I booked a car through Carla. When I found out the rental company required a return flight I cancelled my resercation. This was not even 12 hours later and no where did it state the reservation was non refundable. Long story short, I'm out several hundred dollars because they are shady and don't disclose these things up front before you book. Use any other rental service but NOT Carla
I booked using Carla because of its low prices. I thought it would emulate Turo's service…. Boy was I writing. It's a BOOKING service. That's it. I still had to wait two hours at the airport to speak with an Avis representative. Avis told me that NONE of my reservation was paid. I called Carla- they agreed I had paid for a reservation. TWO CHARGES ($45) on my account. I have called and emailed asking for a refund to no avail. I will have to dispute them with my bank. STAY AWAY. These fake companies are really a disgrace.
I've tried to get a refund from them for over 2 months now. I have photos of the proof that they lied and tried to changed the reservation amount on me. They said a deposit of maybe 350 they wanted to charge me 500. Then they wanted to up the price of the car I was renting and just sneak it in. All they owe me is $107. I've created multiple tickets, spoke with multiple people and paid for the hassle free refund service if anything goes wrong. All has been a hassle. Never use this company ever. You will get scammed and deceived. I paid $107 down according to my bank statement and they refuse to refund me.
They have charged me yearly subscription even though I have unticked that option, together with other fees, then the car rental company wanted to block some money from our card which wasn't informed by Carla. It's a rip off
If i could rate this in the negitives i would. I tried to rent a car through here and i placed the exact amount of money on my card. When i clicked book my account declined it due to scam activites and when i went into the app to accept and approve of the charge it turns out it declined because they tried to charge me 4 TIMES for the same amount. Thank HOD i dont put more then i need to in my card cause i would have lost about $1400. When i tried the customer service they pulled some crap saying when it declined they automatically tried again but thats not what my bank says. They pulled the same amount 4 times at the same time!
They are scammer, My name is Ahmed Alshamsi from UAE Before we traveled to Bratislava my family and I we decided to book a van then we searched through the internet then unfortunately we found this scammer Carla which afford very cheap renal cars, anyway I booked a van for 14 days so they took the money and after that they emailed me with CONFIRMATION NUMBER *******869. When we arrived at Airport we went to the office on the time and they told me no cars available. Until now didnot pay me back with no reason.

The app is in my is like a lot companies today especially 3 rd party they will talk to you instead an automated system will reply best as possible but once you made reservations threw them they have you locked in no matter if the discount code are working or and conveniently after reservation the automated will.contact and want yr opinion well here Carla is misleading and fraudulent in some ways but at the least not a good company to use especially with yr name and credit card
These people to 70 dollars out of my account for looking at my options to rent a car which I never did. I had to put in my information just to see the options they had and didn't go with them and they still took two separate payments out of my account and now I can't get in touch with anyone who will help me get my money back. Thieves is what these people are and it's bulls$*t that they are allowed to do this with no consequences. You or I were to just take someone's money we'd be in jail by the end of the day stay away from this place their a joke
Simple words! They are The worest. I advice you all. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE! Or Burn ur cash. My Name is Samuel Gelaw. They know this name damn well. I just gave my case to a lawyer. I don't want anyone to have my experience.
They make it seem like the price of rentals are great up to the part where you have to pay part of the cost(say $60), then the balance(say $60) at the desk are stated clearly. So up to this point the debited $60 plus $19 for some other charge, summing up to about $139. Only after the debit or credit card payment is done a little app chat assistant indicates what you need to pick up vehicle. Its only then they tell you about $500 deposit and if you cancel because you don't have it as it was never mentioned at the beginning they don't refund you your money. Instead of refunding you your hard earn money back the send it to the CARLA CASH app as indicated in the photo below. The photo i uploaded shows my money ($86.52) but I can only use it on to rent from Carla rental only which would require a deposit. They refused to refund me my cash up to now. In comparison the Turo app is similar to this Carla app, but the difference is you require no deposit, so if Turo show you the price as $139 upon card payment, that's all you got to pay. Next day just pick up ur car, no form filling or other hidden payments.
No customer service, no answer via email or phobe, they did not even send a reservation confirmation with details, so it was impossible to show what I have paid for via their website. Really ruined my holidays, I paid 3x as much as they advertised. Sucked so bad words cannot describe. Never again!
I booked a car to be picked-up from the city center from Carla. They reserved me a car in the airport. When I wanted to cancel the reservation, they charged me for the full fee. I am not booking from Carla again
I booked my reservation through the Carla App.
The App. Charged immediately an portion of the total rental amount to reserve my rental car in the amount of $29.55.
At the arrival the rental car agent ask me for my Government Employment ID. I told him I do not work for any Government. The agent explained that - to validate the discount code used by the CARLA APP. I need an Goverment ID.
At the same time the Carla App. Send me an message asking if I got my rental. I text back that the rental company can't rent me a car under the reservation code which was used to reserve the vehicle. In addition to the whole disaster, the Carla App. Charge my Credit Card additional charge in the amount of $23.94.
- No Car just unauthorized charges-
Never again I got ripp off in the amount of 29.55+23.94 = 53.49
After being told that I was eligible through their company even with poor credit to rent a vehicle,I pre-paid. Got to my out of state location and was denied and none of my money was returned. The customer service rep exclaimed to me we have over 150 rental car dealers,and reassured me that they could help. Nothing but 470$ down the DAMN drain. I HATE THESE PEOPLE WITH A PASSION.
If it were possible to give negative stars, that is how I would rate this company. They are a scam and have nothing but negative reviews. I did not take the time to research them as I should have before getting myself involved with them. I thought since they worked with Affirm, they were a reputable company like Amazon. Turned out they are nowhere near. I needed to get a rental car for a weekend out of town trip, so I found Carla's car rental online and saw that they accepted Affirm pay later plan. However, I had to cancel my plans due to a needed medical procedure and contacted Carla's car rental. There is no phone number so I sent an email to them. After going round and round with them and the website not cooperating, I was finally able to cancel the reservation on the app, after repeated inquiries to be contacted via phone as I needed to speak to someone in person. To sum it up, the cancellation was done in a timely manner (days after the reservation was made). These scammers charged me 50% cancellation fee BUT only wanted me to receive the other 50% in what they call the "Carla Bucks" or credit to use towards them in the future. I would not use this company if they were the only ones on earth. Read all the other reviews from their unsatisfied customers. They are a joke and I would not do business with them EVER! I had to learn my lesson the hard way, but I hope this will help the next person considering to use this company. DON'T DO IT.
They set you up with great pricing. Give you a corporate name to use for signing in at the Rental office and you don't know what the corporation code is because you never worked there. In fact, Budget car rental has had their lawyers send out seize and dismiss. They are told to never use the Budget's name for car rentals because the customer gets upset when they don't get the discount that was offered. From the fraudulent vendor named Carla Rentals
Do not even think to rent car from this company.
I book a car and paid 250€.
They sent me a message and state that anythime i can cancel reservation with full refund if i paid 29€.
I paid this amount and later i cancelled the reservation.
No refund and only e mail with stating there will be no refund.
SCAM
They gave false information regarding price. The rental place didn't accept there insurance. They charged me extra $20 without my permission. And refuse to refund my money.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, NEVER BOOK WITH THEM. I would never bash a company that didn't at least put effort into trying to resolve the issue, but they did not do anything to help.
I had a booking with Carla, I had a confirmation email that included my confirmation number, what car we were booking, etc. On the day I arrived at the airport I tried to get ahold of them and they informed me my booking was cancelled, which they NEVER notified me about. All I had received from them was a confirmation email and multiple promotional deals (and yes I checked my junk box).
Their idea to resolve the issue was to offer a 15% discount on my next booking … A JOKE. Oh and to refund my deposit. So if I wouldn't have contacted them, they would have kept my deposit for a cancellation THEY MADE. I was honestly convinced I had been scammed.
Because of their mess up, I had to incur an additional £400 in costs. I wasted a day of my trip having to travel from Paris to London and then from London back to Paris. I would have made other travel arrangements if I would have been notified of the cancellation.
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY, if I could give zero stars I would.
I rented a car through Carla Car Rental yesterday 6/13/23. I found out it was through Budget. They sent me all the information including a voucher I was supposed to use at the counter. When I wasted time, energy, effort, and gas to get to Budget. I was immediately stopped from moving forward at the counter because I was renting with my debit card. Airport policy is to rent with a credit card. I explained this to Alex the chat bot they have at the Carla zen desk to answer emails. I asked for a refund for the money they debited. He told me they sent me a voucher that's all he constantly says. I can't speak to a chat bot energy. I need a human with thought process, character, and integrity who understands not to steal from customers. Carla rental car knows I couldn't rent the car, so refund my monies for services not rendered. Don't rent from these rip off companies like Carla rental car. They will rob you of your money knowing they're wrong and owe you your money back. These less than piss-poor business practices has to cease.
Answer: Total scam. I've reported them to the BBB, The Federal Trade Commision and The Attorney Generals Office in the state their located in, in an attempt to get my money back.Good luck. Run the other way while you can.
Answer: Never use these people, carla.com. If you gave then the reservation fee I hope you can get it back. They took my money and never sent the reservation. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commision, and The Attorney Generals Office.
