Scammers

I cannot agree more with all the other reviewers leaving their negative reviews. Carla did precisely that with me. I made a reservation for an automatic transmission car on their website. When the reservation request came through, I received a confirmation instantly, showing a "manual transmission" instead of "Automatic Transmission." I did not know what to do because you can only do a few things on their website, but not all. It seems that they intentionally force you to use their smartphone app only. I clicked cancel on the reservation tab, assuming it was an instant request to cancel the reservation because it did not offer the automatic car I had requested. I also outlined this reason in the cancellation request and shared it with their customer support email as a follow-up. Despite all that, they said it's their policy that if you don't buy a so-called "trip cancellation" policy, they will not refund you anything. Guess what? I never saw anything during the reservation claiming or suggesting to be "trip cancellation coverage," etc. Instead, they claim everywhere on their blog and website that their cancellation is worry-free anytime. Several emails but the same canned response. No live assistance, email with no fairness standard of the industry.
Stay away or pay more elsewhere because you will be glad you looked elsewhere. I don't even think these guys are legit because, in the U.S., you cannot do business that way, and it will be unlawful to claim misleading statements about worry-free refunds, but it means nothing to them. Also, not disclosing the business transaction terms properly regarding the worry-free cancellation or the "trip-cancellation coverage" will surely land them significant legal liabilities. Anyone counting on a lawsuit, please let me know. I'd be glad to join the "teach a lesson to the crooks" forum for the sake of social good.

I don't see the option of not giving them any stars. Otherwise, they don't deserve even half a star in any category except for being scammers and cruel crooks in the industry. I would never use them ever again in life and have deleted its app from my device. Businesses that don't care about customers and morals don't live long. We will see through its slow death together soon... keep watching!

Went to pay for and rent my a vehicle that I had booked through Carla... they use corporate promo codes because they asked who I worked for. I didn't get that information from rent carla and had to rebook my reservation which was double the price! Sent rent carla a message about this and of course no response so I'm out there $14 fee they charge plus 50% more on a rental! I would advise not to use this service! You are better off using the individual car rental apps and using their promo offers!

Do not trust this guys, it is a complete scam. They book your car as if you work in determined companies to apply a discount (in my case General Motors) and when you arrive to the dealer they don't apply that discount and you have to pay a higher rate. Additionally they don't share information as the dealer doesn't know what you have paid in Carla. They will never answer back. Complete scam, don't trust.

I'm pissed off

So I rented a car a week in advance paid in full with Affirm, today I try and pick up the vehicle from hertz and at the counter they try charging me for the rental plus deposit, I said I already paid for the vehicle so I should only pay for the deposit and the guy said no it's not showing paid in our computer. I googled Carla phone number to no avail so I emailed them and called affirm which assured me that the payment was already processed. I never heard back from Carla and emailed them twice since this morning. I would stay far away from this company

Zero stars if I could

They are the worst and only use email as communication which can be frustrating when trying to solve a problem. Joel was the one emailing me and he would not give me a number to call because I wanted a refund. The car rental company was willing to give me a refund on their part but Joel with Carla said I would not get a refund nor credit. So do not use this crappy app they will not give you a refund and will not communicate properly. I hope they run out of business because they are such a scam. You are better of renting straight from a rental company.

Not worth a star.

They rip you off $87 for a cancellation that was done on the same day of the reservation. You try to contact them… no phone number. Their email reply-
"Due to workload and time management reasons, we can only assist our customers via tickets.
Please be informed that credits can not be converted into cash/refund once applied. Your credits will be valid up to 2 years, you may share them with your family and friends.
You may consider this answer as the final one."

No refund. Fraud for sure

This app is fraud. Paid everything, went to pick up the car at the Bolzano airport, no rental car company exist at the airport. Asked refund, but they said refund is not possible. Do not use this app. Money was taken. Really embarrassed

Deceptive

They rely on "free cancellation" and advertise based on that premise. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere as those wont refund you a dime. Their only way for customer service is sending email. Hope for a reply? Yeah, good luck with that! By the way, my cancellation was made two and a half months before the day of picking up the rented car. So for your own sack use trusted sites!

Bogus car rental app

Went to pick up my car at the scheduled reservation time at the airport. They said they could see my reservation but since it was booked at 5pm the night before and it wasn't 24 hrs after booking which is the airport car rentals rules they wouldn't honor the reservation and carla would not refund me.

Reservation not found, money taken

When I arrived to pick up my rental car there was no record of the reservation. I emailed customer service and this was days ago but still have no answer. I was charged $50 for not showing up to get the car but there was no car to get! I showed up and ended up paying a fortune for a car last minute because I needed a car! Highly don't recommend. I consider it a scam.

Due to ineffective and what feels like scammy policies (they never mentioned a $500 additional deposit before the rental) and now they are saying it will take up to 10days to refund me for a rental that was for my brothers' wedding. They are screwing me twice and the customer service people are truly underpaid and unhelpful - they string out emails attempting to be polite but really just covering for their scammy company. I honestly just want my money back and I sent the follow up email a few days later so essential it is going to take 2 full weeks to get my moeny back?

Fraudulent company!

We rented a vehicle in Tampa FL through Carla. We received a quote for the rental and confirmed. We paid the deposit. The following day, another charge was made by Carla that we did not authorize. We contacted the rental car company directly. They confirmed that they received our rental confirmation but had not received any money from Carla. They confirmed the same total STILL BEING DUE, even though Carla had now charged us over $220! We immediately tried to cancel. Keep in mind, you cannot call Carla. Email only and wait 3 days or more for a response. The options to cancel are to get a full refund in CREDIT for another rental or get "1/2" of your money back. In our case, half of $224 was $84! How is that half?! We have been emailing for a month and keep getting the run around. We have not received our money back! They legitimately are scamming people, stealing your money, not sending the money to the rental company and then are refusing to repay it. They need to be held accountable and reported in every way. I wish I had read reviews prior to dealing with them. I will continue to report them until they're out of business. Run! Do not give them your money!

I get to the rental car place and get to the counter lady rude as hell she go we need a $200 deposit ok I put my cars in the credit card reader and the lady go we don't take debit cards I told her I done paid for the rental and they didn't say anything about a deposit or needing a credit card so I emailed Carla's back and said I would not get refunded my $68 &change and so I paid for a rental and didn't get to even get the car they owe me money I will never use this place again
