Double Charged
May 13, 2019

Reservations.com took my reservation. My credit card statement had their charge and another full price charge from Red Roof Inn. Don't use this site - call the hotel directly.

If you are in Canada, they will tell you that they are quoting you in CDN dollars, when in fact, they are quoting in US dollars and blatantly lying to you. It is very difficult to understand them, because their English is terrible. They put the amount through on your credit card before you even complete the call AND they charge you an extra US$15 for using their service, but they don't mention that on the phone. We have been battling with these people for two weeks now and they just ignore our requests. Avoid these people at all costs!

It is the worst example of business ethics and costumer service because they are only interested in taking your money. I accidentally booked with them thinking I was booking directly from the hotel (for a PO) and immediately after canceling different representatives have been given me the round around for two weeks and still no refund.
Avoid them at all costs! Also, their rooms are overcharged! The same room directly from the hotel was $70 cheaper. I agree Google shouldn't allow them to appear in its engine search!

Beware, the $14.99 non-refundable reservation fee is NOT disclosed prior to the transaction being completed, whatever the poor telephone reps will repeat endlessly. There is a class action suit already filed against these crooks (in Illinois).
I submitted a consumer complaint to my State Attorney General. Please do the same if you get caught by these despicable people. They trip you up by being the first link showing in a google search for the hotel. Google should not allow this either.
Ugh!

Avoid at all cost
May 11, 2019

Made reservations for room@ 90 a night because it was cheaper than what hotel we were staying at offered. Well, as you make reservations there is no itemized charges before make reservation button. They charge 30% more than hotel and apparently it is a subsidiary of Priceline because they are the ones that collect the money. Also, I tried to cancel within 10 minutes and was unable. They leave you no window. Reservations.com you are crooks. Stay away people!

We made a hotel reservation in Toronto to be a part of our daughters event at the Special Olympics in May. We needed to change our reservation date from Tuesday to Friday, to Monday to Thursday.
A simple request. For sure
Instead we were told we were going to be charged $175.00 U.S. to make this change.
We called the hotel directly and they told us, to tell them no fee would be charged.
When I called back to Reservations. Com... and told them the hotel would agree to NO fee being charged, they then said we'd have to be charged $ 150.00 U.S. for changing our reservation from a King bed down to a Queen. Yup you read that right we would be charged for a lesser value room.
We called the hotel again and they very kindly told us and Reservations.com (The hotel Called Reservations.com) that there would be no additional fees what so ever.
We then called Reservations.com and confirmed these conversations and was told that an confirmation email would take 7 days to come.

That email never came... and I'm now on the phone for over an hour trying to confirm our reservation...

And they are now trying to charge me over $300 U.S. because we're now only days way from the reservation.

After an hour and a half of phone calls, between the hotel reservation staff, and Reservation. Com... our final remedy was to cancel our reservation...

The Delta Chelsea Hotel came through with what should have happened weeks ago... here is what they did to resolve the matter

Cancel the reservation at no cost to us
Book a new reservation for the dates we needed
And give us a nightly rate that was as good if not better than Reservations.com

How this saga ends... Well hopefully my daughter has a great time at the Special Olympics
And my wife and I have a cozy place to sleep at night to watch the replays of the games.

Simply put...
Don't ever use Reservations.Com

This site is a total scam! I thought I selected 2 nights, I was wrong, the fees are outrageous and there no changing/cancelling. The room was listed for $61 the total charge was $97. When I called they said that the additional cost was taxes and hotel fees, that their fee was only $14.95. When I called the hotel, they said that was outrageous and they would gladly cancel the reservation, that I could call Reservations and let them know the hotel would not charge them fees for canceling. I called and the customer service said they will "attempt" to call the hotel and will notify me is 5-7 business days. Note that the positive reviews on this site are completely fabricated if you read past the initial 3 lines.

I cancelled my stay with Reservations.com at the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, ON. I cancelled on time and with an email confirmation cancellation. It has been (3) months still waiting for a refund... Stay away from Reservations.com is what I suggest.

I had the ultimate WORST experience with reservations. Com! When I tried to cancel one of my two night hotel stays, they told me to contact the hotel. The hotel said it was no problem and I should get my money back from reservations. Com. I was on hold for hours, passed around, "disconnected" and "transferred" all to be hung up on every time. The hotel was $500 a night and weeks after I tried resolving this issue they're going to refund me $180. That's it?! Never again! Book straight with the hotel!

Telephone tag
May 6, 2019

I booked a room from the hotel, or so I thought, and reservations.com popped up first. They pay big money to trick people with instant pop ups. I am delivering my father's eulogy and was told the date was the 30th of May. A reservation was made by what i thought was the hotel but wasn't. I discovered the date was incorrect and tried to change it a day later. I was told it was non refundable unless I contacted the hotel manager to get approval to switch dates. Each time I talked to this company, it took atleast 20 minutes to get through and since it is a call center, I got a new person each time who gave me a scripted blah blah blah about the room being nonrefundable. Telephone tag was played for a week before I got satisfaction. The room was posted at 88 dollars but they charged my credit card 167 dollars. I did not know it was in american funds either, another scam. In the end, I got 140 back after a huge fight with these crooks and they kept 26 dollars for their pocket. When booking a room, i suggest to call the hotels directly or this could happen to you. Lesson learned

Booked a hotel in Canada not knowing I would get charged in American dollars. Tried to cancel within 5 minutes and they wouldn't do it. Said there was a non-refundable booking fee and other charges. Very rude customer service. Also the place had great pictures on the website but was a totally disgusting dump. Beware!

Horrible people with horrible customer service. UNBELIEVABLE. Made a reservation for a Quality Inn on the Quality Inn site, but was "switched" to this site. Tried to cancel after an accident since we couldn't travel. Charged $80 more than reservation cost. Secretly switched the prices! Refused to cancel. People very, very RUDE. Really DOESN'T get any worse than this... STAY AWAY!

Made a reservation for tonight and between hitting submit and getting the confirmation the price jumped 60 bucks. Called within 5 mins and they refused to cancel. They told us it had to have been canceled 2 days ago for refund. Reminder We JUST made the reservation 5 Mins ago. Hotel chains should be ashamed to use this service! Run away from this place as fast as you can!

Bait n Switch?
May 3, 2019

Is there an attorney in the house? This company advertised a rate of $177 Per night and in the time I was filling out the reservation info... credit card etc. and pressed send, the rate was increased to $201 per night. So, as a reasonable person, I called within minutes to cancel and was told by the representative at their call center she couldn't cancel and that my payment was non refundable. So I called the bank again within 10 minutes, and started the dispute process. This reeks of Bait and Switch, which falls under fraud... and from the looks of these other reviews, this company has been getting away with unethical and what appears as unlawful behavior for far too long. Run like hell and use another reservation company.

I was invited to an out of town wedding and googled the hotel. I explained I was making reservations for a wedding, they said they saw the wedding and the cost of the room was $351.86. I thought it was a bit steep but I charged it. Come to find out it was not the hotel I was talking to it was these jokers. We have had a death in the family and I need to cancel... can't do that DO NOT get douped like I did! I don't even want to give them a star!

I wish I would have read these reviews prior to booking with these scam artists. I was rushed and it appeared I was booking directly with Extended Stay of America but when I arrived at the hotel, they had no record of it. At check-out, I was charged again by the hotel and now, no one wants to provide a refund. Worst experience I've had booking online. And their non-refundable fee of $14.99 is ridiculous. For what? So they can get paid to rip you off! Lesson learned and never again. Stay away. All these reviews are legit.

I first called the hotel and cancelled well within 72 hours of reservation due to my mother dying and not being able to make the trip. The hotel cancelled immediately and told me to tell the 3rd party reservation company they would not be charged. I then called reservations.com and cancelled with them since they had already charged me the full amount. I got the run around for 3 weeks with them telling me they were trying to reach out to the hotel. Ultimately they said sorry this is not refundable. I will never use this company again and will tell everyone I know of the sham of a company that it is. This is fraud!

Can I give less than 1 star? Looking over the reviews here, this seems like a broken record but Reservations.com really scams the customer with fees. There is a $15 non-refundable fee simply for reserving a hotel room online through their website - other sites DON'T do this. Beyond the $15 fee, my hotel bill fees totaled more than what I would have paid if I had simply walked into the hotel directly to pay for a room - this was confirmed by the on duty employee. I'm still not clear on what taxes and fees were applied. Awful. Never again.

Mistakenly hit submit on a reservation, tried to undo it, couldn't get $15 non-refundable fee back. After calling customer service 3 times, they said they would make exception and credit the $15 back. Guess what? That $15 never made it back to my card LIARS and THIEVES!

Total scam company
April 26, 2019

Exactly what everyone else is saying is totally true. They absolutely lied the whole time. They pretended to be the hotel and I specifically was booking out of a wedding block. I asked them if they were booking my rooms out of the wedding block and they replied Yes. Total lie! They pretended they were the hotel booking out of the wedding block of rooms and then I asked about cancellation policy. They said fully refundable by a certain date. Not once did they say there was a 15.00 min refundable fee per room since they were reservations.com. Totally deceitful and sneaky. This seems to be their practice since so many reviews are saying the same thing. We need to post everywhere about this terrible company. Possibly a class action suit. What a rip off.
