Like a scam

I was going to get an automatic car from Rhodes airport from OK Mobility through rentalcars.com. The company said they don't have automatic car and they offered another manual downgraded car with the same money. They said I can cancel on rentalcars website and I did. They just refund the insurance and the customer service (difficult to reach) told I had to call them from the company's counter! I felt like I'm scammed indeed. Stay away from this company!

We booked a car via the ryanair car rental site at mas by mex in Cancun WITH full coverage insurance on the raynair site. 2 hours before accepting the rentalcar contract they canceled my insurance without letting me know. Now we didnt have any insurance at all. Upon asking why they canceled the insurance they explained that I(!) canceled the insurance. That is an absolute lie! Avoid it at all cost

Disgraceful

In iceland my personal car failed. We were in real trouble... I rented a vehicle from rentalcars.com thinking we were going to leave iceland. The time was at 12:15 p.m. the rental was for the following morning at the airport. As it turned out we determined stay, so at 1:30 p.m. the same day I went online to cancel the transaction (rental) JUST ONE HOUR AFTER THE RENTAL OCCURED... Nope! The rental could not be cancelled and I got charged... can you imagine... only one hour after the booking they refused yo cancel... and I was in trouble...

WHAT SCAMMERS... PLEASE!

This company is a scam, they quoted a price of $385 which had to be paid upfront and when I got to Orlando the rental company wanted an additional $560 for insurance and other fees.please stay away from this company.

Booked car and paid. When flight arrived went to pick up car, was told "no cars", they had overbooked. Stranded. Had to call an Uber. I contacted Rentalcars.com to get my money back, they refused. Had to contact BBB and now rentalcars.com is wanting the flight number, name of employee and uber driver name and receipt, give me a break, like they didnt put me out enough when they left me stranded at the airport. They are doing whatever they can not to refund my money, have some ethics! Rentalcars.com is owned by Priceline. Thiefs! Never use! Heard Turo is a great place to rent a car. Be sure to check their reviews, one star!

Untrustworthy

DO NOT TRUST rentalcars.com
You will find yourself like so many others (including myself) completely out of pocket and without a rental car! Disgusting customer service that does not take you seriously & that's if you're lucky enough to get a hold of anyone. Today alone, I've received the same email response 3 times to different queries. This business does not issue invoices or have any accountability and has seen so many people forfeit their entire rental fee regardless of the circumstances. I'm out of pocket $1200 for a said booking and now having to fork out even more than that for an additional booking with a different rental agency that does meet my needs. Rentalcars.com didn't even offer to assist me another booking?!

I've booked a car for 2 days and when I presented myself to the agency they were not able to give a car.
I was a bit late but it wasn't possible to get someone on the phone to say that I was on my way.
Anyway the car was already booked and payed.

Rentalcar did not consider my request of refund
Just an awful service client quality

I had reserved and paid for a car a month in advance from rentacar. Just before I was to pick it up, my credit card was hacked and cancelled. I offered to cover the deposit with cash or debit cards but rentacar refused and cancelled my reservation with no refund. They did offer me some alternatives but I couldn't act on these without a credit card. Now my weekend is ruined and I have no idea if I'll ever see my money back. Disgraceful.

We rented a car in Iceland for our son and his 2 friends. We paid $96 for the ins coverage and believed we paid for 2 extra drivers fora total of $770 for 8 days online to book the reservation. When they picked the car up they asked for a credit card and one of the friends gave their card….then was told to sign a form in the Icelandic language.
They had a great trip and loved Iceland.when they returned the car a change of $348.99 went on the friend's card. When they got home I called to say we already paid for the insurance and extra drivers. They said the extra drivers were not covered and since my son didn't use his credit card they charged $261 for insurance…we ALREADY had full insurance coverage for $96! They WILL not reimburse use the $261 but said they would refund the $96 because the form was signed on site! We will see if the refund comes through.
The rental agreement listed the fact that we already had insurance and it was deceptive to have them sign a form in a foreign language for insurance we already had! In total we paid $1019.99 because of their deceptive practices….others rates were in the $650-$750 range but this rental was a slightly larger sedan. BUYER BEWARE!

Boy, where do I start. We where having a father/son trip around Europe on motorbikes as I had not seen my dad for over 3 years when we had one of our motorbikes stolen on Naples. Because of this we had to quickly sort out a one way rental car to get back home asap, sadly this booking was through rentalcars.com. When we arrived at Avis they did not accept the form of ID given (our bad) and informed us that we had to contact rentalcar.com to sort out putting another driver name on the policy. We got onto them and asked to put our second diver on the policy - to which they said that we would have to cancel the current booking and then create a new booking under the new driver name, then wait over 2 hours for that booking to go through to then pick up the car - which we had to agree to. Finally when going through this process the lady on the line then informs us that they DO NOT have a single car available for our allotted time period (even though we were lead to believe they did. And through talking to Avis they did have several of our exact cars available) and that we would have to wait for even longer or hang up and book another car online? As what she can see versus what's on line is different? Like what? Anyway as we were quickly running out of time and rentalcars.com were being no help we had to cancel. Now due to the fact we did not even step foot in a rental car and we had to cancel as they could not provide a car for us it was a bit of a rude shock when we were informed that they would only be refunding 1 out of the 4 days even though they could not provide us a car. Taking 900 euro for effectively doing nothing (must be the most profitable business model I've ever heard of), especially in a time of need. We have called them several times trying to reason with them to get a greater refund to no avail (they basically tell you to sod off). We will never be using rentalcars.com again.

I booked a car rental through this company where the provider was B-Rent in Milan. When arriving to B-Rent's offices I was requested to present an "International Permit", document that is not mentioned anywhere during the booking process (see a screenshot of the specific requirements for this provider). At B-Rent I was told that the refund needs to be requested from Rentalcards and they gave me the phone number. I made 8 attempts to contact Rentalcars, all ending with an automatic disconnection upon selecting the right option in from the voice menu.
I contacted Rentalcars via email including proofs that the document is not mentioned and they denied any responsibility ("We follow the provider's policy".
Bottom line: I lost the full amount of the rental fee.
Curiously, after understanding that I was wasting my time at B-Rent, I walked 50 meters to a different provider and got a car with no difficulties of any kind.
My recommendation is: STAY AWAY from Rentalcars!

Very disappointed

Last Friday the company let us down without car and support. We came to UK for a funeral our flight got delayed by 2h in the middle of the day, When we arrived at the pickup point at 5pm. The rental company said wouldn't pick us up because the rentalcar.com has cancelled our booking, calling both companies back forward both said they could do anything and still charge for the booking, extremely frustrating. We had to go to Hertz to get a expensive last minute car.

When we landed in SFO we were told they didn't actually have any cars, but would add us to the queue. I was told we'd have at least one hour to wait, but they couldn't guarantee a car that night. They also said I'd have to accept any car that came along - even though I had a large amount of photo equipment. The people at the counter directed me to Hertz, who quickly accommodated us for over twice the price. Rentalcars.com refused to refund my payment of over $670.00. When I called they connected me to a chatbot who insisted they couldn't do anything until I returned the car. Of course there was no car to return. Today i was told they will look into it and get back to me in 28 days - or, if necessary, longer than that. Never again!

Very bad experience

I payed for a car in Tirana airport through this company and because I was later the time I supposed to pick up the car the flight was delayed when I got at the car rental office they told me because you are late the car is not available any more,, the car was payed for,,they didn't offer me another car,, I try to contact them nothing,, they had cancelled a car I had pay,, they do refund,, after I called them so many times they refund some of my money,, they charged me £70 for nothing,, this company is run by crooks,, Better pay more money to someone else and you know you get the car,, with this company you loose your money

Everytime I work with this company, I face a problem. It is better to avoid them for your mental well-being. Today, I could not pick up the car (because of a reson that the car rental copmany did not write to its contract) and rentalcars does not refund to me. Instead they ask me to make another payment to just make a partial refund. This company is unreasonable, will never use it again.

On 6/13/2023 I flew into CLT. Went to Budget to get my car. They were very busy, and had to wait for a dozen or so people ahead of me. The were short of serviced cars and just started pulling cars from the return line. The car I received was dirty, with a bug splattered windshield. It was also on empty. I went ahead anyway an excepted the car. When driving off the lot I showed the check-out gal that the gas gauge was on empty. She stamped my paperwork and told me to show it to the check-in person upon return. Upon return I showed my paperwork to the check-in person, she acknowledged that she made the corrections. Within minutes, I received an email receipt that included $127 for returning the car on empty. I then walked back to the check-in gal, showed her the receipt and she said she didn't know how to adjust it. She suggested I go to the rental counter to get it fixed. The rental counter person verified everything and said she made the fuel adjustment. Never happened! Now I'm dealing with customer service via the telephone and emails. I'm sure I'll get my refund eventually but it's a shame what Budget and their employees put you through. I thing I'll use Hertz in the future.

I booked a car through their app which has my details. I added an additional driver. The voucher came under the name of the additional driver. I tried to use the app to amend or cancel without success. I called to cancel but they would not cancel as I am not the main driver. I could not pick up my car as I am not the main driver. I was charged almost 1400 $ for a car I never used. I tied to get refund without success. It is a scam!
