You would have to specifically design a system to be able to compete with the astounding INCOMPETENCE of this company.
# times I have used them ( or used by Amazon on my behalf) and 3 times they seriously bungled the delivery.
ALL 3 times they failed to deliver the first try... each time NOT RINGING THE DOORBELL... I live in a 3 story house so knocking lightly won't get the job done... and that is precisely what the large doorbell is there for.
One of the 3 times they failed to deliver they left a notice... the other 2 times they simply walked away and I only knew they has apparently been there when I went to Amazon and discovered it was apparently ALREADY DELIVERED AT THE DOOR.
One of the three times I had to travel to the pick-up location and get it myself... the second time they found it and delivered it the next day but this time is the worst... now 3 days after the supposed delivery it is not here and the best they will promise is they are going to put a search on it and it WILL be found... WITHIN 2-3 DAYS.
Next time I'll complain to Amazon and request they send it by flying monkeys or on the back of a carrier Pigeon... ANYTHING BUT puro-LATE-r.
Unbelievably horrible company with the laziest and dumbest drivers. This is the 4th time in 6 months I have had stuff from Amazon say it is on the way and will be here and then get a message say to come back in 2 to 3 days. The lazy $#*! inbred drivers are too lazy to do their jobs. I was told by a guy on the phone who works for them that "hey everyone deserves a beer break and relax after a hard day" WTF? I know these morons have 0 education, but to tell a customer that is insane. If I did that on my job as an airline pilot "oh I don't feel like going to Miami today, we can do it in 2 or 3 days", I wouldn't have a job for very long. Fire these idiots and get someone who wants to work. We make a schedule to be home for these idiots so our stuff does not get stolen from our front step, and then they feel like they don't want to do their job. This is a brutal company and would never, ever, ever do business with on any level, why Amazon still does is beyond me.
There is no worse delivery service than Purolator.
After waiting 2 days for my cell phone, the first delay because of weather the second day because he never bothered to come to my address, he delivered it to one of their drop centers, but registered the delivery to an unknown address in my neighborhood, with a signature. Needless to say I thought the phone was stolen, went to this address, called customer service, and finally was told that the idiot had eventually dropped it off at their center. All wrong information, and I waited for nothing.
I avoid them at all costs, but when you order something on line, you don't always know what service they'll be using, until it's too late.
Purolator has got to be the absolute worst...
Purolator has continued to remain entirely unreliable. I have not received my package even though I was home ALL day waiting for it. Said it was delivered in the am... I sat here in my living room watching TV and staring STRAIGHT out my window. IT DID NOT COME HERE. And now they say, "well the computer says it was delivered so I can't help you". Great, thanks so much for the robbery of this pregnant lady. Don't know how anyone sleeps at night any more. I called to find out what is going on and they said they would follow up. I had to call back myself because they didn't get back to me. I also emailed numerous times. Not surprisingly this has happened with purolator before. One time they took a signature from an imposter who even spelled my last name incorrect (hello! The last name isn't spelled right!) and that $200 parcel was never resolved and I didn't get a refund so even a signature doesn't help! Another time they refused to deliver a package to my husband saying it was delivered and then when we said it was not, they responded with: "Oh, maybe it fell beneath or inbetween the seat..."; the package was a part for a weight lifting set which would be larger than a jumbo box of cereal... fell beneath the seat my left foot. And they never did deliver that package either... "It fell between the seats, sorry can't help you" is what we were told. What is going on in the minds of these criminals. This company is seriously mismanaged. I am so done with it. I have fully understood why so many family and friends have told us to never use purolator. And now, because of my frequent inability to see the negative in people and companies I have been taken advantage of by purolator too many times. I have had enough just like most people I know have also. It's sad that the standard Canada post is more reliable than this company. I know this comment will fall on deaf ears because too many of the employees in this company simply don't care about their customers and it's simply a job, not a service they provide as evidenced by the amount of people who "tried but can't" help. I understand one mistake or mishap, but every time I use purolator? That's a crazy coincidence or it could be that this company's management has its head up it's own rump.
Ordered from Amazon Prime
Waited home for delivery, video security on showing lobby and front street. Then receive email from Amazon saying:
"Sorry we missed you. Purolator tried to deliver your package today but didn't want to leave it unattended.
Please look for a notice of attempted delivery or contact Purolator for the next steps."
Really? Look for a notice from a driver that video proves never drove down the street?
And customer service, "we'll attempt a second delivery",
If you can't manage it the first time what changed other than it's not the Saturday of a long weekend and the driver wants to get home that it's suddenly going to be become possible to deliver the second time?
Bluntly the drivers lie and the Company chooses to accept that as acceptable in order to maximize revenue.
If I could give ZERO stars I would.
They seem unable to find my house.
Someone is home 24/7 and they ROUTINELY say that the delivery was refused because no-one was home.
The last one, they got my PH# wrong, so it sat at the depot for 2 weeks.
It got sent back, and when I tried to get them to bring it back, they said they would AND THEN THEY DIDN'T.
THEY HAVE ONE JOB. They can't seem to figure it out.
This is the worst Courier Service ever for sure.
I have been waiting at home for an item to be delivered all day and I have been keeping a track on it on their website and also the app.
Today, after 1:00 pm, I decided to contact them directly using Live Chat and was told then that the Item would be delivered until 6:00 pm today.
A little past 4:00 pm, I checked the status again and was baffled to see that it was marked with "Attempted delivery at 12:30 pm".
Contacted them by phone only to be told that the driver attempted the delivery, which he did not, and that he might be able to try to deliver it again later today. No specific time as it can be delivered until 8:00 pm.
This is definitely the worst Courier I have ever dealt with, and this is not the first time it happens.
On another occasion, I saw the Purolator truck stop in front of my building while I was on my balcony and the driver only took a notice with him to stick on the door. I ran to the door but it was too late and I was forced to go and pick-up the item at the drop-off location.
This is the type of company that does not deserve to be in business as they charge their clients for a specific delivery method and then they just do as they please.
What a joke of a company...
And, unfortunately, I am forced to give them 1 star in order to have this posted.
This package sat at a depot in Penticton for 2 weeks. I do not live it Penticton and I cannot pick up the package there. I made this very clear to the person at the depot in Penticton on December 29th. I specifically told them that I wanted the package delivered to my house and I made sure they had the correct address. 2 weeks later they still had not delivered it. Furthermore, I spoke with Melisa L on a Purolator chat line on January 10th. She told me the package would be delivered on the 11th. The package was not delivered and the tracking report said it was due to weather. This is the same excuse used 2 weeks earlier. The weather had been very mild for the last 2 weeks. On January 11th there was a temperature of -4 C and light snow. This can be confirmed by Environment Canada. The roads are plowed every day and have been very good. For Purolator to claim a delay due to weather, not once, but twice is nothing but a pure lie. In the end I told them to send it back. They never did deliver the package. How can such a company stay in business?
THE WORST, most confused company I believe have ever dealt with.
I don't normally review anything as I'm a live and let live kind of guy but the standard here was the lowest I have ever seen and felt I needed to warn anyone that was not aware.
I cannot believe they are still in business.
I arrived at the door about two minutes after initial delivery was attempted. Found the door knocker and contacted customer service immediately, I was told it was not possible to contact driver and have them retry even though it was only 6-9 minutes after the attempt.
OK, not great service but I understand.
Was told it was available for pick up next day.
Went to pick it up (an hour's drive) and was told it had gone out again for redelivery. Drove home and waited only for nothing to arrive.
Called customer service next day, Saturday - was told it had been placed on the wrong truck and had not arrived back at the pickup area yet.
Was 'promised' delivery would be reattempted on Monday.
Monday, waited in again, checked online and it didn't seem to be out for delivery - called customer service again and was told a mistake had been made yet again and they were sorry but "ABSOLUTELY PROMISED" redelivery would be attempted the following day, Tuesday.
Went online early Tuesday to see the package had gone out for delivery. Relief.
Checked back a couple of hours later to see if I could get a better estimate of delivery time only to find it had now been delivered to the pickup area.
Totally confused, I called customer service only to be told it was available for pickup.
Is this a real company? You would have to work incredibly hard to be as inept as this, surely?
Never ever gain will I use or buy anything from anyone that uses purolator as their delivery source.
I have to agree with a previous post. This company is the worst courier company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Web site indicated goods on truck for delivery, I phoned customer service twice about delivery They couldn't tell me while I was talking to them that the truck had broken down insisting the goods would be delivered by 8pm 13 hours later the web site was updated indicating a technical problem so no delivery. No calls, no emails, no apologies nothing.
Next day same thing, spent the day waiting for delivery which never happened. They don't deliver Sat and Sun so Mon will be the first day it can be delivered
Customer service told me they couldn't tell me where the truck was, they couldn't phone the driver, couldn't tell me time my goods would arrive. Really not surprised because it didn't arrive.
This is a courier company but they don't work weekends, the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
So I am still waiting for my package, I probably won't get it Monday. So I spent 3 days hanging around the house for nothing. Despite the huge errors made by this company absolutely no attempt made to correct the situation.
They just don't give a toss. How they are still in business amazes me, if they carried on like this in the USA they would have gone out of business years ago
Stay away from these people at all costs
Purolator is a pathetic little Canadian courier company. If you want your package to be lost, stolen and delayed, they are the courier of choice. Remember Jim Carrey's portrayal in Ace Ventura? He must have learned his schtick from these incompetents.
I have had four time-sensitive packages in a row delayed or lost by this company. They are very creative in their excuse making. The first time I was told my package was delayed by a storm. Trouble was, it was summer in Canada and there were no storms anywhere in the country. Next time, I was told the delay was due to "mechanical problems on their plane". Do they really only own one plane with no mechanics, or do they use flying Pterodactyls à la Flintstones?
This morning, they couldn't be bothered to deliver my perishable prescription medication, so instead of looking up my name on the buzzer panel in my building, they just refused to deliver and left. I called and gave them the buzzer code and was promised they'd deliver it again today. Hours later the tracking info showed that they still didn't have the buzzer code so I called again and was told "we couldn't send the message to the driver". Really? You don't have radios in your trucks, or cell phones?
Do not do business with this company or any company that uses them as a courier. You will regret it - believe me.
So far its taken 2 weeks to get a package delivered within the same province! And it cost $20 more than canada post.
They also conveniently suspend the delivery gaurantee when they get busy.
Poor business practices don't use unless you have NO other choice... seriously try a carrier pigeon first!
My nomination for worst customer service ever goes to Purolator Courier of Canada. I called them to have a large package picked up in Canada and brought to me in the U.S. I requested Ground Service at $57, because Express was around $400. Before I hung up, I double-checked "That's going to be Ground service, right?" and was assured it would be.
When the driver went to pick up the package, he did not communicate any of this information. He made the sender fill out the waybill, which does not display an option for Ground Service. Instead it reads "U.S. Deferred", which is Purolator secret code for Ground. After the sender checked off Express service by mistake, he didn't correct them.
Now Purolator is claiming the waybill has precedence over my phone request, even though they knew it was a mistake. I can't afford $400 for a shipment, so I refused receipt of the package. They are returning it to the sender and are going to try to bill the sender for the return. How are these people still in business?
This is a very good alternative to Canada post, for shipping within Canada. It is much faster than Canada post. It also ships to many international destinations that American postal companies like UPS and Fedex don't ship.
Answer: Same answer, NO I CAN'T say anything good about the worst shipper in Canada if not the world.
Answer: Dont bother. Train your people how to use doorbell. Common sense is not so common. If Canada post, Fedex and UPS can, why cant PuroLATER or PuroNEVER use the doorbell? During these hard times, the lease you can do is deliver the package in the most sensible way. Do it right the first time. If others can, why cant you? We need our packages and not your promises. Your company is a big joke. Modern pirates of our age.
Answer: Might as well be a scam. They cannot perform what they say they can.
