I have booked a car online before I travelled I caught a taxi from the airport to go and pick up the car when I arrived I was told that my reservation was cancelled due for no availability of cars I was not informed I was not told and there was another guy there who has been conned like me, and then they offer have another car but you have to pay extra it is very unprofessional hire place strongly stay away from this stupid people.
I do I give them five stars screwing people around nothing else they ruined my day they make their prices cheap and once you get there they say no car available but yo can pay extra money and have different cars.
Strongly advise just go straight to the professional car rental places places and be done with that don't rent a car with this rentalcar crap website.
Rented a Hertz car at Denver airport for 12 days. Paid rental cars.com $712.53 on 06/14/23. Seemed like a good price compared to Expedia and other sites. Picked-up car on 07/27/23 and was charged an additional $291.22 by Hertz for concession fee, licensing cost recovery fee, facility use fee, road safety fee and tax. Total of $1,003.75 was MORE than any other site for similar car. Should have looked at rentalcars.com reviews which are consistently very low. Lesson learned. DO NOT use this company.
Please don't west your money, stop dealing with this company, if you need a car hire it directly from the supplier, otherwise you will face many troubles, my last experience with this rentalcars was so bad, they totally spoiled my honey moon, they took my money, all of it although I never saw the car.
All employees had been trained just to say sorry sir we understand your feelings but we can't do anything, very difficult to reach them, useless company, and by the way all suppliers might dealing with them but they still do not respect them, they will never offer you the same service like if you has dealt directly with them
Yes you think you're saving money by choosing them but it's most likely too happen that you lose all of because of there tricks and hidden points that you'll never notice, until they surprise you

2. Rental Cars have very weird agreements with the Rental Companies. I arrived 5 hours late due to a flight delay and my booking was cancelled, rentalcars did not refund me nor possible to contact.
3. Somewhere within their T&Cs, arriving X hours late to pick up triggers a 100% cancellation 100% -> you wont get this back
I showed up at 3am at Las Americas in Santo Domingo. Nobody at Budget desk. It never occurred to me to call RentalCars on the spot to describe the unexpected situation (my only mistake; my mistake nevertheless). I was tired and just needed a car (that I ended up getting from a different shop). Getting in touch with RentalCars later was painful; they basically implied that I was lying (I provided all the evidence I could; just didn't have a picture of the empty Budget desk). I fully prepaid to RentalCars a few weeks before that; so, I lost 100% of my money on top of being politely told that I was lying. Please be careful; look elsewhere if possible
Advice from someone who's got burned a few times: whenever you can rent directly from a rental shop, do so. Skip the middlemen like RentalCars. They provide no value added; and when there is an issue, you're almost always on your own. The actual rental shop will always send you back to talk to them since they're the folks you booked with (and good luck with that)
I wouldn't even give them one star. I pre-paid almost $300 for a car rental. Got to the counter when I arrived at the airport. I did not have enough room on my credit card for a deposit on the car. That's fine, I understand the policy. I moved on to Stix rental car (which was wonderful)! Rentalcars.com will not refund my $279.11 for a car I never ended up renting from them. Now I am having to dispute this claim through my credit card company. What a hassle. I think I'd rather use public transportation then deal with this company again.
I rented a car through rentalcars.com. My flight was canceled, and the next one was delayed. When I got to the airport, I had to use a different company and pay for another car. I called the company; they refused to make it right. They offered a $1000 penalty, which I was willing to pay as that was what was stated in the contract. The only way I would see the remainder of the fee was through a rental at a different time. I didn't need a rental at a different time - I needed one for that day. They were absolutely horrible. Then when I used the customer service link to file a claim, the link was a deadend.
I booked through this website for an Iceland trip. They were miles from the airport. I had to taxi from the airport to the Lava car rental location. They closed early because they were short staffed. We had to taxi to our hotel & taxi back the next day. They refused to credit us for the day. And charged us an additional $900 after we returned the car. It was very inconvenient and ended up being more expensive than renting direct from the airport rental car options. Never again!
I payed for a rental car model Fiat 500 or similar from the Company Blue Auto trading.
I arrived to the Miami airport at the indicated point of shuttle pick up service (outside the rental car building at Miami Airport).
Because no shuttle showed up for picking us up, I called the company and the person on the phone told me to wait 20-30 mins. After this time standing on the heat with my mother who is over 80 years old and seeing no sign of a shuttle, I called again and the same person (man) told me to wait another 30 mins.
I called afterwards another number indicated at the reservation. The same man answered to me again and said that he was the only person in the company (the only who answers the phone, pick the passengers, rent the car, makes the documentation, serve clients, etc) and that he did not have time to pick us up because he had other things to do and that I should wait until he calls me because as for that moment he did not have time to pick us up. He also said that if I had any problem / I needed to cancel I should contact rentalcars.com
I called three or more times to rentalcars.com customer service. I explained the situation. They contacted Blue and they answered that they had cancel my reservation on their side and that they did not know what happened with the car (probably this information was provided by the only same person on site who spoke to me and was lying because they did not have any car to start with).
In the last call I had with rentalcars.com, they tried to contact Blue auto trading (despite if me repeating the story of what had happened) but there was no answer from their side. I tried to rent another car through the system of rentalcars.com. However, this was not possible.
Being at the rental car building at Miami airport, and from information coming from the counters of the companies in situ, there was no car available (even when the system put me on confirmation pending) because it was too late.
I received a message from Rentalcars.com coming from s person I spoke to at the beginning and it says I did not show up (no show) to pick up the car.
Nevertheless, I was waiting for the shuttle of Blur auto trading all the time at the designated/agreed spot, outside the rental car building at the Miami airport. They didn't want to refund me and now I have to make a long process to file a new claim when this was not my fault.
This is a terrible service. Never use it!
We had the worst experience with Rentalcars that there could be. From the moment something happens that you are unable to pick up your car with a valid reason, you will never see any money back.
We had some problems in the US with our European Cards. The company's don't take our debit cards, and there was a problem with our VISA card that we needed to contact the bank. Because of those combined reasons, we weren't able to pick up the car we reserved as the renting company needs a working card.
There is a huge time difference between the US and Europe, so we could only contact our banks in Europe late at night to fix the problems with the cards.
We contacted rentalcars about our situation, but they just refused to give anything back our give a solution that works claiming we were a day to late. No matter what you say to them, they will just hit you with contracts and little rules that are hidden in their policies.
So my advice is only use rentalcars as a tool to find the most affordable company to rent from and don't use them to book the cars, go to the companies themselves as they do help to give you a good solution for your problems.
They might have gotten the money for one car, but this company definitely lost a consumer in the long run!
First time using this company they are a scam never use it. They are awful horrible people that never let you speak to managers are rude and run themselves. They don't even speak english
Worse company ever. I paid upfront couldn't rent the car at the rental company and they never refunded me. Im taking them to court. Got a bunch of proof that they scam you.

Were tricked! Extra fees, taken advantage of, different car than reserved, not clean and bad service! WTF
Our flight was delayed. We arrived to the car rental place (Hertz—don't even get me started with them!) and they closed early. We were stranded at the airport with no car. Had to take a $91 Uber to hotel. Took another $60 Uber back to airport next day to get car. Our reservation was cancelled because we were considered a "no show" even though Hertz closed prior to posted closing time. They charged us full amount and would not give us a car without rebooking and paying for a new rental. The customer service was terrible. Very rude. I cannot understand how you can charge someone for a service that was not provided. We spent 6 hours of the first day of our holiday dealing with this. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Book directly with the car rental agency! They are modern day scammers!

πληρωσα 400 ευρω με την χρεωστικη γιατι δεν εχω πιστωτικη. οταν πηγα να παραλαβω το αυτοκινητο μου ζητουσαν πιστωτικη. δεν μου το εδωσε η εταιρια με την οποια συνεργαζονται γιατι ηθελε πιστωτικη.
οταν το πρωι μιλησα με την εξυπηρετηση πελατων μου ειπαν οτι χανω τα χρηματα τα οποια ειχα πληρωσει (400+ ευρω)

I booked a car with almost a month in advanced, got to the pick up location and the conditions of the rental were completely different ( it was limited miles, their own insurance company as only choice and exclusively within the state of Florida). I left without a car and they never refunded me for it.
Avoid at all costs.
No help, no response to reported problems. It is only important to rate the employee highly in the survey. Much better and safer to book directly with a rental company.

Just don't. If you have any issues, going through rentalcars.com is such a pain. They will just throw some terms and conditions at you that there is no refund for anything, no matter if the car was returned over a week early. It's better to book though the given rental place itself. It's worth the few bucks more. Believe me. Also insurance wise.
