I was forced to use this in order to put in my tax return. I feel violated and unsafe because of this. Worst of all is that the IRS rejected my tax return twice because I didn't correctly guess my AGI from 2024. I imagine that they have some kind of number in there, but I have no idea what it could possibly be.

I was having difficulty signing in but once I deleted my account which took 24 hrs than I was able to create a new account and everything was done in minutes

I could not believe all the steps involved in creating an ID. Surely someone tried to come up with the most complex and confusing process. I doubt many will use.

It was not what I thought it would be,
It was fast and easy getting my ID me login, I can say it will make logging in to anything you us it on fast and so far for me safe.

The ID.me process is annoying, complicated, time-consuming, it has bugs, and I hated the process that I was forced into so that I could get access to my State Retirement Account. If I didn't have to use AI, I would not for such an important function as accessing my Retirement Account.

I used for the first time for IRS access. Easy to handle and looks truthful. Will use in the future 👍

Explained to the agent that my wallet was suspended due to an incident from last year, and I needed to regain my account in order to access my tax forms and services through my IRS account. Contacted the agent after a couple of days and explained my situation, provided clear information and they were able to help me lift the suspension from my wallet. Overall, very happy with the service.

I chose this to replace the hours of redialing to contact the OPM or SSA. It took awhile to wade through my son's forest of antihacking apps and enter my info, but ID.me itself is intuitive and UX excellent. My issue is that using it didn't get the OPM to mail Or email my 1099-R as requested. Actual date of experience: a couple of days about a week before 04-08-26.

I'm a senior citizen and the computer is not always friendly for me but ID.me was easy to follow. Each direction was short and to the point. I did things on my phone to set up my account that I have never done before and it was a success the first attempt.

Nice short and to the point explanation of the process to expedite the process with how the confirmation can be completed. I would advise people to consider talking to someone who has gone through the experience before with ID.me.

Horrible experience. I entered all my info correctly and it just gave me an error code with no information. Was it the selfie, was it the info, my address, my email? We will never know because it gave me no info.

The process is ridiculous the steps you require are ridiculous asking a person to give you that information you shouldn't be asking for just to fill out an application

Felt forced into using or risk losing online access to my own social security (and other) data. Process was cumbersome, slow, difficult and fraught with false starts. I personally have some security knowledge but had to struggle through it. This is the same pattern I have experienced in other government programs - it seems the fed never learns

L had to pay estimated irs quarterly taxes. Irs needed verification of my identity. L read the instruction incorrectly initially. Once l realized my mistake, it smooth sailing.

The only reason to require this info is for building facial recognition algorithms and data harvesting. Absolutely avoid at all costs if you have any other alternatives. It should be illegal for any company, or the government for that matter, to be collecting this kind of data.

It was secure with all the layers of verifying your identity. That I liked. However, it kept rejecting my email. That became frustrating. I will try again next tax season hopefully I will do better navigating the system.

They are located overseas and it is VERY concerning that your sensitive information is being sent to someone outside of the US. The IRS forces you to utilize the!

Almost impossible to use. They promised to call me to give me help, but that proved not to be true.
