PartsGeek Reviews Summary

The company has garnered a predominantly negative reputation among customers, primarily due to significant issues with order accuracy and return processes. Many reviews highlight frustrations over receiving incorrect parts and the subsequent difficulty in obtaining refunds, with customers often bearing return shipping costs for errors not of their making. Additionally, the customer service experience is frequently described as inadequate, characterized by long wait times and unhelpful responses. While some customers noted prompt delivery of the correct items, the overall sentiment reflects a lack of reliability and support, leading to a strong recommendation to seek alternative suppliers.

Stay Away!
December 31, 2016

I ordered a part from Parts Geek, a part that does not fit my vehicle arrived. After doing some further investigation I found out that PartsGeek does not pay return shipping even is the Fault is theirs. I called customer service to let them know that this policy is costing them customers and that I would be purchasing from elsewhere. The response I got was an "oh well" attitude and a hurried attempt to get me off the phone. When I called back to complain about this customer service experience I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor was even more rude than the first customer service person that I spoke with. I asked who these customer service complaints are reported to, he said in my case since it was my fault nothing would be done. Even though I ordered the part their website recommended for my vehicle. When I asked for his name and his bosses number he was very rude, refused and hung up on me. My complaint Im sure was never even filed, and how is anything to get accomplished when the person giving bad service refuses to give you their bosses information? No accountability, horrible experience. Now Partsgeek refuses to do anything for me and I am stuck with a part that does me no good. Will have to reorder elswhere. Save yourself the headache buy elsewhere!

I ordered control arms for my 98 Chevy 3500, I searched for the item on their site and the ones I ordered showed up as a direct fit. When they arrived the control arms were 4 inches to small width wise and 3 inches too long length wise. Also in 98 Chevy 2500's and 3500's had torsion bars that slide into a hole in the lower control arms, the control arms that I received were set up for springs which were not an option in 98 for the heavy gvwr models.

I called to return the part and spoke with "John" who told me on the phone numerous times that when he went into partsgeek.com and put in my truck information a different part # showed up and that I would have to pay to have them shipped back since it was user error. I had already paid $50+ to have them 2 day shipped despite that fact that it still took a week and a half to arrive so I did not agree with this. I asked to speak with a supervisor. "John" put me on hold and then came back on the phone pretending to be someone else, the "supervisor". When I said you are the exact same person that I was just speaking with the background exploded with laughter and this person hung up on me.

I called back and immediately asked to speak with a supervisor. I was forwarded to "Adam". I started off by telling him what happened on the previous call, I said I don't know what kind of operation you are running over there but that is very unprofessional. Adam replied "You want to know what kind of operation we are running over here? We have been in business for 14 years, ship out over 10,000 parts per year, and have an international customer base. Good day sir" and hung up on me as well!

This company is very unprofessional and is run by a bunch of rude child acting employees. Paid extra for fast shipping arrived slower than ground service from any other company, wrong part delivered, will not back up their mistakes, rude employees across the board. Avoid at all costs

False advertising
December 15, 2016

Googled my 1993 ford ranger clutch master/slave clynder, partsgeek came up, $101.39(something like that), so I went to the site. The same photo came up with the discription clutch master/slave clynder and again the photo with the master and slave clynder, I ordered it when it came I noticed it did not have the slave clynder in it. I got ahold of partsgeek and they told me the kit did not come with it and it would cost me extra for it. I could have bought the complete set off another site for a few dollars more, not fifty and wait another week.

Partsgeeks are crooks, completed with false advertisement!

Big dent in one of my sidesteps when it arrived. They told me that because the package was accepted and had been opened, they will not replace the item. How was I supposed to know it was damaged?... It was inside a box! Total Crap!

The worst of the worst. A NJ scam operation following bad business practices and providing no customer service. They have over 600 Better Businss Bureau complaints. They didn't refund my money on a previous order for a part that I was told to refuse on delivery until I made two phone calls asking why no refund. This second order, I was sent a defective AC compressor that the auto shop didn't even install and rejected because the pulley made bearing noises. I spent a lot of time on several phone calls trying to get a return shipping label without success. I was given runarounds that the supervisor is out, they have to email the supervisor, you can't talk to him bec. He's in another bldg. Etc. I gave up and shipped it back at my $20 expense, and fully expect I won't get a refund without hounding them, and, maybe, not even then. Our local auto repair shop with a booming business will not use them or recommend them any more. PartsGeek is a crooked operation and custmermservice is a hassle and a joke. More like, CUSTOMER NO SERVICE! Try Rock Auto, instead.

I ordered some brake rotors, an axle assembly and a vacuum pump for my vehicle from this site and they were all listed for my model vehicle. When received it was obvious that the rotors and axle assembly were NOT going to fit my car. Even though they were listed to match my year model vehicle they were not the right parts. I asked for a return number to try to recover what I spent on the parts only to be told to ship them to New Jersey when they were shipped to me from Glendale, CA. I live in San Diego, CA and having to ship them to NJ made it so it wasn't cost effective to return them. I am out over $200 for parts that were listed on this site as matching my vehicle and they clearly did not. I WILL NEVER AGAIN ORDER PARTS FROM THIS SITE AND RECOMMEND NO ONE DOES!

This Place is CRIMINAL
September 14, 2016

I am still waiting on my refund from this company. I sent the part back on September 2. I gave a few extra days for the holiday. Now note that I did not get the full refund when I sent the part back the first time. Try to reorder with customer service again, only to get the same part again. This time I was told that the company that they were getting parts from didn't make them right. Your company should check and double check parts before you sip them. You are responsible for your company's errors. Why should a consumer have to pay anything, when the mistake is yours. I would like for someone from this company to contact me so this issue can be resolved. You are making your money ripping off the consumer by charging taxes and shipping cost, because from what I have read, your parts and service is POOR.

I placed an order for which they charged me $8.96 for shipping. When I got the part it was used and wasn't the one they had on the picture. And the nightmare started for me, I had to contact them in order to get an authorization to be able to return the part I was emailing back and forth with their Refund dept (over a week) which even asked me for pictures where you were able to see that the part was all scratch up, however they said It wasn't enough proof for them to pay for refund. I had to pay $44.46 to refund the part and when they gave me the refund they only did it for the part not including what I have paid them for shipping 8.96. I lost more than $50.00 on this. I had never had to pay this much to refund something and never had to get authorization to be able to return anything that I have order online and I do order a lot online. Will never order from here again and will not recommend this website to anyone

I enter make, year, and model for my car. I ordered parts that came up on website. When they arrived, they are completely different. Parts geek will allow return, but with $80 shipping that I have to pay. Read the fine print. They do not cover return shipping, even if it is their mistake. Customer service guy was rude. There are plenty of other parts company that care about their reputation. Avoid parts geek like the plague.

I originally order a part that turned out to be defective. I had to return it and they sent me a shipping label to return it, no questions asked. I reordered the same part and was sent the wrong one. When I asked for a shipping label they stated that they don't provide them, which is inconsistent with my first order experience. Communication has been ongoing for several days with no resolution. Their customer service is poor, they send defective and wrong parts and don't own up to their mistakes. Never again will I order from them and make sure others son't as well. Avoid the hassle, save yourself time and money and go elsewhere!

Missing parts
August 24, 2016

I order a part from geek parts geek parts used FedEx to ship the part to me. Well to make a long story short Geek parts/FedEx stated the package was delivered on a Tuesday 8/23/2016, but my first email from geek parts said it would be delivered on Thursday 8/25/2016. Well the packaged was never located not I am having to go between geek parts and FedEx to locate or find out what happen to my order. But the only thing Geek parts would say is I can order another part. (Really) (?) I don't have money like that. I went to the web sight because I was told the parts are cheaper. But if I order a new one I would be paying what the part cost at AutoZone and other places. Please I need a little help and understanding. I don't have the extra money to just keep buying parts that are lost by the shipping that Geek parts chose

Ordered a left hand trim part for my daughters car and it arrived with proper paperwork. When I finally had access to my daughters car the part that was in the box was the mirror image of the part I needed, and was in fact the right side piece. I immediately contacted Parts Geek customer service and was told it was past 30 days and return authorization was not allowed. An expensive lesson to say the least. Never will I buy from Parts Geek.

August 12, 2016

My order was supposed to arrive Aug 1st. After numerous emails a missing package claim was filed Aug 8th. I was told within 30 days I'll get a refund or receive my package. No immediate refund or offer for a replacement part. After posting a review was told it would be handled by the end of the day. Still waiting. AVOID PARTSGEEK.COM at all costs.

I ordered a pair of Skyjacker Leaf Springs and only received one. The shipping ticket stated "1 of 1" The website picture showed two springs, the part number was correct for a pair of springs and most importantly the price was for two springs. The cost, $368.79, is for two springs. PartsGeek advertises one spring for around $180.00. No phone number to call, only emails which they responded to with " We are looking into this matter and will get back to you within 48 hours." Day three and I'm still waiting. Funny how they will instantly debit your bank account but creep along with anything else. STAY AWAY If they show any skills at correcting this problem I will gladly post a statement saying so.

My first mistake: Not reading these reviews. My second mistake: Not checking locally for my part. Third mistake: Ordering a heavy part from Parts Geek LLC. Master cylinder for my 1970 C-10 cost about $60, with shipping. Sending it back (when I discovered I really needed a new brake booster) was $21. A local retailer might have charged a few dollars more for this part, but at least I would have recovered all or most of my money if I needed to walk it back to the parts counter. Try a local source first, then go online. And read customer reviews on an independent site first, before buying. Don't rely on the business site's reviews.
