Disgusting Company Don't give them your business

If you are lucky enough to recieve a pair of glasses from this company you have done very well for yourself. I have basically been waiting for a refund now for over a month having phoned and emailed them numerous times. Your basically given any number of excuses why your order cant be completed. Here are some from the various emails cut and pasted.

"the lenses were damaged during the fitting process and are currently being remade"

"frame you have selected was found damaged, unfortunately this was the last frame in stock"

"We have forwarded your details to our accounts team to recheck for the refund and have informed them to process a refund on priority"

I have made the mistake of placing 2 orders with this company of which they have been unable to deliver either one. This particular order is now over 45 days old and cannot be persued through paypal as i didnt open a dispute in time (foolishly I excepted their excuses. Don't make the same mistake as me)and so i will have to make my claim in small claims court. My second order is presently in dispute with paypal to which i recieved a comment from the company that they had been dispatched and i would recieve them in 1 - 2 days. Of course you have guessed it I'm still waiting.

notsoperfectglasses.co.uk

I live in France so ordered the glasses in perfect time so that I could pick them up on a trip to the UK, the glasses never turned up.
17 days after the payment was taken notsoperfectglasses.co.uk e-mailed me saying there was a problem, could I resend the prescription which I did. I also asked them to let me have a cost to mail them to France because I had now returned home, they asked for a shipping address and I gave them my French address. They mailed them to the original UK address.

Late October one of the nose pads fell off somewhere so I e-mailed notsoperfectglasses.co.uk saying, to save both me and you the mail cost of returning the complete glasses, could they pop a nose pad in the post and I would fit it.

The reply was yes, but I will need to pay the postage, I replied that the glasses were barely 2 months old and that they were still in warranty.
notsoperfectglasses.co.uk would not budge on the mail issue. I copied them a section of the Sales of Goods Act that states "the supplier bears any necessary costs including postage to repair faulty goods.

notsoperfectglasses.co.uk wrote back to say that online transactions are governed by the Distance Selling Act, and that the glasses do not carry any warranty, nor does their website claim that they do. I wrote back to say that the Distance Selling Act states that it is in addition to your other legal rights, including guess what The Sale of Goods Act.

That's when they stopped replying to my E-mails, my last e-mail today bounced back saying their mail server is full.

Customer loyalty can be enhanced when a company takes a complaint and deals with it effectively, in this case sadly not so. I buy about 1 pair of glasses a year, never again from notsoperfectglasses.co.uk.

Not good, took 3 months to complete mu order. Lost one pair of glasses by their courier, didn't bother to tell me. Would not refund me, which i think must be against the sale of goods act. Said i had to order an alternative as they were no longer made, so i did, only to find out after a month that my prescription would not work with the glasses ordered. Eventually told them to send me any frame of their choice that would work. Glad i never have to deal with them ever again.

Terrible company who just steal your cash and deliver crap IF your lucky that is... I ordered reading glasses and received the wrong prescription in return, they were sent right back to refund under their alleged No Quibble Refund option - ha what a joke that is total scam organisation based from a house in London, and a call centre in bloody India to make this bunch of thieves look like a big boy outfit - my guess is they are India based, the pool third world copy lenses and plastic knock off frames are NOT right, I have asked for a refund via them and now Paypal and have today reported this scamboy outfit to trading standards in London because IF this is a legit business UK based, then they should be bloody ashamed of themselves

The glasses came after 9 working days. I was advised to wait 3-5 working days but I can handle that. Here's the hmmm bit... As soon as I placed the order I received an email with the following...

"We have received an update from our laboratory informing us that we have received your order for a pair of rimless glasses for distance use.

As you have selected standard lenses our laboratory has suggested you to upgrade the lenses to polycarbonate (unbreakable) lens.

These lenses are recommended for rimless glasses and come with a year's replacement warranty however there is an additional charge of £25.00 to upgrade the lenses as advertised on our website.

As an exception our laboratory has offered a discount and have advised that we can upgrade the lenses to polycarbonate at a minimum cost of £20.00 for the prescription updated online.

We request you to please reply to this email with an authorization to upgrade the lenses so that we can send you an invoice for the additional charge and process your order with polycarbonate lenses".

My god, the trouble I had to say NO! I pointed out the laboratory must have been very lack that Saturday, to read and send my order back so quick. Sounds like a bit of hard sell to me.

They did phone me and say - no problem, I can have the ones I ordered (then into soft sell) - they were just trying to help!

Stick to your guns!

The Glasses are okay, they are what I expected, and are of a quality I imagined considering the price I paid.

Delivery was advised by text and email and glasses delivered on time.

Summary: Okay...
May 9, 2012

Summary: Okay... but be very careful! Little bit dodgy.

I got what I ordered after three weeks. They take an incredibly long time to deliver glasses. Also, don't give them your main email because they appear to either sell your email to other vision companies, or use their sister websites to spam you. You can expect to get several emails a week from a range of companies after signing up, even if you didn't request it.

I have used this company three times for re-glazing existing frames and, apart from the long 28-day wait, was reasonably happy with the results, esp as they are cheaper than most.

Complete rip-off of a company. The lenses are not made to any acceptable standard, the 'designer' frames are either seconds or fakes, you will not be happy with your glasses, and will fail to get a refund, or even a reply to emails.

My new glasses lasted just two wearings, second time a plastic clip departed from arm. Contacted PG's told to return, I did. Email from them saying broken to fair wear and tear but would replace for a further £40. Declined and asked for return of glasses and stated that I was a little disappointed in their response as it was just a plastic clip that had popped out. Return email from them saying that I should get them repaired by my local optician and glasses would be sent within the next 1-2 days. After 2 weeks phoned them as to ask where my glasses were, told will be sent tomorrow. Today, nearly a month later glasses returned... not repaired of course.
Steer well clear of this company, unless of course you have money to throw away.
I should have taken the advice of the TV advert "should have gone to Specsavers"

Don't use them!
August 16, 2011

Don't use them! The workmanship is rubbish and the customer service is non-existent. If you have ordered and want to return items get them sent signed for and keep the receipt! Then escalate a claim through paypal - it seems to be the only way to get your money back; that's what I did.

Unbelieveably poor
August 11, 2011

Unbelieveably poor. After lots of bad service, a request for a premium because my prescripion was so complex (something that my opticians over the last 33 years had neglected to mention), long waits, no refunds, back tracking and generally making life difficult, i got my glasses. A mere 6 weeks after placing the order and having paid.
Yesterday, after 6 weeks of wearing them, the frame snapped and cannot be repaired. Their customer service lady said that there would be no refund as this was due to normal wear and tear. I should point out that i am a rural mum, not given to wild parties or bear wrestling or anything else that in 6 weeks might be expected to break a pair of glasses. I now have a pair of lovely, ultra light, reactolite lenses that i cannot use and cannot refit to a frame.
I would have to conclude that any positive reviews must be false. The internet is littered with reviews stating similar problems to mine, and if i could give this company a negative rating, i would. AND IT WOULDN'T TAKE ME 6 WEEKS TO DO SO.

Wish i had read the reviews before ordering. Rubbish frames glass not even fitted in frames, promptly returned them for a refund, they have emailed but now they seem to have misplaced my return. Will report them to trading standards but will forget about refund thank god i did not spend much, they also tried to get extra cash for so called complex prescription. Avoid this company at all costs.

My experience with the company has been excruciating to say the least, and eventually led me to report them to the trading standards. Long story short, the company has absolutely no regard for quality and it is not a UK company as the website claims. There is no physical office at the address listed on the website. All correspondences are forwarded to an address in India. For those who are interested, here's a timeline of what happened:

1) April 7: placed order for one pair of designer glasses and another complimentary pair
2) April 22: in response to my email inquiry, replied that 'I can confirm that your order is ready and it will be dispatched within 2-3 working days'
3) April 28: still no sign of glasses and called customer service--was informed that the delay was due to glasses failing quality checks. (I thought the order was ready?)
4) April 30: three weeks after the order was placed, they decided to tell me that the complimentary pair was no longer in stock--'I regret to inform you that we are currently unable to fulfill the order you placed with us as we discovered that the frames you ordered, of which we had only 1 left in stock when you placed your order, are in a damaged condition and unfit for use.'
5) May 4: received the designer pair and the complimentary pair also came about a week later. Felt disorientation wearing them but thought it was normal since this was a new prescription.
6) June 1: finally gave up trying to get used to the new glasses and took them to my optician (should have done that earlier but I was busy with exams and I wear contact lenses during the day). Was told the pupillary distance was off by about 10mm. Sent the glasses back for replacement the next day.
7) June 30: after the usual delays, one of the replacement pair was received. To my consternation it was still off. This time the PD was off by 8cm. Not bad, just give them 4 more attempts and they will finally get it right
8) July 1: I went to their office address and only found a company that leases out mailing addresses. Asked the clerk and was told the forwarding address for perfectglasses is in India.

I have spoken to Consumer Direct and the company is currently being investigated by the Trading Standards.

I am pleased to have recieved my new varifocal glasses from them. Despite all the negative reviews that I read on the Internet, I can say that I have received excellent service from them. The glasses were packed very carefully and arrived in prime condition and I am very happy with the result. I have already recommended them to my friends and family.

Great glasses at less than half the price that I would have paid to any high street optician. The delivery did take a couple of weeks but I guess it was worth it. The quality was better than what I expected at that price.
