The fact that I had to wait over a month for someone on a zoom call to look at my ID when I have already sent this place a Picture of it is ridiculous its either wait over a day on hold or make an appointment absolutely bull$#*! I would never recommend this company to anyone unfortunately the irs thinks these guys are a good candidate for tax returns so I was stuck using this $#*!ty platform

I had an appointment at 5 am. I signed on at exactly 5 am. My wait time kept changing. After over an hour of changing wait times, I finally got my appointment. It was after 6 am. The appointment only took 10 minutes max. Quick and easy, except the wait
The process is extremely long, confusing and cumbersome. Not senior friendly. The plus side is that its free and once completed it works great.

I am trying to verify my ID, but stuck in phone number verification. So have to provide additional document and waiting for video call. And finally got all set.
Needed to verify my identify to access IRS as a US citizen abroad. The estimated wait times for "document review" were wildly off -- the display showed 3-4 minutes, and i held for 90 minutes before giving up; this is after starting at 40+ minutes wait, which took 2 hours to count down. Very frustrating b/c it wasn't at all clear when i was going to get off this wait or whether there was something wrong with my application.
I finally gave up b/c i had other commitments and saved my application. I was sent an e-mail link to resume the process, which i did later in the day, and the wait time was much more reasonable. Still longer than indicated, but i managed to connect to a video agent, and things were smooth from there. In short, 1 star for the initial (non-human) wait process, 5 stars for the video interview.
Because I'm not completely tech savvy, I was hesitant. As I proceeded to use the system, I found it a very easy process. This was my first video call and it was actually fun. The person I spoke with was extremely friendly.

Since my identity was already verified, I was able to access services quickly without having to repeat the verification process. It saved me time and made accessing benefits much more convenient.

Process is a nightmare multiple up loads of same documents and information then after verifying information system refers you to a referee. Then you wait for hours until your phone runs out of charge and must start over another day. When you finally are able to talk to a referee problem is resolved in less than ten minutes. Major issue is being forced to use this login method to reach IRS or Social Security. They need to review the decision to utilize ID.me for services so important to the general public and the government!
