The user interface is almost deceptive and difficult to use. You cannot tell what needs to be edited from what is decorative text. There is no consistent use of style to indicate text boxes, buttons, radio buttons or check boxes. Items jump around with no explanation. There appears to be no simple clear roadmap of the process so the user is confident of where they are in the process, let alone what is taking place. It took me 6 attempts to get a text message to complete a verification step. They were all sent to the same telephone number. I've never seen this problem before this interaction. The Selfie system never worked. I literally ran out of attempts. Each one said the lighting was too bright; even in a dark room. After the selfie attempts were exhausted, I was sent to the interview. I waited about 5 to 10 minutes and the interviewer looked at me and said I was verified. It took all of 15 seconds. I will say the young man was very considerate.

It's an easy process setting up if you don't get ahead of the process. Once you've completed your initial setup the ease of use is very good. If an eighty year old man can figure it out then you have an easy solution.
Using ID.me was easy enough for me to get all I needed to sign back into my SSA account. The verification process made me feel like they really cared about my privacy and signing into my account.
I've been using IDM for a few years to access a few different sites, however, I just started using it to access the IRS site and there are even greater security measures that make me feel like my intensity is actually safe. Got the paper in the mail didn't understand why at first just scanned the QR code brought me straight to the sign in or create account part what super easy and it basically walks you through every process but would recommend taking the flashing lights out of the video self just in case of a person that has seizures goes through the same process as me

Redundant sig n ins, I went over a year without service when they transitioned from Myhealthevet to ID.ne. Many attemps, gave up in frustration. I do not trust this administration, and especially after Elon Musks hackers took over the system. They sure messed everything up.
This is why I hate dealing with AI - they have cut out the live human interaction, and made something simple impossible to accomplish! The entire process of taking a selfie, getting it to upload, making a selfie video - I never did manage to enter my account! For goodness sakes, I understand the need for security of information, but the software to accomplish the process made it impossible for an honest person to access their own account!
When I received notice that I could no longer pay my federal taxes with a check I freaked. My accountant notified me that an account had to be set up. I opened a separated account at my bank for just taxes and my daughter set up the ID account for me. She said it was not hard to do at all. After the acct was set up, I received notice that they received the info. After April 15 I will see if the money was taken out and if so, I guess it went okay. If people are not computer friendly, they will most likely need someone to help them.
It is a very long setup with no payoff. I now have an account that provides no service. I put in a lot of sensitive information and am now worried that it will be shared. I think it may be a scam.

I was just trying to read the newspaper from where I was when I was growing up. I looked up this account for students and it sent me to this site to find wonderful discounts.
When I created an account I had to upload a copy of the front & back of my driver's license. Then the website asked me to do a video selfie. Then the website said it would send a final link to my cell phone for the final step to create my account. But the link never came to my cell phone. Instead to my surprise, It came to my email address the next day. After that, everything went excellent
I was trying to get my identity verified for an IP pin needed to e-file my taxes. After jumping through all the hoops, going back and forth from texts to emails with codes provided, sending a copy of photo ID and taking a video selfie, I still was not able to be verified for whatever reason. Therefore, I was not able to get my pin nor get my taxes completed. So now I gotta call I guess to speak with someone and figure it all out that way, hopefully.
It took three browsers an over an hour to verify my identity in order to get my tax refund. It was excruciating. I hated it. Nothing was compatible except with google Chrome and I refuse to have anything to do with scroogle.
