PartsGeek Reviews Summary

The company has garnered a predominantly negative reputation among customers, primarily due to significant issues with order accuracy and return processes. Many reviews highlight frustrations over receiving incorrect parts and the subsequent difficulty in obtaining refunds, with customers often bearing return shipping costs for errors not of their making. Additionally, the customer service experience is frequently described as inadequate, characterized by long wait times and unhelpful responses. While some customers noted prompt delivery of the correct items, the overall sentiment reflects a lack of reliability and support, leading to a strong recommendation to seek alternative suppliers.

I emailed this company twice before the "30 day" return policy was over about returning a part for exchange of one for another and they never responded to my request. Now I am stuck with a part that I do not need. I will never buy from this company again, they are in the category of "the worst of the worst" for customer care. Stay away from this company!

This is the worse online shopping experience I ever had. I ordered a tail light for my car, immediately upon delivery, I opened up the box and found it to be completely different than what I ordered. I looked for a phone number to call and report the error but there isn't one clearly marked on the website or email. There were instructions to submit a ticket, it was down all day. Finally, when it was up and running I submitted my complaint. I included a screenshot of the product I ordered from the website and a photo of what came in the box. Please note the box wasn't sealed properly nor included an invoice. I was worried the correct product fell out!
In response, the company stated they shipped the right part, and the picture wasn't a representation. I was to read the notes on the side. The pictured tail light was the outer portion of the tail light. They sent me the inner. This company is shady. There are a lot of fine prints. I have lost money because they shipped me the wrong part, and I am paying $20 to send it back. That makes $30 in total for shipping. The least they could have done was to pay for return shipping instead they are pretty defiant and feel that its ethical to falsely advertise to consumers.
I am writing to prevent other people from doing business with PartsGeek, please support other businesses. This was a waste of time and money.

Dissastisfied that they shipped the wrong part. Customer pays freight if they send wrong part.
May not seem like much, unless you order something heavy. Like a rack and pinion I ordered...

These Guy's are crooks
December 29, 2015

These clowns sent a defective part so I started the return process. In short they expect you to pay shipping, a restocking fee and wait 30 day's for a "possible" credit. Its a joke. I expect getting a refund is near impossible and just wasting time and money. I am having my bank go after these guys and will file a complaint with the FTC and the state.

Flat out Parts Geek is a totally dishonest business. Go to Rock Auto.

Ordered Fuel Pump Hanger assembly for my 1999 Ford Ranger. As advertised and pictured says and shows the entire unit including the fuel pressure sensor. Upon receipt the fuel pressure sensor is missing but a tag attached says I must use my old one. Parts Geek will not make this right. Says I can return the part but I pay shipping which will cost close to half the product purchase price. What a process they have going for themselves getting rich off of trusting customers. NEVER USE PARTS GEEK.
Homer with Partsgeek called me and wanted to know about my problem. When I informed him that the part I received was not as advertised he informed me that " Partsgeek does not have the time to open and check all packages supplied by their distributors". Excuse Me, I thought I was buying from Partsgeek. When I suggested that they send me the pressure sensor to solve the problem, i was quickly told " we cannot do that". I wonder why? It would be cheaper than them picking up and returning the part, that they agreed they would do. Still leaves me with nothing and having to start the process all over. At this point, I'll just suck it up and order the pressure sensor and as stated NEVER USE Partsgeek AGAIN.

When Parts Geek sent the wrong part. I had to pay the postage both ways, then a 15% restocking fee for their mistake. So my net refund on a $37.98 wrong part was about $7, and they get to sell the part again. So it's actually profitable for them to send wrong parts. The one I got came in a scuffed and obviously pre-opened box, so they may have "sold" it several times, collecting 15% each time. When I called customer service, the first operator disconnected me right after I said hello. Then, after waiting on hold again for a long time, the second operator referred to the wrong part on the invoice and blandly insisted that I ordered a part for a car I don't own. This company is, by far, the worst online business I have ever dealt with. Forget the good reviews--if they make a mistake (and from the fine print and their return policies, they must make a lot of mistakes), you will lose most of your money as I did.

I recently ordered 2 gas tanks for my 1985 chevy silverado. I received the tanks without the gasket needed for installation. I called parts geek and told them of my problem. They informed me, that i would have to send back both the gas tanks back, to get my gaskets for my tanks. I will not use this company again. Note i am a very unhappy customer. Parts geek do you understand that it is the customer... like me that keeps you in business? You as a company need to make this right, until then i will do everything in my power to spread the word that this company is not about making the customer happy. Sighed very very unhappy customer!

Called to see what was happening. Put on hold for 15 minutes twice, and at the end, was given a busy signal twice. Now, a week later, no part, no customer service response, no money returned. Calling my credit card and having them go after the bastards.

This company does not stand behind their products and dealing with their "Customer Service" is like communicating via carrier pigeon. Submit a case... wait a couple of days... get a canned response... submit the SAME information again... wait a couple of days get a quick curt answer basically saying "You're screwed!"... reply asking for clarification... wait a couple of days... get a canned answer. In short, NEVER AGAIN!

BAD PART, WORSE SERVICE
October 20, 2015

Parts Geek sent a defective part, an electric driven unit that did not work. A quality outfit would have said oops, and taken care of the problem. Not Parts Geek. Remember, this was their bad! I paid for a functional part in good faith and only received trash. They never fulfilled their end of the bargain. Now to get a refund, they want me to pay for return postage and a restocking fee. That would be appropriate if this was a matter of MY choice to return something, but is not appropriate when they sent a non functioning part. When they send postage, I will return their trash if they want it. In the meantime, I have obtained a working part from a good source and do not need Parts Geek ever again.

Lacking Customer Service
September 30, 2015

Long story short:

Partsgeek sent me the wrong turn-signal bulb, so I had to send the bulb back since, as my invoice said, the part was for a mercedes, not the VW I drive.

Instead of resend the right bulb, their policy is to refund the price of the part, not reimburse shipping. So I was out $10 for shipping (yes, $10 to ship a bulb about the size of a pencil eraser), $3 to send it back, and then they don't send the right bulb, even though it was their fault!

As for customer service? If you do have a problem, don't expect a timely response let alone one that appears to be generated by an actual person.

But hey, if you're in the mood for an aggravating experience that will probably cost you more money that it's worth? Shop at PartsGeek.

Catalytic converter description blatantly says with O2 bung, but correct part numbered box says No O2 bung. Paying return shipping is more than having a bung welded on... No customer support number. Your better off buying from harbor freight than here.
