2 weeks ago i used the carla app to rent a car for a trip they confirmed everything with me and the company i was renting the car from everything was confirmed i was supposed to pick the car up at 6pm i get there at 5:35 and the gate is closed but unlocked so i went in the gate and they were already closed after confirming my 6pm pick up so i get in contact with carla they have made me wait 2 weeks to find out im not even getting a refund for THEIR MESS UP this app is a joke first time ever using it and they messed up but want to offer me carla cash but cant even offer me my $$ back what kind of joke is that
I rented in miami for $27 for day. I changed time 3 times and I had no issues. Customer team was helpful and drop-off was smooth. Definitely will use again when needed.
I booked a car through these idiots. They charged me 89. Upfront with the promise of a refund in the event of cancelation. I had to cancel due to the fact that the rental company would not accept the deposit from a cloud bank. Thrifty car rental also told me you should NEVER be charged a fee to book a car. I could go to their website and book the damn car for free. So I guess I'll be contacting the BBB and the Federal Trade Commision about carla.com. It's a complete scam
On February 13,2023 I booked a rental car through Carla Car Rental App. They took half the payment which was $142.50 when I booked and the remainder was to be paid in person when I picked up the car. About 10 minutes after booking they charged me again for $72 but the reasoning was never given to me when I asked multiple times. After that the car rental agency called me and stated they had to cancel my reservation because they did not have any cars available that day. I then called Carla Car Rental and told them the reservation was canceled by the agency and I requested a refund so I could book elsewhere for my trip. They continuously declined my refund even though this cancellation was not my fault. The agency cancelled due to lack of inventory, I never received a car nor was offered to get a car from another agency through Carla and no where in any of their policies does it state that a refund is not allowed if the cancellation isn't due to something the customer did (i.e choosing to not pick up car, not having proper documentation such as license or credit card when arriving to agency to pick up car & etc.). None of their reasons apply to my situation because I did not cancel my reservation and I had everything needed to pick my rental up that day. The agency canceled simply due to not having cars in stock. After going back and forth trying to get my refund back I came across so many negative reviews of this company and people having the same issue as me when it pertains to a refund due to not receiving a car. The reviews are on google, Reddit, and their Facebook page. The only thing they offered me was a credit to use with them even though I stated I would never ever use them again. Also, they keep track of people's phone numbers when there is a dispute and will purposely ignore your call but if you call from a different number they'll answer and they will not provide legal information needed to take them to court if needed due to no resolution.
I rented a car through the Carla app. I payed in full ($380). I went to go pick up the car at my local airport, considering the Carla app "Let me". No primped windows with any disclaimers just "go pick it up at such and such at 12am" GREAT! So I went to pick my car up and low and behold they can not issue me a vehicle because I had to have a "returning flight ticket". Now, I'm a little upset. I contacted Carla customer service about this matter but their "phone line" DOESN'T WORK. They say every single time I call "There are no available agents to help you but leave your email address and confirmation number and we'll call you back" hahahahaha they didn't… only assuming they don't want to talk to people because they are to scared to deal with people over the phone. So, they hide behind a screen ripping people off like. I emailed them, they put the money in the Carla app of course cause why wouldn't they just refund my money. Okay, cool… so I went to go get another rental car but NOW I can't pay any car in full… hmmm suspicious. Fast forward to a week of back and forth emails. I was supposed to get a response back but can you guess it? Yeah I never did. So I took the liberty of emailing them again. They just send me an email saying "We can not issue you a refund, we would like to thank you in your understanding about this matter." Likeeee whaaaaaaaa? So yeah they beat me for almost $400. I'm only sure they do this to a lot of people. I will bombard reviews ALL over the internet until I get my money back. I could understand if it was my fault but fortunately it was Carla's. So if y'all reading this, better contact me ASAP. DONT USE THIS APP!
Found Carla on Affirm app and I figured I'd give it a try considering they are on a site I trust. Well I was wrong! I reserved what I thought was a great deal, arrived at airport and told customer agent I had a reservation through Carla. Things did not seem right from the start, as she didn't even acknowledge the company. She said I was entitled to a free upgrade and asked about paying ahead for the fuel. I acknowledged since the rate she offered was cheaper even with fuel. This was for a 2 week rental. I was surprised to see the entire rental charged to my card. I assumed I would only pay a deposit at the counter and settle up with Carla at the end for actual pricing plus commission. This is not how it works folks. Thrifty charged me $375 for rental, apart for what Carla was charging me. I found this out when I called Thrifty to ask about the charges on my credit card. I was assuming deposit which would come off, but it was actually for upgrade price, taxes, and agreed upon fuel. Although I was able to get most money back for the "free upgrade", I was still out over $40 for taxes and fees that should have been included or accounted for through Carla pricing. It isn't, and now I have to pay Carla $618, when I paid $375 at rental agency. There is no value in that folks. I see the poor ratings on here and I completely understand why they are so bad. Don't trust this site! Probably best for you to rent at the airport, as you'll find better deals there.
I wasn't able to pick up car due to a system issue. First, contacting them was really hard because they don't have a phone number (only email). I contacted them via email and they denied my refund. When I asked why, I wasn't given a proper reason. Just don't use them.
Absolute SCAM! Fraud! And Google Play is just as responsible. Never go to this app...delete it! It is all FRAUD! Never a rental, just a way to get your card # and steal from you...whenever they want.
The request was canceled in minutes and they refuse to give me a refund. I have been reaching since October to get this situation fixed. All I get is someone emailing that I got Carla cash that can be used any time. I never got Carla Cash. I don't want Carla Cash I want a refund. I think it's sad that my money was basically stolen and there's is no one to talk too.
I think this frustrated forum should gang up and file a lawsuit against these people.they are ripping the law abiding citizens and taxpayers of this land.i reserved a rental car with them today the app froze for quite sometime then they sliced $57 from my account.no one or number is given to call and walk you over the process. All my efforts of reaching out to them landed between a stone and a hard ground.they are so frustrating.i think its just a conglomeration of vultures that are out to tear their prey.i would never recommend anyone with their good judgment to opt use this service. They just a group of untrained customer service.they even went ahead and said that my voucher number was invalid. Sucks!
I booked a rental through Carla Car Rental. On the day for my pick at AVIS Car Rental they could not find the booking information with the confirmation code they provided me to show at the counter. This resulted for me to make a new reservation at AVIS for a new booking, I had to pay tons of money to get a rental that day. I contacted Carla for a refund despite adding the "Peace of Mind" that promised me to get my money back they did not do so. They will take your money and act dumb later so PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO NOT BOOK WITH CARLA! I had to credit dispute this charge and that was the only way to get my money back after I provided tons of evidence to support my claim.
These company is horrible, they stole $306 from me and I didn't even rent a car. And a $19 transaction just posted to my account from these sorry folks. Nonsense! Save yourself the hassle burn your money in the fireplace but don't give it to Carla Car
I rented with Carla last week for 3 days and no issue happened. I used Dollar in MKE. I paid my rental with rent carla and there were no unexpected fees.
PS: I chose surprise car and I got economy. It was cheap but If you are looking for a specific car, choose that.
I rented a car for pick up at 1am in the morning. Carla closed early at 8pm and the car rental was thrifty at 1am witch I had no clue that thrifty closes at 1am. Why would they let me rent a car at the time of closing. Then my flight was delayed so I couldn't get my car. I called thrifty and Carla as soon as I found out my flight was delayed. Got ahold of thrifty but still up to this day I can't get ahold of carla customer service only messages. They refuse to give me a refund even though that it wasn't my fault. I will never ever rent from them again. I've never had a problem renting a car. Company like those need to let people know there hours of operation or find a way to let people know what time the rental company closes. Like this was the worst service I've ever had. Then they say to get the unique service of a peace of mind. How the customer knows about this if it's not on there. I'm not ever useing this company again
My son used a debit card to hold a vehicle. When he realized that he has an issue with his credit card and was unable to use it, he contacted the Carla customer service about the issue. They refused to issue him a refund.
They kept my $65, after not even renting a car, sent it to me on a Carla credit card that I am unable to use anywhere but there. So basically, they are stealing money from people. Would definitely be better off going through Avis, Budget, or another one of the big names, but I would definitely stay away from Carla, unless you want to get ripped off.
Ended up paying $213 for a rental that was not available to me. Carla reserved and gave a confirmation # but 2 hours later rental lot called and stated that my reservation could not be fulfilled due to shortage of cars. They were having to cancel at least 8 other rentals that were reserved. I provided cancelation emails from local lot along with contact numbers for manager at local rental lot. 2 months later this still was not resolved. I was offered Carla cash as a credit but never received credit. When I followed up on the credit "carla cash" they told me they could not meet my expectations and wished me a happy holiday. Terrible business! Stay away from Carla Cars. Book Direct no matter how much more it cost. As another customer stated...not worth 1 Star. Chalk it up as a lesson learned! Book Direct - No 3rd Party!
I got charge $1,713.57 when I tried to cancel it you can only email so it took them longer to respond which I would've meet the minimum standard to qualify for a refund. Now I have to pay that amount and I never even used the product nor even seen the product. A horrible company.
I couldn't even rent the car and I paid over $200 deposit and their refusing to give me my money back but put it towards some Carla cash and I don't want to use them every again. This company is not truthful or trustworthy. I don't recommend using them at all. If there was a no star service I would give them that. No live support all emails and that's not okay. Refusing to give a single mother her money back and now I can't feed my kids. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY OR TRUST THEIR SITE!
Reserved a car used my bank card to hold the reservation and aporox 10 mins later i cancelled my reservation. They responded with the customery:" thank you sorry that we could not help you blah blah blah." This was at 630 pm. At 1 am i get a email comfirming my cancelled reservation. So i again cancelled it saying i cancelled it at 630 the night before 7 hours earlier. Only to get a respinse of there is no refund on your reservation! I called my bank and they hit my acct for $322. They offered me credit for that amount but not a refund. I said fine i will keep my reservation since i have paid for it and was told i no longer had a car reserved so credit only. I jave beem fighting with them and i have got no where. The fact that they hit my acct after i cancelled and never made any other reservations! They are crooks, scamets thiefs and should be investiagated for fraud and robbery! Had no choice but to hove 1 star so i could post my review they are negative in star dept!
Answer: Total scam. I've reported them to the BBB, The Federal Trade Commision and The Attorney Generals Office in the state their located in, in an attempt to get my money back.Good luck. Run the other way while you can.
Answer: Never use these people, carla.com. If you gave then the reservation fee I hope you can get it back. They took my money and never sent the reservation. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commision, and The Attorney Generals Office.
