My tax refund never came just a letter in the mail stating there was an "issue with my account information". However I wanted a printed check in the mail and should have never needed my direct deposit information. Nevertheless I went through the ways they had suggest for "document review" these did not work and neither did. Any of the dates that appeared available were definitely not. I eneded up going through the call process and my total wait time was 12 hours and 30 minutes before getting on call with an employee where all of my information was already Correct and should have had not issue in the first place! Now I am waiting on a follow up email to confirm my refund status. Should have never went through this.
I applied for a Veterans Discount on the computer for Lowe's. The system was simple, safe and secure. I received the verification in a few minutes.
The entire process was ridiculous. Anyone with mediocre computer skills would have a difficult time getting the documents uploaded. The interviewer was foreign and very hard to understand along with the audio. Terrible process to change my checking account number to receive my tax refund!

My experience was sweet, smooth, and I was confident the whole entire time to have a successful verifying.
Started my process on May 18th and it finally ended on May 30th. I spent a combined 45 hours in the waiting room across 4 days just waiting for a video call only to have to end my session because I needed to sleep (a 12,15, and 18 hour session). Needed this to get into a college class this summer and because it took them 12 days the class filled up.
1. Wait was three hours.
2. NO call-back provision, so tough luck if you could not sit by the phone/PC for three hours. If you disconnected, you start the three hour wait all over again.
3. We have esignatures for very sensitive legal/financial documents, why does ID.me require the client to hold up their passport, then license up to a screen? Extremely poor, unsophisticated software
4. And to top it off, when I agreed to participate in a survey, a banner on the top of every page warned me NOT to share my personal information. THEN, at the end, the survey asked me if I wanted to talk to a live person about my experience, and asked me for my contact information. All the while, the banner warning me NOT to share personal information was in full view.
Even the least trustworthy/opaque commercial services I have dealt with are more competence than ID.me
This website is badly designed with the clear intent wasting your time. For 1 example, when it prompts you for your phone number it defaults to the code for Afganistan (beginning of alphabet) rather then +1, which covers MOST of their customers and it offers an alphabetical scroll list which covers the planet. It doesn't seem to let let you just type '1'.
ID.me is easy to use, The website makes if slowww to fix when ID.me screws up. As in many hours of queueing.
Despite scheduling appointments, over 3 hours of wait time on 2 different evenings were required to complete the phone verification. Phone verification should not have been required except the video verification was unsuccessful.
I had to wait three hours for a scheduled video interview. Also the timer indicating how long the wait time would be was indicating 15-20 minutes. Never believe how long your wait will be until it indicates less than 10 minutes, and then don't really trust that. They don't take connections based on first come first, instead it is in a random order.

I was on Lowe's website and saw that they offer a discount to veterans. I was able to verify my vet status by selecting ID.me, and now I can always save money at Lowe's. Every penny counts these days...
