the non refundable amount. Not once did I agree to this amount nor was I given the option to read anywhere on the room amount that I would be charged an extra amount. When I asked to speak to the supervisor she would not transfer me to one. BE WARE AND DO NOT USE THIS SITE! COMPLETE SCAM1
We just booked a room at a Clarion through reservations.com. We thought we were dealing with the hotel site directly, but we were not. They said we were getting the discount rate, but the rate they gave us was about $15 MORE than the Clarion rate. Then... they charged us an additional $14.99 SERVICE FEE! Do NOT use these scam artists!
I would give them 0 stars if I could.
I inadvertently booked rooms for a funeral through Reservations.com instead of the hotel website.
Reservations.com provided receipts with taxes & fees rolled up into one category & refused to give me an itemized receipt, they said I had clicked through that information while making the reservation.
It was obvious, as soon as I received the receipt with taxes & fees rolled together, that reservations.com was upcharging the hotel, with fees, significantly.
We have since stayed at the hotel, 2 rooms for 3 nights, and the hotel provided a receipt showing what they received.
Not only did Reservations.com upcharge through fees, they also paid the hotel significantly less than the room rate I booked.
Reservations.com "& their vendors" received 40.864% of what the hotel received. The rest of the money went to city & state taxes & fees.
Don't book here at this fraud misleading website! They advertise one price and you look at your charge after you agree to that price and you are charged way more!
This scam should be closed down. Where is the BBB?
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
