Has partners who engage in fraudulent misrepresentation; I've been trying to open a case with them to resolve the issue for 12 days and literally every single day they tell me to follow Steps X, Y, Z on their website to start a claim, I try every time but it's impossible because their website is dysfunctional. I inform them of that, and they reply (paraphrasing): "Sorry for the difficulty. Please try Steps X, Y, Z" (yes, the exact same steps I've already been told to follow multiple times, have tried and failed multiple times, and have told them it doesn't work multiple times). I'm not sure if it's an autobot replying or a person given that I get a reply every day but it's an incompetent reply, but in any case they are insufferable. I'll end up requesting a chargeback from my credit card company because I'm getting nowhere with this so-called company. I already reported the fraudulent partner to the attorney general, and it seems that I'll need to do the same again.

The worst experience ever

I rented a car through Rentalcars (the provider was Drivalia). No car was available when we came to Drivalia and Rentslcars did not take any responsibility. Instead of paying 200 euro for the car I had reserved I hade to pay 1200 euro to get a car from another provider. I will never use Rentslcars agin and have also informed my firm that no employee may use them. Absolute a fraud company so watch out and stay away

If you arrive late to the car pickup location you will find that they have canceled your reservation and pocketed 100% of the fee and will not give you a refund or apply it to a new reservation. STAY AWAY

I lost my booking money

I lost my booking money. My credit card, working everywhere else in the same days, was refused at the point of collection machines. Unable then pick up the car, on the phone the customer service tells me that will cancel the reservation and I recommend to open then complaint attaching evidence. Many days later, I discover that the reservation has not even been cancelled yet. Finally despite filing the complaint, attaching all receipts of denied credit card transactions (but authorized by my bank), I only got back the money of the insurance and not of the reservation. The customer service was very bad, waiting for a month between a message and a reply, many operators who asked what the problem was despite having already described everything from the beginning in writing. Poorly organized service or maybe too well planned? A scam? I absolutely do not recommend.

We haven't received any payback yet. It has been 17 days that we returned the car. I have never have such problem with other companies. I will certainly not recommend this company to anyone. Their explanation was not enough and didn't satisfy. I have all rights to write about this awful experience to online comments in every car hire platform..

Deceive clients

10/22/23 I came to the ok mobility office in Seville. The employee refused to rent me due to the technical impossibility of writing off the security deposit of 1,150 euros. The reason for this impossibility is unknown, since the terminal does not provide any information, it just writes an error. An OK Mibility employee contacted Rentalcars. After which they promised to connect me with a Rentalcars employee who spoke Russian. For half an hour I listened to music waiting for an answer. No one answered the phone. As a result: they did not return the money for renting a car or for insurance, nor did they give me a car, thereby leaving me without money and a car. For two days no one contacted me.

Totally scams. Don't use they stolen my money

We arrive on time and said there are no vehicle available at the moment and refused to cancel the booking and said you can contact them throughout email and after i contact them they refused to refund my amount...

I rented a car at Rome airport via Rentalcars.com in September. The car type ordered was Nissan Juke or similar, and the price was €400 for two weeks, not including the full insurance cover, to be purchased on Rentalcover.com. The car hire company providing the car would be OKMOBILITY.

At the rental desk the representative told me that they will give me a car which, in his words, cannot carry three people with air conditioning on.

Despite my insistence to get the car I ordered, I was told that if I wanted a car which could carry three people with air conditioning on, I needed to take an upgrade.

There was quite a crowd of renters at all rental companies' desks around and a line of people behind me, and I was in a hurry, so I couldn't change my rental to another company or start looking for Rentalcars.com support phone number, so I took an upgrade. This cost me another €385.

After the rental was over, I asked Rentalcars.com for a refund, but my request was dismissed, because I didn't contact their representative in real time.

Dont touch these guys with a bargepole,They quote prices which are vastly different when you get to the car hire company.The business is generally full of thieves but these are middlemen who will take your money and not return it if you change your mind

When we arrived to pick up our car, the office was closed. The only solution was to cancel our booking and get a refund.
We had to travel to a whole different city to find a car and paid a lot of extra money to save our holiday because of this $#*!-up by Rentalcars.com.

And after all this, they are refusing to give me my refund.
Avoid at all costs!

I rented a car in Montego Bay, Jamaica through Rentalcars.com. They confirmed a low rate and that was it. My flight was late on that day and I attempted to cancel the reservation and they received the cancellation. When I arrived in Montego Bay, I contacted them and was informed that the rental charge was double what was quoted - so I did not pick up the car as this was clearly a bait-and-switch operation. Three days later they said they could not cancel the reservation and were billing me for the entire week. I have since disputed this transaction with my credit card company. Do not do business with this company - they are not reputable and indulge in a bait-and-switch operation

Horrendous experience

Booked car through Rentalcars.com for holiday in Gran Canaria Las Palmas, on the cumbersome and confusing website and fields on search ended up defaulting to La Palma Airport, Canary Islands instead of Las Palmas Airport (on Gran Canaria). Reserved with AMEX. When arrived turned out it had defaulted to wrong location. Had to phone Rentalcars.com to cancel and rebook, told had to rebook over phone to get refund (would take 7 days) and had to stay on phone while processed. Had to rebook online. When went to the Hire desk after 2 hour wait the hire company refused AMEX so insisted on taking a full deposit over £1000 from my bank account using a debit card immediately. On returning 10 days later to UK after hols told my £1000+ deposit will still take up to 30days to have returned and the refund for the other booking still had not started to be processed and would take another 7 days after the holiday. Customer service unwilling to help. Never again.

Booked a car at the Albuquerque Airport. Had to pay in advance. When I arrived, there were no cars available. Two hours later, there were still no cars available and a line of people waiting. The Manager informed me that my reservation does not guarantee me a car, only the right to wait for one to be returned. He/She said that they would stay open until everyone was served, which was not acceptable to me. We had words and they told me my business was not welcome. Of course the cancellation fee was the entire rental amount. DO NOT RENT FROM RENTALCARS.com

Prepaid on a rental and never got credit for the rental at the SIXT.pt on a recent trip to Portugal. Had to pay twice for the car. Stay away and book directly regardless of the potential savings. Lost $636.

I booked a car at Malaga Airport through RentalCars. When I arrived at the location, I learned that it was closed between 11pm-7am and didn't have the after-hours drop-off options. Since my return flight was leaving early in the morning, I wouldn't be able to return the car and ended up not picking it up.

I was expecting a refund since I didn't just capriciously change my mind, but was simply unable to use the rental and never picked it up. RentalCars charged me the cancellation fee equal to 3 days of rental regardless. I filed a claim, which was rejected. Be very careful with this company. If they get you, they will take advantage of you.

No Customer Service

3 hour wait at San Jose Airport due to Dollar Rental having no cars. Dollar stated it is due to RentalCars.com overbooked without checking inventory.
Tried to speak to a Rentalcars.com manager or supervisor but no one came to the phone. Stated it is their policy not to have them speak on the phone.
Asked how to file a complaint, stated I had to wait until the rental was completed. There is no way to submit a complaint immediately.
Gave no compensation for the 3 hour delay.
I will never use Rentalcars.com again or Priceline.com which according to Dollar is the same.
